Story
Jax came to us as an owner surrender after his humans went through some life changes. Jax has been an adaptable guy, quietly taking in all of his new surroundings. Jax has had a lot of change in his life and understandably, he takes some time to warm up to new people. Once he does, he likes to be nearby, quietly following behind. So far, Jax has been a quiet, go-with-the-flow guy. He loves his barn time with his favorite cuddlers and has found a safe, corner spot where he perches and observes his surroundings. With each day, he’s getting more and more confident and we can’t wait to see more of the true Jax!

Ready to learn. Loves people. Red Speckled Australian Stumpy Tailed/Cattle dog mix Contact Hollie 707-321-5022 or dollielamafarm [at] yahoo [dot] com  Puppy is a handsome, red Stumpy Tail Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) mix. He was picked up as a stray on July 30th. We thought he would be claimed quickly bc he was so sweet and good looking.  That is why we didn’t name him. We have called a variety of names: (full) Monty, Dingo Boy, Mr. Camo-Pants… mostly just “Puppy”.  The vet estimates him to be about 11 months old (11/20/2024) presently.  Puppy is aggressively friendly. He wants to say hi to every person and animal we come across on our walks or who comes to the house. He’s quite cheerful, smart, and eager to learn. What little training I have done with him is with the assistance of treat rewards.  He loves to be outside - running around, grazing on grass, or just sitting in the sunshine. Mornings are his active time requiring a good deal of attention, and he seems to settle down for naps more easily in the afternoon. In the evening he likes to sit with family on the couch to watch TV and get belly rubs. That said, he doesn’t quite grasp the concept of personal space. He believes himself to be a cat-sized lap dog.  Speaking of cats, we have an older female who confines herself to the master bedroom. Puppy will want to go in and say hi. She responds with hissing, meowing, and swiping if he gets too close. It did not look as if he wanted to attack her at all. He’s just curious.  He can be left home alone for a few hours during the day. This only happens about once every couple weeks. As far as toys go, he’s destroyed and tried to eat all things furry within hours. We limit him to Nyla bones and a couple of hard to destroy balls.  We put him in a kennel to sleep at night. He resists going in but doesn’t complain for the rest of the time once he’s in. He does great on a people bed, too, but wants to be let out too early in the morning for my grown kids’ taste when they’re here. He will tolerate a shower but doesn’t care to be towel dried.  Puppy is housebroken, neutered, and vaccinated (not chipped). He deserves a good home with someone to give him attention, training, enrichment, companionship, and room to run.   March 10, 2025, 11:51 pm

Please contact Lucinda (lucinda@northbaycanine.org) for more information about this pet. This animal is at North bay Canine Rescue and Placement  Ella aka El, is a very special pup, looking for a very special home.   She loves her person unconditionally, but is fearful of everyone else.  She's looking for a home with little to no people traffic, or high intensity household chaos.  El is incredibly smart, funny, playful, charming, affectionate & overall adorable.  She's just afraid of her own shadow.  El's had basic obedience, is great on a leash & loves to go out for walks or hikes.  She hasn't had much car time & so far doesn't seem to be fond of it.  She's got a bit of drive, so most likely wont be good (loose)with Livestock, chickens, or goats.  She is fine with cats tho, & is pals with the 2 Weimaraner dogs she's gotten to know.  She would make an awesome hiking partner, as she's small (35+#), and agile & fit.  Ella is in a home with a lot of people traffic currently & is coping, but we feel we can do better for her.  She is house broken, crate trained & a wonderful girl.  Call: 707-321-5022 or write: lucindalnf@gmail.comJuly 29, 2025, 7:29 pm

Story
Maybe is the cuddliest, most loyal girl you'll ever meet. She does great with most dogs, knows basic commands and can be taught pretty much anything, uses potty bells & understands a surprising amount of language. She’s good on a leash, a great roadtrip buddy & as active as you want her to be. Once she trusts you, she is an absolute cuddlebug. She needs a child-free, cat-free home with few visitors & someone willing to put in the time to earn her trust. She listens & does fine in a fenced yard or in a bedroom. She does great at her doggy daycare. We tried every way to make it work with our new baby, but it isn’t possible. I just know there has to be an experienced dog person out there who would make a perfect second and final home for my sweet girl. She’s very well behaved, but her challenges are new people, prey drive & some herding behavior. I’ve worked with many trainers and behaviorists (never a vet behaviorist) and would be happy to pay for more training for the right adopter.

Story
Benny is an amazing 1 year old mix of Great Pyrenees, Australian Shepherd, Siberian Husky, Border Collie, German Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog. He is house trained, crate trained, good on leash, knows sit, stay, lay down, shake, hand touches, and off. Benny loves other dogs and would enjoy being with another dog but is good as an only dog too. He would do better with no cats but has lived with them. He knows to be gentle with kids but is still young and gets excited and jumps at times. He is not a fan of swimming and likes women more than men. He is the sweetest boy who loves to play with his toys, chew a bone, and cuddle up for a nap, with a pillow of course. He has a lot of energy and needs more attention than I can give him right now. He would love a yard to run around and play fetch in. He’s a super smart, sweet boy looking for his perfect match.
