******Please note, once you complete the initial screening, you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks, and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Hi! I am Pawl Stanley and I am a 2-year-old, 70lbs, neutered, and chipped. I have a loving personality and just want to be everybody’s friend! I haven’t had the best life until now. I was abandoned by my previous family and left in an apartment for around 2 weeks with no food and only the toilet to drink from. I was found there and brought to the shelter. A foster stepped up to get me out of the shelter and now things are looking up for me! I get to spend time with humans and both big and small dogs. I love everyone! I like to play with other dogs, but sometimes I get a little too excited for the small dogs and scare them when I do my play dance too close to them! My foster family has been working with me on my manners - I am a good boy, but I am doing my best to become the best boy I know I am meant to be! I already know how to sit, and I am currently learning crate training, wait/stay, leash walking, and basic manners. My foster family says I'm improving every day! I don’t really understand personal space because I want to be close to my friends. Some of my favorite things are making friends (both human and dog), chew toys, eating my veggies (like carrots and broccoli), going on walks (even in light rain), and diving for ice cubes in the water bowl. While I do enjoy my foster family, I am looking for my forever home. I want to be a part of a family that needs a big, excited, bundle of love in their lives! If you are interested in adding Stanley into your family, please fill out the adoption application below! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***

Meet Bodega! Bodega is a friendly, social pup. He’s great with most other dogs, knows sit and shake, and is incredibly gentle with food. He’s also kennel and potty trained—he’ll sit by the door to let you know when he needs to go out. This big guy is full of love and thinks he’s a lap dog! He adores pets and attention and needs an owner strong enough to handle him and who won't be crushed under him haha. He is a good boy, and a large boy! Because of his size, he’s not recommended for homes with small children. Bodega would make a loyal, affectionate companion. Could he be the perfect addition to your home?

Story
That face that you fell for is the happy-go-lucky heartthrob we call Charlie. He is the kind of dog that meets the world with a big ol’ smile and all the wiggle-wag one dog can physically create. He is a goofball with bouncy joy, the cutest charm, and some amazing cuddles. Charlie is estimated to be just over one-year-old, he weighs 50-pounds, and we think he is a bit of a lab/bulldog mix but truthfully we can’t say for sure given he is a rescue. The only test I could run showed he is 100% sunshine and sweetness. See for yourself then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/sQRj9YmGuG4 Charlie is a friendly boy that makes it hard not to fall for him immediately. After I spent the day with him I didn’t want him to go- I had fallen for him. He is instantly affectionate and melts into a puddle of belly rub seeking butter. If he doesn’t melt you will feel him lean into you for hugs, and he will even let you scoop him up for an extra sweet cuddle. This guy’s happy energy is contagious and that doesn’t stop with people, he is just as thrilled to make new dog friends as he is to be by your side. The afternoon we spent with Charlie we introduced him to a wide variety of dogs to get a feel for his play style and the types of dogs he enjoys most. It didn’t take long at all for us to be impressed with how friendly and welcoming he was. Even when other dogs came in a little hot or pushy, Charlie handled it with grace. With the right dog, an equally bouncy, playful dog, he showed us he loves a bit of bouncy, physical play but it isn’t his constant. He was comfortable enough to lay down beside brand-new dogs a sign of total trust. He’s the type who only joins in play when invited and isn’t going to push his way in as a third wheel or shut down the fun for them. He isn’t going to cause a stir but will always try to help keep the vibes tuned to fun-loving, calm joy. Charlie does need some leash work, he has the basics down and honestly I feel like I am betraying him to say such a thing because it didn’t bother me one bit. All I could see was a happy boy who was just so excited to explore the world! The more he gets to experience and enjoy the better he will be at pacing himself . That and some practice (and maybe a few treats to reward him for checking-in and walking by your side), he will learn quickly. He is a smart boy, eager to please, and already shows how well he responds when guided gently. He will bond fast and deep with his people. During the time we spent with him, the first