This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 121 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up to date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence, and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He also has an obsession with deer! For that reason, a privacy fence would be ideal if you have deer around your home. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides". Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! Meet Oso — A Big Sweet Boy Who Deserves a Second Chance Oso is a handsome male Anatolian Shepherd who has already shown us what a wonderful dog he can be. Neutered and currently weighing about 95 pounds, Oso is unfortunately very underweight and needs a family who will help him get healthy and back to his proper weight. Through no fault of his own, Oso was surrendered to a kill shelter. We suspect someone may have gotten this beautiful boy as a puppy and, once he grew into the large dog he was meant to become, decided they no longer wanted him. Whatever happened, Oso didn't ask to lose his home. Despite the upheaval in his life, Oso has remained sweet, cooperative, and remarkably good-natured. He's done well with people and has shown that he can be a wonderful companion. He's also okay with cats and appears to do well with female dogs. He isn't a fan of male dogs, so a home with a compatible female dog—or as the only dog—would likely be the best fit. Oso is a big dog with an even bigger heart, and he needs someone who understands large-breed dogs and appreciates what comes with sharing a home with an Anatolian Shepherd. He needs a person willing to give him time, patience, good food, and the opportunity to settle in and show just how special he really is. Right now, Oso needs more than just a place to live. River is a 5-6 yo mixed breed dog who was abandoned with 3 housemates in November of 2025. River has been fostered with 2 dogs and can meet others with slow introductions. River cannot live with cats, squirrels or birds- that’s to say that he can be movement driven. But he is working in impulse control and leash manners. He lived most of his life in a yard for exercise but has shown improvement with leash walks. River is very smart and likes to work his training sessions. He knows sit, down, wait, leave it and stay. We are working in place and touch. He is also great with scent games and find it. He’s sweet and snuggly and likes his stuffy and chew toys as wells as Slow feeders, snuffle mats and a baby pool full of balls. He may get the zoomies for a few minutes of play but he’s mostly low energy. He mostly just wants to be your companion. Radio, hairdryers, vacuums he could care less! River just wants HIS PERSON! We have had Shadow since she was a baby that was found on the side of the road. She gets along with bigger dogs but plays rough. She doesn’t play well with small dogs as she doesn’t realize her size. Will not tolerate cats. She was born around 9/18/2024. Shadow would benefit having plenty of yard and someone to play with a lot of the day. She is crate trained and would come with a crate and all of her belongings. She also likes to chew on everything. She also loves kids but can get a little rough with the younger they are but shows no aggression.
