Story
Murphy is an energetic dog who will be 1 on 8/31. She has no breed paperwork, but has been to the vet and has been spayed. We got her to be friends with our other dog, but there are times that they really don’t get along and I think it would be best to find a new home for her. She is house trained but does have accidents sometimes. She loves to chew and we have made sure that she has plenty of chew bones available. She is high energy and has been great with our elementary age children.

Story
Silky soft, snuggly, and eager to please all the people he meets. Oakley is willing to trust new people, show his belly, give kisses. Knows 'sit,' 'lie down,' and getting acquainted with 'stay,' 'leave it,' and 'get down. Very interested in other dogs, but willing to be instructed to 'leave it' and carry on walking when we passed yards or houses with barking dogs. Fairly good on a leash. Very energetic, will be a good companion for someone athletic. But also Willing to hang out quietly while I you work on the computer or watched TV; even willing to ignore the nearby cats most of time. Curious about them but not wanting to interact with them. Before considering him as a pet do research on the breed. He is a herding dog and will try to steer you where he thinks you need to go. This will include nipping at your heels and hands if they are by your side. He will be good with older kids that understand his behavior. He is in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.    July 26, 2024, 7:42 pm

Story
With heavy hearts we need to find a new home for Hazel. We adopted her from Sicsa 3 years ago at 8 weeks old, after a family friend fostered her mom and litter of puppies. She is a sweetie - great with kids, cats, people she knows. Keeps us laughing with her energy and personality. She absolutely loves car rides, walks, playing tug of war and snuggling. She does has anxiety takes medication 2x a day. It seems to take the edge off for her. And she is very territorial. She loves her people and doesn't want anyone to hurt them. Sadly, that's the reason we now need to find her a new home. She has bitten strangers twice and we just don't think we are the right environment for her to stay safe and to keep others safe around her. She would do best with a large privacy fence or in a rural setting where she is not surprised by strangers coming into her yard very often. She has had obedience training, is treat motivated and obeys basic commands. House and crate trained as well!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Brief description: Likes: Playful dog friends, treats, hanging out in her crate, playing outside Dislikes: We haven’t found much she doesn’t like yet Personality: Polly is a wiggly gal who loves to play and is a total snuggle bug. She has a doggy friend at her foster’s home and there isn’t a play they won’t play together. She is friendly toward all people, affectionate and not vocal. She rides well in the car and is crate trained. She seems to have natural herding skills. Energy level: Middle energy with bouts of high energy (play) Favorite activities: Playing with her doggy friend (for hours and hours), racing around the yard, snuggling on the couch. She likes toys and treats and of course toys with treats (kongs). Good with cats, dogs, and kids (over 6)?: Foster has 4 kids aged 4-11 and she is wonderful with all of them, in fact she hasn’t met a human she doesn’t like and seek affection from! She is fabulous with her foster doggy friend and would like to have a dog friend at her forever home (preferred, not required). Not good with: (Cats? Dogs? Strangers? Men? Kids?) She is extremely curious about the cats in her foster home; cats are leery of her, strongly suggest a home without cats. Housetrained: Mostly Crate trained: Absolutely! Requires a fenced yard (physical fence and/or invisible fence)?: If owner is active a fence is probably not required. Walks well on a leash?:  Yes Challenges: Any Medical issues?: None known What would be the best kind of home?: A wide variety of homes would be a good fit for Polly. She is an easy going gal who would ideally have a dog friend to play with. A family with kids or an active single person would be a fine place for Polly. No cats would be best. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed.
