Please contact Courtney Nobles (courtneyn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet older gent seeking happily ever after! CARL NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Carl        Best Guess for Breed: Bulldog and hound mix  Best Guess for Age:  7 years as of October 2024      Gender:Male Approximate Weight:46 lbs Gets Along With: Carl does well with other dogs. We haven't seen him with kids or cats but we can test him if you have them! Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment! Special Adoption Considerations: Carl is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Carl is Looking For: His forever home. This sweetie ended up in a shelter through no fault of his own - and he's closed that chapter. He's eager to once again have his own humans for long sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. Don't let that frosty face fool you - he's got plenty of zest!  A cushy dog bed, quality kibble, lots of snugs - yep, all on his wish list too. But as a wise, experienced dog, he knows what's most important in life: To be safe and loved and under his own roof. He's got so much to offer in exchange - adoring gazes and loyal companionship, definitely, but he also promises to make you smile every day. What do you say? Are you Carl's soft landing? Is he the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Please contact Destiny Sibert (DestinyS@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Bulldog Babe Ready for Fun and Cuddles BLUEBELL NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!    Name:  Bluebell         Best Guess for Breed:  Bulldog mix   Best Guess for Age:  5 years 9 months as of Sept 2024         SEX: Female   Approximate Weight: 33 lbs   Gets Along With:    Bluebell loves her people more than anything and would like to be the only dog in the home. Bluebell is not a good fit for homes with children or cats.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations: Bluebell is a true bulldog with a strong prey drive and prefers to fly solo, so she MUST be the only pet in the home. Bluebell's adoption includes sponsored training classes with Atlas Dog House to support her new adopters in helping Bluebell be her best self.   Because of her breed and the brachycephalic issue, Bluebell must be walked using a harness and she cannot be out in the heat too long or she will have difficulty breathing.    About Bluebell:  Bluebell is a curious, smart girl who’s looking for a family that will share in her joy for life. She's been working hard on her obedience and comes with sponsored training sessions at Atlas Dog House so her future adopters can help Bluebell be her best self!   Will you be the one to give this spirited bulldog babe the love and adventures she deserves?  A Spirited Lady Bluebell may be nearly 6 years old, but she’s still full of energy and enthusiasm for life! This sweet bulldog loves nothing more than spending time with her people, whether it’s joining you on an adventure, enjoying a treat, or curling up on the couch for some cozy snuggles. Playful and Active Despite her age, Bluebell loves playtime and thrives on multiple short walks throughout the day to burn off her energy. She’s a curious and smart girl who has worked hard to improve her leash manners, and she’s come a long way. Just be mindful of her in warmer weather—she’ll need those breaks to avoid overheating. A True Lover Bluebell's favorite thing is cuddly up to her humans on the couch and showering them with kisses. Once she decides that you're her person, you'll never have a more loyal companion.  Adoption Information Are you ready to welcome this fun-loving and sweet bulldog into your home? If you’re looking for a playful, energetic, and affectionate companion who loves adventure and cuddles, Bluebell is the perfect match! Fill out an adoption application: https://www.luckydoganimalrescue.org/adopt/adoption-process What My Foster Says About Me (Foster #1):   Bluebell is a sweet girl that wants to be around her people at all times! She enjoys treats and a good scratch to her ears and belly as well as cuddling up on the couch with her family when it's time to rest. She is a curious and energetic girl for being 5 years old. She loves playtime and multiple short walks throughout the day (so she doesn't overheat). She's worked hard on improving her leash manners and obedience training, so she'd love an adopter that will continue working with her so she can show you how smart she really is. What My Foster Says About Me (Foster #2): Bluebell is really great - very sweet, so smart and expressive. She very rarely barks, but has lots of bully snores and snorts. She doesn't like the cold, and loves to sleep. She's a big cuddle bug and content with a few short walks each day. She knows some basic obedience commands and loves to give snuggles. She's friendly to everyone who comes into the house but more cautious meeting people outside. We've been working on her reactivity to dogs, but the sponsored training with Atlas will be a big help for her future adopters. She's an enthusiastic eater and tends to eat too fast. She can't use a normal slow feeder because her snout is so short, so we pace her eating so we pace her eating during meals by giving her 1/2 cup then waiting a few minutes and giving her the other 1/2 cup.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
I`m in a Foster Home! To meet me, email my foster parent at kbfosterpups@gmail.com.Honor is the most sweet and gentle pup. She is generally quite mellow and happy just to be around her people. She enjoys leisurely walks through the neighborhood and loves to greet people and other dogs she meets along the way. She takes direction well on the leash and already knows how to sit and shake! At home, she is content with a chew stick or other treat-based toy and to take a long cozy nap in her fluffy donut bed. She`s already house-trained and is excellent at going outside. Honor`s also always up for an adventure and is a patient passenger in the car and will joyfully accompany you on your outings! More photos and stories are available on Instagram at @fosterpupsdc.

Story
Big sweetie Goldie has- and I’m sure you guessed already- a heart of gold! She is amazing, funny, sweet and way too cute. And we all love her. Dear Goldie arrived here as her family was losing their home. Goldie was saddened by this abrupt change, but she gave one good shake-off and proceeded to charm everyone! She is easy to care for and love as she is so appreciative. Now Goldie is allergic to chicken so no poultry for this good girl, but the adoptions staff can guide you on best meals for Goldie. Goldie is a delightful 80-pound senior who is ready to woo you!
