Story
Ellie is a 7-year old brindle boxer, is spayed, crate trained, potty trained, and is micro-chipped. She loves to snuggle and has a very sweet and relaxed demeanor. Ellie can be a little shy and unsure at first, but warms up quickly.  She likes to gently paw her people on the leg while they're sitting down to get their attention for affection.  Ellie is also very good about staying off of furniture, couches, etc., except for the occasional misplaced paw for attention.   She's indifferent about water, does get distracted on a leash, and she'll usually follow a ball playing fetch but doesn't always bring it back. She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. She takes inexpensive thyroid medication daily. Ellie is good with kids and will likely need to be an only pet.  Her adoption fee is $200 and you can apply to meet her here:  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Meet Red –  A True Soul Dog and Gentleman “Some dogs come into your life, and some dogs become your life. A soul dog is never just a pet—they are a part of you that finally made it home.” As his foster, I truly believe Red is one of those soul dogs, just looking for his true person. Red has faced challenges in life, but none of this was ever his fault. His previous family struggled to care for him consistently, yet he remained loyal, kind, and always there for them. Now he’s ready for a stable, loving forever home. Red is an 8-year-old, 86-pound Boxer mix with a honey-brown coat, soulful brown eyes, a striking white blaze and chest, and four white socks. He’s a gentle giant—loyal, smart, loving, and full of heart. Red is crate and house trained, walks perfectly on leash, knows sit and shake with both paws, rides beautifully in the car, and has excellent house manners. He is fantastic with kids, other dogs, and cats, he loves snuggles, Netflix marathons, calm walks when the weather is nice, and relaxing indoors on a cozy bed. Red is a true companion who simply loves being near you. Red deserves a home where he will be cherished as a full indoor family member, treated with love, patience, and stability. He is ready to give his whole heart to the family lucky enough to adopt him. About Red: 8 years old Boxer mix Neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines  Heartworm negative House & crate trained Kid-friendly Dog and Cat-friendly Great on leash Loves fetch, car rides, and cuddles Red's adoption fee is $200, covering his neuter, vaccinations, dewormer, first dose of heartworm prevention, and microchip. Story
Dirk is an almost 4 year old, 33 lb, Pit Bull/American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He was dumped along with 2 other dogs and we have no idea why. This boy is absolutely precious! He LOVES to be with his people and is a well mannered boy. He would do best with someone that works from home or is home most of the time. He does good with other dogs, and loves to play. He would do best in the home with another dog who also loves to play! He is kennel trained and potty trained. He is currenlty in a home with a 7 year old child and is good with him, but we do not know how he is with younger children. Due to his breed makeup, no apartments please! If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org  *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 3 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a home check *Our adoption fees are as follows paid by cash, a check made out to Rescue Row, Venmo: @Rescue-Row or at Zelle: info@rescuerowinc.org Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2367160##
