Get ready to meet the newest combo meal sensation, brought to you by McDonald's... Oops, we mean McDaddy and his sister wives, McMuffin and McFlurry! These delightful pups were discovered living in a McDonald's drive-thru, where they'd been flipping tails for months. The good news? One of the sister wives, McFlurry, has already found her forever home and is loving life! But the McDaddy-McMuffin duo is still awaiting their perfect match, whether that means together or apart. What's the secret sauce to their happiness? Well, these two definitely need another canine companion to keep those tails wagging! Let's meet the star of the show, McDaddy! He's a sweet, middle-aged guy with a low-energy vibe. He enjoys leisurely strolls through the yard, cozy couch naps, and most of all, he loves chilling in his crate while keeping a watchful eye on the house. McDaddy is a people lover, but he's not so keen on the little ones-they make him a bit nervous. However, when it comes to other dogs, he's a real team player, and those pesky cats? Well, he's too smart to bother with them. He's diligently working on his housetraining manners and wears a fancy belly band until he's mastered it all. But for a former drive-thru aficionado, he's adjusting beautifully to the cozy comforts of home life, complete with his very own spot and foster humans who adore him for exactly who he is! With a heart full of gratitude for his newfound safety, regular meals, and understanding and loving people, McDaddy is more than ready for his forever companion, whether it's a friend for your dog or a package deal with his lovely sister, McMuffin. So, if you're ready to add a dash of love and happiness to your life, don't leave McDaddy at the drive-thru! Swing by and let him be the perfect addition to your family. And don't forget to check out his stunning sister, McMuffin-she's head over paws for her foster home too! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Meet the incredible Izzy, although she's also known as Samantha, a true American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart as big as the open plains. Izzy's journey hasn't been the easiest, but her unwavering love and loyalty shine bright. With eyes that sparkle like stars, Izzy is the kind of companion that makes every car ride an adventure. She loves hopping in and taking her spot in the backseat, right between her favorite humans, ready to share the road with you. She's a cuddle enthusiast, known to flop down next to you just to feel close and get her fair share of affection. Izzy is well-behaved and knows the importance of a schedule, making potty breaks a breeze. She's kennel trained, but her curious nature and intelligence can sometimes turn her into a bit of an escape artist. She's full of love and a big fan of chew toys, treats, and special puppucinos to celebrate the good times. However, she does get nervous if left alone for too long, stemming from her early days when she waited by a ditch until kind humans came to her rescue. Izzy's heart overflows with love for her people, but she's still working on building trust with male figures due to her past experiences. She's not only great with other dogs, often rolling around in the grass, but she can also tolerate feline friends. However, her feelings towards other cats are unpredictable. And beware, she has a knack for letting everyone know when it's her turn for a potty break with her unique, loud cry. While she's an excellent leash walker, her excitement sometimes gets the best of her, leading her to try and take the lead. But with the right training and a bit more time, she's sure to overcome this small quirk. Izzy is a remarkable girl, full of love and a testament to the resilience of animals. If you're seeking a loyal and loving companion who's come a long way, Izzy is the one for you. She's more than just a dog; she's a treasured family member waiting for her forever home. Are you ready to welcome her into your heart and home? Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

I'm Mila, a lowrider American Staffordshire terrier mix, medium sized (39#), female dog looking for my forever home! I used to have a nice owner who could take care of me but he had to give me up for unexpected reasons. I'm a bit quirky and love to tilt my head whenever you speak or interact with me, I'm really interested in what your telling me! My coat is a beautiful dark grey with a white stripe down my face and belly. Mila is a very sweet girl, who just didn't get the right family the first time around, but we LOVE second chances and so does Mila :) She is a goofy and happy girl and loves kids. She will make someone a great family dog! Rale, Kris and Lexi are her hb champions. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
