Story
Meet Mia – A Resilient, Playful, and Loving Companion! Mia is a 4-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart who’s come a long way since she was found on the streets of Kansas City, Kansas. She has blossomed into a confident, affectionate pup who’s ready for her forever home. These days, Mia loves being a ride-along buddy—she enjoys running errands, exploring home improvement stores, and meeting new people (especially those with treats!). She’s gentle when taking snacks from both her foster and friendly strangers, and her social confidence continues to grow every day. Mia is leash-trained and also worked with professional trainers to build her confidence and reduce her fear-based reactions. She’s made amazing progress and knows several commands, including sit, wait, with me, come, kennel, and is currently learning leave it. She’s crate-trained and happily settles in with a peanut butter Kong. At home, Mia is a great balance of playful and calm. She loves romping in the yard, playing chase or wrestling with her foster sister, and showing off her epic zoomies before curling up in a cozy spot for a nap. Mia can be protective of her resources around other dogs, but she’s making steady progress. She would thrive either as an only dog or with a larger, calm, and playful canine companion. She’s not a fit for homes with cats or young children. Mia can jump a short fence, so she’ll need a home with a tall, secure privacy fence or an adopter committed to leash-walking her for potty breaks. Mia has a big heart and is ready to share it with the right person or family. If you're looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate dog who’s already put in the work to become her best self—Mia might just be the one! If you are interested in meeting Mia, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Mia's adoption fee is $100 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, deworm, heartworm testing.

Story
Meet Diamond – A Shining Soul with a Heart of Gold Diamond is a stunning 4-year-old black Pit Bull/Lab mix whose story is as powerful as her name. When she was rescued, Diamond had endured severe neglect and abuse — she was skin and bones, missing patches of fur, and had lost faith in people. But with love, patience, and care, this beautiful girl has blossomed into a happy, playful companion with a dazzling smile and sleek black coat. Diamond is crate trained and has never had an accident indoors. She sleeps soundly through the night in a crate, but she’d much prefer to curl up in bed next to her person. Once she feels safe, her playful and goofy personality shines through — she loves walks, plays with toys, and has the most endearing zoomies. She’s also learning to enjoy human affection, and her foster mom has worked hard to help her learn that human touch can be kind. Diamond would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home. She is not cat-friendly and can be unpredictable with other dogs. Her ideal adopter will respect her need for slow introductions and structure. Because of her past, food is a valuable resource for Diamond and should be managed with care. Like many young dogs, she can still be a bit mouthy when excited, but she listens beautifully when told to calm down or redirects to a toy. Once Diamond trusts you, you’ll see just how special she is — her loyalty runs deep, and her goofy grin will melt your heart every day. She is proof that love and patience can heal old wounds, and she’s ready to find the person who will let her sparkle forever. Could you be the one to give Diamond her forever home and show her what unconditional love truly feels like? Diamond is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know her in your home before finalizing the adoption. It’s a great way to ensure the perfect fit! ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Dia (Diamond) 🤍 | 5-Year-Old Pit Bull Terrier Mix Dia is a beautiful, all-white girl with a big heart and a loyal spirit. After spending several years in a home with a family, she’s now looking for a fresh start where she can once again be a devoted companion. Dia has lived as an indoor dog and is crate trained, comfortable being left alone, and used to a home routine. She has also done very well with children and previously lived with kids as young as two years old, showing a gentle and patient side with her family. This sweet girl weighs around 70–80 pounds and has overcome some medical challenges in the past, including surgery on both knees (similar to ACL repairs in people). Despite that, she’s continued to live a happy, active life and is ready to share her love with a new family. Dia came back to rescue after experiencing some stress and changes in her previous home. Based on her recent history with other dogs, Dia will do best as the only dog in the household where she can enjoy a calm, stable environment and soak up all the attention from her people. Her experience with cats is unknown. Dia is: • 🤍 Loyal and affectionate with her people • 🏡 Used to indoor home life • 🛏 Crate trained and comfortable when left alone • 👧 Great with children • 🐾 Best suited as the only dog in the home • 💪 A resilient girl who’s overcome past knee surgeries Dia is looking for a stable, loving home where she can settle in, rebuild her confidence, and be someone’s faithful companion again. Dia is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know Dia in your home before finalizing the adoption. It is a great way to ensure the perfect fit! If you’re searching for a devoted dog who will bond closely with her family and bring love to your home, Dia may be the perfect match. 🐾 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. 🐾 Meet Mala — Bold, Brilliant, and Full of Heart Playful • Smart • Affectionate • Long Timer Mala is a stunning American Pit Bull Terrier with a big personality, a bigger heart, and absolutely zero stranger danger. None. If you are a human, Mala is already planning to love you — enthusiastically and with her whole body. 💕 Mala has been in foster care since April 2023, making her a long timer dog who’s patiently waiting for the right match — not just any home, but her home. 🐕 Personality & Social Vibes Mala lives life at full volume — joyfully, energetically, and with total sincerity. • Loves people — friends, strangers, guests, anyone with hands for pets • Greets humans with full-body wiggles and enthusiastic affection • Confident, playful, and socially bold • No stranger danger whatsoever — she assumes everyone is her new best friend • Thrives on interaction, engagement, and being included She’s the kind of dog who lights up a room just by walking into it. 🧠 Smart & Trainable Mala is incredibly intelligent and eager to learn. • Knows basic commands and picks up new skills quickly • Highly food- and praise-motivated • Helped teach her foster brother Bob how to sit (yes, really) • Would love continued training to channel her energy and brilliance She’s not just brawn — she’s brains, too. 🐾 Dogs, Cats & Companions • Enjoys active play with other dogs • Has a confident, sometimes dominant play style • Would do best as an only dog or with a calm, submissive canine companion • Coexists with cats but prefers they don’t run — she finds that a bit too exciting 🏡 Home Match Notes Mala is a big, strong, active, excitable dog who experiences emotions at full speed. • She may jump up when excited • When overly worked up, she can redirect and become a bit nippy • Because of her strength and intensity, she would do best in a home without young children, who may not recognize or respect her boundaries This isn’t about aggression — it’s about making sure everyone is set up for success. 🚗 Adventure + Chill Balance Mala is the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. • Loves walks, car rides, and outdoor adventures • Enjoys runs and active play • Equally happy to crash on the couch for post-adventure snuggles • Motto: Play hard, nap harder 💛 The Big Picture Mala is loyal, affectionate, hilarious, and full of life. She’s not a low-energy dog — she’s a full-hearted companion who wants to be part of everything you do. For the right adopter, she’ll bring laughter, love, and unforgettable companionship. ✨ Mala is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know her in your home before finalizing the adoption. Story
Looking to find a furever home for this sweet and playful girl. Liesel is a 4-yr old Pit mix. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and doesn't have any health concerns. She knows basic commands and is highly treat motivated. House and crate trained as well.Liesel loves to spend time outside, going for walks/runs and smelling all the smells. She's always down to play with her squeaker toys, tug-o-war rope or chomp down on a chew toy. If you work from home, she is perfectly comfortable taking naps while one is busy. A real cuddle bug in the evenings too.Liesel has suffered through some past trauma that has led to some resource guarding and on-leash reactivity towards other dogs. We are making progress at the off-leash dog park but still needs further training and socialization. She warms up to strangers quickly. She would do best in a home without any other pets or children (though with time, patience, and some training in the right environment I believe that can change).

