Meet Thor! Thor is a 3 year-old Bulldog/pit mix who loves adventure! He want to be going somewhere and doing something with his people! He is very smart and pays close attention to his surrounding. He would thrive in a home that wants to teach him new tricks and take him new places! He is still learning to stay calm when he sees something that excites him, and will need continued training for this. Thor is a very friendly, playful pup, but does seem to prefer female pups. We always recommend a meet n greet with your current dog to ensure that they are a good match! He may be too energetic for small children, so he should be in a home with older children only. He has been around cats and doesn't seem to be bothered by them. He does love to cuddle and loves affection. He also loves going on walks and playing ball and does very well in the car. He can be easily distracted though, and will often bark at people or animals when he's looking out the window. Thor is working on crate training, which is a slow introduction to being in the crate when his people are home, leaving the door open with things that he loves inside, so that he sees the crate is a good safe place for him. He is potty trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Exercise is important for Thor, as he loves to be doing something, with both his mind and body! He has a moderate to high activity level, so he needs 1-3 hours of moderate activity, like walking or playing ball, or 1-2 hours of high activity, like jogging, running and learning. Thor needs a fenced yard where he can run and play safely. While we are not sure how Nala would do with cats, we do know she does well with older kids. She has also lived with other dogs, but can be choosey with her friends. I didn't even have a bed, toys, bones and even hoomans that I love so much. I had to learn a lot... Fomma says I am a very quick learner and I am always eager to learn. I have learned sit, wait for my food till I'm told to get it, manners and a very important one... Who's in charge.. Come to find out it was not me! I like it better that way honestly. I love to take walks and I am working on my leash manners as well... There are just so many awesome things out there to see and smell its hard to stay focused. I have worked so hard at it that I hope you are up for taking walks, cuz I don't want to forget anything I have remembered. Lets see... Oh yeah if you are wondering if I like other dogs... Ummmm it would have to be very slow introductions. I love to run the fence line with the other fosters here and the neighbor dogs. It's just when the gate opens I tend to get a little overly excited and so I think it is just best we keep it to playing on opposite sides of the fence. Now if you would like to go outside and throw some ball I am down for that any and every day. Sometimes I bring it back and sometimes I don't. Not sure if you know her story, but McQueen was adopted around this time last year and her person decided to dump her at a local shelter instead of calling us. She was at the ideal weight of 52# at the time of her adoption and now she weighs 74# (she was 78# at the shelter, so she is getting that extra weight off) So, she will need someone dedicated to an exercise program for her so she can get back to her ideal weight. McQueen is good with other dogs, cats, kids and she is crate trained and housebroken. I feel that she needs a physical fence because her favorite thing is to be outside waiting to spot a squirrel to chase! Once she is done with her outside adventures, she is perfectly fine chilling next to you on the couch.
