Story
Lily is an active, full-throttle kind of girl! Grab life by the horns and run with it... or grab a big stick rather ! She LOVES running and chasing sticks, the bigger the better!!l She is super confident, a bit bossy, and selective about the company she keeps. Lily isn't a social butterfly, she would love a home with a couple active adults who don't have a ton of social activity in the home. She will protect, and maybe get possessive if allowed, so best to keep some boundaries with her! Smart, athletic girl who needs dog savvy folks with a yard and time to provide lots of love, play time (big sticks!) and ongoing training and stimulation. She doesn't love crowds, so no dog parks for Lily. Experienced dog-savvy applicants ONLY. Thank you for considering adoption of a Milo Foundation Sanctuary dog. Our Sanctuary is where our rescued dogs who have had difficulty in a home in the past, have behavioral issues, or too much energy, or for some, aggression issues with other dogs, or intense stranger danger that make them more difficult to safely and happily live in urban environments. These are not beginner dogs or for the most part nor are they for families with children. IF you are looking for an easy dog to add to your family, we suggest looking at the dogs at our Adoption Center, Milo Pt Richmond. BUT, if you can offer a safe and nurturing home to a dog with some behavioral "quirks" please do send an application today. Thank you.

Story
Dinah is a beautiful 3 year old cattle dog girl. She is shy at first and takes some time to adjust. Once she feels comfortable she loves to give hugs and be by her person. She can be a little nippy at times, which is typical of the cattle dog breed given what they are bred for. Dinah is great at playing fetch and will drop the ball at your feet. She would love a family who could play ball with her! She would be better with dog savvy kids because of this or good in an adult only home. If you are interested in meeting this cute cattle girl, please fill out an application on our website.

Story
Tony is a sweet, handsome, goofy, and energetic lovebug! He wants nothing more than to play with his people and other dogs. He seems completely unbothered by the loss of one of his front legs, this boy is ready for action and love! Tony has been a longterm resident, coming to Milo in February of 2025, injured, alone and afraid. He was quickly given the care that he needed, receiving a pricey leg amputation to diminish his paid. Despite the traumas that Tony went through, that we will never know and can probably never imaging, Tony keeps his tail held high not giving up on finding his fuever family. Tony sees every person and dog as a friend and potential playmate. He has learned how to navigate the world with his new body and to walk on a leash with good manners, he is getting really good at "sit". He is also quickly learning that his crate is a happy place and does very well once inside and loves a good chewy toy or treat. Tony would be best in a home with a person/people who will nurture him with lots of love, exercise and continued training; he so badly wants to show that he's the goodest three-legged boy ever! He is extremely food motivated so training should be fun and effective. Tony has endless potential and is ready to show the world that tripods rule! Apply today to meet this wonderful boy!

Story
Meet Rusty 🐾 Rusty is a sweet, thoughtful pup who blossoms best with a canine friend by his side. He’s happiest in a home with another dog, taking comfort and confidence from having a buddy to show him the ropes. With medium energy, Rusty enjoys a nice balance of playtime and relaxation. A quick learner, Rusty is eager to please once he feels comfortable and will thrive with patient, positive guidance. He can be a bit shy at first and needs time to adjust, but give him space and consistency and you’ll see his gentle personality shine through. Rusty does well with other dogs and would be a great fit for a home with dog-savvy children ages 13+ who understand how to respect his boundaries. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will grow more confident every day—especially with a furry sibling—Rusty could be your perfect match. 💛

Story
Hi there, I'm Ravioli! I'm a thoughtful Cattle Dog who's looking for a quiet home where I can slowly unfurl my heart. The world can feel big and bright to me, so I need someone who will meet me with a soft voice and a patient spirit. I promise, the reward for your patience will be my complete and utter devotion. When I'm unsure, I like to lean—quite literally. Once I trust you, my favorite thing is to lean my whole weight against your legs, a quiet way of saying, "You're my person." I am incredibly affectionate and eager to learn, especially when you reward me with gentle praise and kind touches. I already know "sit," and I'm a quick learner who’s ready to master so much more with you. I have a good amount of energy and a smart mind that both need daily exercise. Long walks on my leash (which I'm very good with!) and puzzle games will help me be my best self. I get along well with other polite dogs, and I would likely do best with dog-savvy children over 10 who understand to let me come to them in my own time. I'm not the dog who will run into your arms on day one. But I am the dog who will slowly become your most loyal shadow, your quiet companion on adventures, and the steadfast friend who leans against you at the end of every day. My perfect home is a calm, active haven without a lot of hustle and bustle. If you have the patience to let love grow slowly, I promise to fill your life with a deep and steady warmth. Are you the gentle, understanding person I've been waiting for?

Story
Hi, I'm Gemelli! I'm a sweet Queensland Heeler girl with a thoughtful spirit and a playful heart that's just waiting to bloom. I may not rush up to you right away—new people and places make me a little shy, so I need you to approach me gently and give me time to adjust. But when I do, my whole world becomes about you. I am a very quick learner, especially when you teach me with soft words and gentle affection, because your praise is my favorite reward. I have a wonderful playfulness that comes out when I feel safe! I love to run and chase, and I find cats to be fascinating playmates for a fun, friendly chase. I also get along great with other dogs, so a canine sibling could be a wonderful friend for me. My ideal home is a calm, active family with a secure yard for play. I would do best with older, dog-savvy children who know how to be gentle and patient with a shy girl like me. I need someone who will give me the space to come out of my shell, and the consistent, loving guidance to help me thrive. In return, I will offer you unwavering loyalty, a quiet companionship on all your adventures, and a playful spirit ready for games of chase. I am looking for a patient hero—someone who understands that the deepest bonds are built slowly, with kindness. If you have a quiet home, a gentle heart, and love to give, I promise to be your most devoted friend. Are you ready to meet me?