Story
Hi, I’m Reggie! I’m almost 2! I was adopted as a puppy out of a shelter and then returned. Then I had a mom and a dad for about a year, and they broke up and neither one could take me. A lot of moving around so early has left me with a bit of separation anxiety but my foster family is working very hard with me on that. They think I’d do best in a multi dog home so that even when my humans leave I’ve still got someone! I’m a good boy and I to dress to impress! I love wearing my hoodie, I get lots of compliments and get called handsome. Every new sound to me makes my ears perk up and lose track of whatever I was focusing on. The world is somewhat new to me. This is my first time being in a home with a backyard and WOW! Leaves roll and make sound? There are so many different bird sounds?! I just learned about lawn mowers!! I’m taking in a lot and really enjoying it. If we are inside, all I want to do is be as close to my humans as possible. I prefer to sit on their laps if possible! Reggie will come fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $225. Apply to adopt Reggie today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.

Story
Hi, I’m your future best friend. I’m a treat enthusiast (seriously… I will sit like a perfect angel for snacks), a professional hug-giver, and a champion kisser. I love hanging out with other dogs and making new furry friends, it’s kind of my thing. I’ve had a bit of a rough start in life, but I’m ready to leave that behind and start my happily-ever-after. I prefer to be around people and other dogs compared to being alone. All I need is a loving human/family who’s willing to give me a little extra patience, a lot of love, and maybe… a few treats (okay, a lot of treats). In return, I promise to fill your days with tail wags, cuddles, and unconditional love. Deal? Phoenix loves other dogs. He is house and kennel trained. He is 2 years old and 42lbs currently. Phoenix's adoption fee is $225 and includes age appropriate vaccinations, dewormer, heartworm medication, microchip and spay/neuter surgery. Fill out an adoption application at bit.ly/L13ApplyApp

Story
Meet Freya Freya is an 8-month-old female Boxer/Pit mix puppy who is smart, playful, and full of potential. She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She’s a bright, loving pup ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family. Story
Meet Darla 🐾 DOB: 10/06/2025 • ~6 months old Current weight: ~30 lbs Darla is one of those pups who just gets it. She’s smart, tuned in to her people, and already figuring out how to be a really solid companion. She has that great mix of playful energy and the ability to settle, which makes her easy to live with for a young dog. She enjoys toys, interaction, and being part of whatever is going on — but she’s not chaotic or over-the-top about it. In her foster home, Darla is: • Picking up routines quickly • Responsive and eager to learn • Social and people-focused • Building good habits with structure She hasn’t been around cats or children in her foster home, and based on her personality, she would likely do best in a home with older kids who can respect her space and continue her training. Darla looks to be a bully/terrier-type mix (best guess) and is expected to mature into a nice medium-sized dog, likely in the 40–50 lb range. She’s at a really fun stage — past the tiny puppy chaos, but still young and ready to keep learning. With consistency and guidance, she’s going to make a great everyday companion. If you’re looking for a smart, engaging dog who wants to be part of your life (and not just watch it from across the room), Darla is your girl.

Meet Cane! Cane is a sweet, goofy Boxer/Pit Bull mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for naps and snuggles. He's house-trained, knows his basic commands, and loves learning new things, especially when treats are involved (very food motivated!). Most days, Cane is happily snoozing, supervising his humans, or curled up as close as possible on the couch. Once a day, he enjoys a short but enthusiastic case of the zoomies before returning to his favorite activity: relaxing. Toys will bring him out of a slumber every time, and he loves some rowdy playtime too. Cane would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where he can be the only pet. He does best without other animals or children and truly shines when he gets all the attention. In the right home, he's affectionate, loyal, and full of personality. If you're looking for a low-key companion who will keep your couch warm and your heart full, Cane may be your perfect match. I wish I could keep him myself truly, he's my best friend.
