Story
Meet Luciano! He is a mature pup, who knows several commands and is always willing to learn more! He would do well in a home with kids and gets along with other dogs with slow and proper introductions. Skip the puppy potty training and adopt Luciano! Full bio and adoption details below….. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Luciano, but my friends call me Lucci. ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I'm a good boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I'll be 8 on my birthday, which is in September. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? American Staffordshire HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? If I had a driver's license, it would say 60lbs. But I'm a few pounds over that. I won't judge if you don't. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? Handsome! My clipped ears are an often talked about feature. But the ladies like my green eyes. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I am a good eater! I eat my kibble, but I also like sweet potatoes, Greek yogurt, watermelon and apples. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? Whoever said you can't teach an old dog new tricks wasn't talking about me. I love to try new things. The more I'm in new situations, the better I learn to handle it. Most days are pretty normal, though, and I've got a chill vibe with a large dose of loving. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: EAT! Walk. Sleep. Get some cuddles. Back to sleep. Play - I love the water most, but I also love tug-of-war or chase. I like brain games, too. Back to sleep. EAT! All I want to do after that is cuddle and sleep. My day is over! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? The hose! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Sit, Wait, Plotz (lay down), Shake, Return, Leave It, No, and Yes. I've been getting pretty good lately at staying in my designated spot when my foster mom opens the door to get a delivery, too. I know how to ask to potty. I also listen when I'm told to go lay down, even though I don't like it because I think it's cuddle time. WHAT SCARES YOU? Bang sounds. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? Yep! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I am not a cat guy. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I used to live with other dogs and did fine. I'm an only dog in the house now. As always with adult dogs, slow intros are required! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? On a human lap. Or a dog pool. That's a hard one. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Grrrreat! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and human brother. I don't choose favorites. I know who to go to depending on what I want. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? My bed WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? My bed DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I LOVE walks! It has taken a lot of practice, but I am good on a leash. I do best with consistent rules. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I've been known to check the yard for weak spots and to patrol for cats, but when everything is cool, I just like to hang out in the yard and sunbathe. I don't bark much. Only when I'm nervous or playing. You could go days and not hear me bark. I admittedly get excited when new people are in the house or we pass a reactive dog on a walk. My foster mom has learned some strategies to help me calm down faster in these situations. She can teach you, too. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yep! DO YOU LIKE WATER? Let's gooo! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love them most for cuddles and letting me spend more time outside; in the world. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I spent a lot of time in a crate and my experiences were very limited. LUCIANO'S ADOPTION FEE IS $100.00 If you are interested in Luciano please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. I'm incredibly happy 😁, affectionate 🥰, and playful 😜, always eager to meet new people and play with my humans and other pups! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY. In the morning I'd go for a long walk or jog with my human🏃🏽‍♀️, then come back and recuperate with food and water, before taking a nice nap around the late morning or noon 😴, then in the afternoon I'd love to go for another walk or a ride in the car 🚗 before winding down with my toys, dinner, and a night of lounging about with my family. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? My favorite toy are my chewing plushies, especially my dinosaur 🦖, but my foster family doesn't appreciate the mess I make, after that would be my kongs🦴, especially with peanut butter inside! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Other than sitting, laying down and jump, I know how to recall via whistling! WHAT SCARES YOU? Not a lot, loud voices can scare me, along with mechanical noises like printers, though I'm actually fine with fireworks and vacuums. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? Yes I have! I'm actually very well-mannered around kids but young ones may get me a bit hyper🤪 so I do best with older kids! DO YOU LIKE CATS? No I’ll pass! HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love other dogs 😍and am always up to play or hang out with them! Though senior dogs may not appreciate my energy, having an energetic or patient friend would be my favorite! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? In a park, hanging about with my family and other dogs, playing and running around! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I'm a very healthy boy! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster parents, their young adult son, and my older foster brother and senior foster sister, though I would say I'm closest to my Foster Mom🙋🏽‍♀️! WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? When I'm home alone, I hang out in my crate with my toys and spend most of my time napping. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate or on the floor next to my Foster Dad's bed in his room. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I love walking on a leash or on a harness, my foster family says I walk great! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Well as a younger boy I still have some annoying habits from my puppy days, mainly mouthing on my family when I want attention or jumping on people when I get excited but not much besides that! ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes I'm perfectly house trained and will always let my family know when I need to potty. DO YOU LIKE WATER? I don't really like to get wet but I do great in a bath and will go into water! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love how much affection they show me, they cuddle and pet me and play with me when they can and I love it😍! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? Nobody really knows how my first year went, but my foster family found me abandoned and hiding on a trail head near Columbia, CA in late June. Then they took me home and I've been with them ever since with lots of help from NBBR! 🧢 Angelos adoption fee is $300 🧢 If you are interested in adopting Angelo please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org ‼️At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas.‼️ For more information on what that means and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n Thank you so much in advance for understanding!!!

Ideal home will: Have the time to commit to all things puppy! Please note puppies do not do well left alone long hours and need to be let out every 2-3 hours for potty. Long work schedule where the puppy would be left alone for 7+ hours can be difficult on most puppies and young dogs. Solid plans for puppy socialization, positive exposure and continued training + relationship building -- commitment not just to puppyhood but to a lifetime of love, care, companionship and vetting. HFP advocates for Positive Reinforcement only for young puppies and training that focuses less on "obedience" and more on confidence building, relationship building and consent training. Preference to homes w/ friendly & well-trained dog role models (preference, NOT required) Preference to homes w/ yards (preferred, NOT required) Why? Puppies cannot go in public until they are 4 month old and complete their puppy shot series. Having a yard during this time greatly helps with play, potty training, and providing an outlet for your puppy to get outside. There are ways to work around this if you do live in an apartment setting but it takes some extra work and planning! Interested in adopting? 1. Story
Meet Honey B! Honey B is a sweet 7 year old senior girl currently fostered in Davis and rescued from Stanislaus shelter in Modesto. She is a snuggly couch potato during the day, but gets her playful zoomies in before bedtime. Her hobbies include playing with her toys, being the little spoon, receiving belly rubs, and napping in the sunlight. She also loves being outside and has been a good walking and jogging companion who matches our pace. Honey gets a little excited when seeing other dogs out on walks but has been making great progress with the help of…cheese! She is housetrained and left un crated when her fosters are out. While rapidly de-stuffing toys is one of her talents, she leaves our human things alone. Honey can be a little shy when she first meets new people, but her cute personality comes out as she warms up. She even knows how to shake paws! Honey has done well living with another dog in her previous foster home. She has been dog-selective in the past and would do best with slow intros/other relaxed dogs. Honey is a little TOO interested in cats, and would do best in a home without them. Fostered in Davis, CA Honey's adoption fee is SPONSORED. Includes spay/addendum; rabies, dhpp, bordatella, microchip, and up to date on monthly preventatives. Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3.
