K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. ** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe St location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day between 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. ** This sweet boy is a friendly, outgoing young dog who has done well living with kids and cats. Jimmy is housetrained and enjoys affection. Jimmy is easy to walk and is polite with strangers, happy to greet people, and ignores other dogs or shows some interest. He's comfortable riding in the car. Jimmy wags his tail nonstop and enjoys a fun game of fetch or a toy to chew on! And although he takes sniffing around the yard very seriously, he'll come when called and will be very excited to give a kiss or two to his favorite people! Found on the street Jimmy is hoping to find a home and family to which he can give his love and affection. Could that be you? Come and meet this pup. And if you have a family consider him - Jimmy would make a good family dog - helping kids get energy out of their system with some outside time! When he arrived as a stray, everyone held their breath. He was heartbreakingly skinny. Yet, Acorn was so sweet, loving, and resilient. He is a sweet dog who loves everyone he meets and wants to make his people proud. Acorn is house-trained, knows sit, down, and stay, walks beautifully on a leash, passes dogs and people calmly, is crate-trained, and sleeps through the night. With his loose leash skills and long legs, Acorn has also proven to be a natural jogging partner. He also loves to play! He loves his toys and greets dogs with a friendly play bow. With the right guidance, Acorn is going to make a phenomenal and devoted companion. If you are looking for a dog with beautiful eyes and a heart of gold to match, please consider adopting Acorn! Well, that's one way to get attention when you want to be saved. So, here's the story- There was a police report of a woman screaming but when the police arrived, they found poor innocent Vance tied to a pole just begging for help! A bit of mistaken identity but it worked. Vance, the very good boy, arrived here with a plan to woo everyone. He is so sweet, and gentle. We all so love this darling fellow, and we know you will too. The way he puts his paw on our laps just makes our hearts melt. So, we highly recommend you take a chance with Vance. He is wonderful!Check out Vance's video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=veOHzyo6vjg

Story
Mr. Bean is a 5 year old, male boxer mix who just arrived to PAW on 3/29/2024.   He appears a bit timid but is very sweet.  He  was in a foster home with cats at his prior location and was greatly loved by his foster mom but not by the cats, so she reluctantly decided it would be best to try to rehome him.  Walkers report that he doesn't pull a lot on the leash, is shy, and is medium- energy.  He loves to get pets and to cuddle with everyone he has met!  On walks, he likes to sniff but is not reactive to cars, squirrels, or other dogs.  This good boy certainly deserves a forever home where he can relax, be loved, and give lots of love back.    PAW places animals in the Washington, DC/Baltimore metropolitan area only.          ##2004529##