PUPDATE 9.16.23 Ferguson here checking in from MNBR. My Foster mom likes to call me Fergs, Fergie, Ferg, I don’t care because I can’t hear her as longs as she doesn’t call me late for dinner. I really don’t like it when other dogs walk up on me from behind me. Because I can’t hear them coming this tends to scare me and I can react. I love food and have some food and attention aggression. If I think another furbaby is getting more than me, I can get jealous. It says I should be in a home as an only dog; however, I have been living with a foster brother for about a month and doin’ pretty well. As long as you keep your eyes on me and know my signs, I think I could live with another fursibling. I love to cuddle and give love. When you start petting me, I will not let you go until I am ready. I will let know this by a couple of friendly barks AKA reminders.  As my foster from Kentucky said I love to play, and I have been having a great time with my foster brother. I haven’t really been interested in toys, but this could change. Sometimes I get so excited I become an ankle biter, but if you grab my attention, I know I need to calm down.  I was able to make it to Forrest’s Garage Sale and meet a lot of new people. I did really good. I got to meet a couple kids and was a perfect gentleman!! I love going for rides, and do great in cars. I have the “lean” down while going around corners:) My Foster mom thinks this is funny.   Jaymi Heimbuch once said “Every white hair is one day of experience in being the very best friend you’ve ever had.” I got a lot of them and ready to be YOUR BEST FRIEND!!!  NEW TO RESCUE 8.18.23 I've been in foster care in Kentucky while I wait for my ride to MNBR. I'm the sweetest, goofy fellow who just wants to be loved and cuddled. I dance when I'm excited! I need to be the only dog. I get jealous with sharing attention. I would love playdates and walks with friends though! I don't do well with the cats - I tend to chase them. I'm free roam and fully housetrained. I like to play with toys! I do get into the garbage every once in a while. I will counter surf because I'm very food motivated. I love to snuggle in need with you. I would do best with a fenced yard. I'm good with kids, but respectful kids of course. I'm perfect on a leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 14, 2024, 3:52 pm

I'm pretty great if I do say so myself. I'm good with other dogs. I love anyone and anything that shows me attention. Admittedly, I'm leary of men but once I sniff them I warm up quickly. I tolerate cats, but don't love them. I'm housetrained, crate trained, good at the vets, and like car rides. Story
Hey friends, I'm Cooper! I'm an awesome boy with quite a story. Pull up a chair and let's read about me. I was surrendered to MNBR in June because my owner got a job promotion with a lot of travel and wasn't going to be able to care for me. I basically was going to be kenneled three weeks out of the month so my owner did the right thing by surrendering me. I took the long journey from Michigan to my foster home in Minnesota. My foster home included parents and a small dog companion to play with. I did really well there. I was pretty perfect at their house actually and considered "move- in ready". I was just your average 2.5yo boxer boy. I was soon adopted by a really nice couple. Turns out, my perfect behavior in my foster home was me putting on a front. Deep down I was really insecure. The more comfortable I became with my new parents, the more comfortable I felt trying to communicate my insecurities, fears and anxieties. As you know, a dog communicates with their eyes, body language, growling, etc. One day, the constant barking from the neighbor's dogs got the best of me and I shamefully lost my little mind. In my attempt to jump the fence, my mom grabbed me (as one does), and when my tootsies got back to the ground I grabbed my mom's arm. I let go but then grabbed the other one and didn't want to let go. Luckily, she was wearing a sweatshirt and I didn't bite through it, but she did have bruising and naturally, the whole incident scared her. My parents called the rescue and back I came. They are good people so no hate; I just needed professional help. I've been in a board & train the last few months getting the help I needed. I've learned that I love routine. If I know what to exepect and the steps I need to take to complete a task, my insecurities are at bay. I've learned I don't like other dogs if they're in my face barking or pawing at me and very hyper. I prefer calm dogs that don't peer pressure me into an activity I'm uncomfortable with and just purely are there to co-exist. I've learned I don't like raised voices, please no yelling as it scares me. I've learned that just because I don't know someone I shouldn't assume they're going to do me harm and I don't need to bark at them. What can I say, I'm a sensitive, emotional guy. My ideal owner truly loves rescue dogs and all that we have to offer. My ideal owner provides a daily routine, physical exercise, and healthy, mental stimulation. My ideal owner is willing to set boundaries for me and also learn my boundaries. My ideal owner will respect me, not baby me. And last but not least, my ideal owner is willing to learn my communication style and be attentive to it so we can both be successful in our relationship. Most relationships fail for poor communication, am I right?  My ideal home has a yard and is quiet.  And if I'm being honest, my ideal home is probably me as the only pet, but maybe has a friend with a calm, unobtrusive, walking buddy that we meet up with from time to time. Can you give me a chance? If we're being real, aren't we all a little screwed up, insecure, and grossly imperfect? And don't we all need that beastie who is there for us celebrating our wins and calling us out on our crazy? *Cooper will come with transition sessions with his trainer to help make sure he has a successful transition to his new home as well as being able to communicate with the trainer before meeting Cooper. We love him and are ecstatic he is ready to find his forever family! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 14, 2024, 3:52 pm
