Story
Gunner is 8 months old. Unknown mix, possible Great Pyrenees mix. We took Gunner in at 11 week from a friend. He is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and play. He gets along well with other dogs and is extremely sweet and gentle with our toddlers. Unfortunately, our oldest developed very strong allergies we did not anticipate. He is crate trained. Sleeps in crate at night. Will provide crate, bed, and other essentials along with his up to date vaccination records.

Story
She was adopted from a local animal shelter. She just turned 3. She is a beautiful girl, all legs! She is tall but very slim and weighs about 59lbs. We call her a model dog. She is wary of new faces for the first few minutes but quickly warms up and is very friendly and sweet. She doesn't realize how big she is and loves cuddling with people. I think she'd do well in a home that has a yard. She loves being outside. She wasn't into treats when we first got her, but now she loves food. Can do tricks like shake (left and right paw), turn around, sit. Overall though, she loves her independence too. She might be a little scared at first is overall very playful with other dogs. She had a bit of resource guarding for a week but we trained her without professional help and the behavior stopped completely. She is a bit of a barker, but only because she hears delivery trucks or someone knocking. She may be cautious while on a leash, but she is sweet to everyone inside her home!

Story
***DFW area only-No Exceptions***     Flurry is a 3 months  old (as of 2/1 /26) possibly Great Pyrenees/Australian cattle dog mix puppy. His litter was left at the back door of a local shelter at just one week of age.  His foster mom saw a plea and brought him in to the Legacy Humane fold! Since then, the pups have progressed from bottle feeding to solid food and are now ready for adoption! Flurry  loves to be played with, is attentive to his person, sweet and fun. He likes to climb in his foster mom’s lap for a snuggle. He also enjoys cozy dog beds for a good nap. He has one blue eye and one gray eye and his nose is multicolored. He is generally gentle and calm. He can be a bit shy in new situations but warms up faster if a nice doggy friend is around. Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup they can be. Flurry is working on potty training and, given a potty schedule, he does very well for his young age. Flurry does well with kids old enough to understand puppy behavior (~8ys and up). So far he does well with other dogs and cats. Flurry responds well to corrections from dogs and curtails his behavior accordingly. He would do best in a home with a yard.    Current weight: 22 lbs Projected weight 70+ lbs Crate trained    We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes his neuter, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative.  If you're interested in meeting or adopting him, please complete an application on our website and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Adopter will take puppy to an LHS approved vet to be neutered in July of 2025 per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance to Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code.  *Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies as well as vetting needs, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.    We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
