Meet Macaroni! Macaroni is a 6 year old, Australian Cattle Dog - Healer Mix. She is approximately 40 pounds. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and has no known health issues. She was surrendered to Tuxedo Hearts after having some issues with the dog in her previous home. She was rescued by her prior owner, and lived with that family for 8 months. The dogs were okay at first, but then they started having issues. We sent Macaroni to the very best for a behavioural consultation and training - Tammy at Happy Trails Training. She has been in an intensive 8 week program. She truly is a wonderful dog and has done beautifully with her training. She’s very sweet and affectionate. Loves to cuddle! She is great with children. Prior to coming to Tuxedo Hearts she did live with a family that had children. She walks great on leash and behaves appropriately. After Tammy’s assessment and training, it has been decided that Macroni should be an only dog. Macaroni does get along with other dogs in a social setting, however her energy can be a little much for another dog, especially when it comes to food. She has been doing well in training playgroup but can be pushy with some of the other dogs. She would make a wonderful companion!

Story
Joey is a 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog looking for a home that truly understands her breed. Joey is very smart, active, and loyal, and she thrives with structure, training, and a “job” to do. Her current family loves her but did not realize how much time, guidance, and activity a working breed needs, so they’re doing the right thing by helping her find a more suitable home. Joey will do best with an experienced herding/working-breed home or someone committed to training and providing daily physical and mental exercise. Joey is ready to be someone’s devoted partner. All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet. Breed and size is frequently a guess and can not be guaranteed. Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl. Initial contact with us must be made through e-mail. E-mail ARFofMercer@gmail.com directly for an adoption application or with any questions. Once your adoption application is approved, you will be invited to meet our dogs/puppies.

Story
Jake is a 2-year-old, 57-pound Heeler/Lab mix with a heart full of love and a spirit made for adventure. Whether he’s hiking a trail, going for a walk, or playing a good game of fetch, Jake is always ready to tag along. He’s terrific on the leash and adores being outdoors, though he’ll happily curl up for snuggles when the day winds down. Jake is an all-around sweetheart who loves other dogs. He has a special place in his heart for teddies, balls, and anything soft he can cuddle or chew. Jake came from a difficult start as a stray and was rescued just in time from a shelter’s kill list. Because of his past trauma, he tends to be anxious and cannot be crated or kenneled. However, he truly thrives when he has both human and canine companionship. Spending some time in doggy daycare recently, he showed no signs of anxiety. Therefore, it would be best for Jake to go to a loving home with at least one other dog, as having a furry friend nearby makes him feel confident, secure, and happy. Within a structured routine and the freedom to settle in a safe space, Jake does beautifully. Loud noises can make him nervous, and car rides are not his favorite. But offer him a puppy cup or doggie ice cream, and he is instantly happy. He is also a star at the vet, even earning a Best Patient Award for his calm, gentle nature. Jake is gentle and communicative rather than a barker or a fighter. When he wants something, he might bring you his bowl or do a little happy jump to let you know. He is grateful for every gentle touch and loves nothing more than soft pets, cozy naps, and being close to his people. If you are looking for a loyal, goofy, loving companion who is always up for a walk, a cuddle, or a new adventure, and you have a friendly dog who would love a buddy, Jake is your guy.
