I know my manners, I sleep quietly in my crate, and I understand that potty time happens outside like a civilized lady. Sure, I breathe loud enough to shake nearby windows, but nobody’s perfect. Now let’s discuss walks. I believe walks should be slow, thoughtful, and optional. Sometimes I walk beautifully. Sometimes I stop in the middle of the sidewalk because I’ve decided the journey is over. You may try to encourage me. You may plead. But understand this: I am not stubborn. I am simply committed to my boundaries. Also, the shelter people keep saying I’m “on a wellness journey,” which I think is rude because I can already walk all the way to the kitchen without stopping.