person who interacted with him as his handler walked out of the yard, he stayed by the gate waiting- a loyal love bug through and through. Because of that devotion, he may miss you when you go at first, its natural, but with time and routine he will settle into knowing his favorite people always come home. Charlie would do best in a home with a yard and another playful, medium-energy dog to run and romp with. He could adjust to apartment living once his leash manners are polished as long as he gets plenty of playtime and adventures to meet his mental and physical needs. No cats for Charlie though, his eager friendliness does not vibe with cats. We all know cats- if you’re too eager they don’t care for you and that goes for dogs too. Charlie gets to focus his love and happiness towards people and dogs. If you’re looking for a happy, loving, goofy companion who’ll make every day so much better, Charlie’s your guy. One look into that glowing, goofy face and you’ll know -his boy was made to love you. Ready to welcome some sunshine into your life? Story
This unit is permanently set to “people first!” His name is Dooney and he is here and ready to be loved on. Dooney has a big personality, full-body wiggles, and a perfectly goofy personality. This is the kind of dog who walks into a room like he already knows everyone is about to be his new best friend, and honestly? He’s usually right. Go watch him in action on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this affectionate, attention-loving boy. https://youtu.be/YX4iQCOWdbg Dooney is confident, social, and immediately connected to his people. From the start, he’s all about closeness. He’ll happily sit at your feet, gently paw for more pets, and if that doesn’t quite do the trick, he’ll pop up to remind you that he is, in fact, still there and still accepting affection. Inside, he can be found on the couch and always in stand-by for cuddle mode. And because he is fostered in a loving home, we can also report that he is both house and crate trained. On leash, Dooney is a dream to walk. He naturally sticks close, checks in often, and doesn’t need much guidance to stay in sync with you. He makes you feel like you’re already a team, even if you just met. He enjoys getting out and about and would do wonderfully joining his person on errands, outings, or anywhere he can soak up attention from new friends. And speaking of attention… Dooney loves it. All of it. He is a dog who will thrive in a home where people come and go, where there’s always someone nearby to say hello to, and where being part of the action is part of his daily routine. With other dogs, Dooney is friendly and confident, but he brings a very classic “bully breed” playstyle. Think enthusiastic, a little pushy, and very much “let’s play right now!” energy. He can come in strong when meeting other dogs and may need a reminder to slow things down, but he responds well to guidance and settles into a more balanced interaction once he understands the expectations. He’ll do best with dogs his size or larger who can match his play style and aren’t bothered by his bold approach. Smaller dogs won’t be the right fit for him simply because of his size and approach to play which is rough and tumble and would easily be too much for a small dog. Dooney is not a match for homes with cats and the same reasoning applies- his bold and bullish ways. Around food, Dooney shows nice manners. He can share treats alongside other dogs with no concern and stays focused on his own food during meal times. What really stands out about Dooney is how easy he is to connect with. He is open, affectionate, and genuinely enjoys being with his people. He’ll thrive with someone who appreciates his social nature, understands his play style, and is excited to have a dog who is equal parts companion, cuddle buddy, and enthusiastic about life. If you’re looking for a confident, fun-loving dog who will keep your days full of connection and love, Dooney is ready to be your guy. Apply today, he’s already saving you a spot right next to him on the couch. Apply here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69c18afb917d1b5fc208e4b6 Questions? Story
This wonderful furry friend came to us due to a need to rehome from a very busy family who love and trained this girl well but no longer have the time for this 3 year old. This girl loves her walks and play time. She is very smart and a joy to play with. She is kennel trained and so far, no accidents in the house. Our family has had her for a few days and love her but ran into an issue, the cat. This would be her forever home but this girl is a hunter. She will chase vermin and cats but great with my boys. I wanted to see if there is a loving home with someone who has time for play, would appreciate a furry companion, and does not have a cat. I will work with her original family to review applications.
