This adorable ball of fur has seamlessly become a beloved member of our household, radiating a mellow and playful energy that's impossible to resist. With his sweet and affectionate nature, our Miki has managed to steal the hearts of everyone he meets. His cute gremlin-like ears only add to his irresistible charm, making him a standout in the cuteness department. Miki is the ultimate snuggle bug, with a penchant for warmth and closeness. His favorite pastime remains unchanged – there's nothing he loves more than following his human around until they settle down, just so he can curl up in their lap. His gentle demeanor and loving nature make every snuggle session a precious moment to cherish. A home where somebody is home most of the day will be important for him. We recently received an A+ report card from the groomer. This little guy was a perfect gentleman during his grooming session, showcasing his friendly and cooperative demeanor. While his mellow and playful personality continues to shine, his potty-training continues to be a slow and steady process. In the meantime, Miki has embraced the stylish addition of a belly band to his wardrobe! He's a pretty quiet pup, with barks few and far between. However, when he does decide to vocalize, it's typically in response to his foster brothers' barks. It seems like he's quite the attentive listener, chiming in only when he feels it's absolutely necessary. When it comes to walks, Miki has made it clear that he's not the biggest fan, especially when the weather takes a turn for the worse. The cold and rain don't quite align with his idea of a perfect outing. However, when the sun is shining and the temperature is just right, he's more than happy to accompany his human on leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. While he may not be thrilled about venturing out in less-than-ideal weather, his reluctance doesn't overshadow his sweet disposition indoors. Miki is great in the car, and is happy to accompany us on errands around town. He eats well, LOVES treats, and sleeps well too! This absolute joy is ready to add a lot of love, affection, and companionship to your home! What are you waiting for? Miki is staying with Allyson in Nutley, NJ. How do you pronounce that name? Germans, where the breed was developed in the 1980’s, say “Bivah”. The emcee at Westminster pronounced it “Beaver.” However you want to pronounce it, the Biewer Terrier is a lovely, elegant, and playful little dog, a direct descendant of the Yorkshire Terrier. The beautiful Biewer’s only purpose is to love and be loved. Biewers share many of the same characteristics as Yorkies, including their long, silky coat, loving disposition, and intelligent personality as well as their health issues. Biewers are still rare beautiful jewels and very expensive because there are so few of them in the US and it has only recently been recognized by the AKC in 2021. Many more are being imported from Russia and Ukraine. The Biewer’s claim to fame is their very sweet temperament that make them great companions for families. They are lighthearted, and have been described as having a childlike attitude because of their habit of carrying toys in their mouths. If you are looking for a small, friendly, and intelligent dog, the Biewer may be the perfect breed for you. Do understand that their long coats need to be brushed daily as well as their teeth. Their coat can be kept in a shorter style, a ‘puppy cut’ to make it easier to maintain. They are athletic and love going for walks or even playing games inside will keep them in shape. There is much more information on the Biewer’s care on the Biewer Terrier Club of America’s webpage.
