She is a playful pup who absolutely loves having a doggy friend to romp around with, and she has been having a blast with her foster family’s resident dog. When playtime is over, she’s more than happy to curl up for some serious snuggles. She has also been wonderful with her foster family’s kids, ages 12 and 14, making her a fun and loving addition to the family. Like any young pup, she’s still working on a few things. She is continuing to learn her potty-training skills, isn’t quite comfortable walking on a leash yet, and is still learning that her crate is a safe and cozy place to be. The good news? She has already made progress and is no longer barking when she has to go in! She came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of her own, and now she’s ready to leave the past behind and find a loving family to call her own. According to her previous owner, Athena has done well with kids and other dogs. She is crate trained and is still working on housebreaking, so her new family should be prepared to continue helping her learn and build a consistent routine. Athena already knows how to sit, and if you have treats, you’re sure to get her attention—this girl loves her snacks! Her love of treats may come in handy as she continues learning new things with her future family. At just a year old, Athena has lots of life ahead of her and is looking for a family who will give her the time, love, and guidance she needs to settle in and thrive. Athena did great for her exam and weighed in at 47 lbs. She was given Bordetella, dewormed, microchipped, and tested heartworm negative. A family that can provide mental stimulation and daily exercise .A patient family wiling to give her time to adjust and continue positive . Pippa is a year and 9 month old Aussie shepherd/terrier mix we rescued from a Chicago area shelter in Feb 2025. She is high energy, curious and loving, finding belly scratches and bully sticks tastes of heaven. She goes to daycare on an as needed basis as when we have all day medical appointments on occasion; she enjoys her time there and all reports is that she gets along with other dogs well. She gets excited meeting people in our home, but is not aggressive. While still young she’s very energetic as we moved last year and we are facing serious medical issues that are keeping us from giving her the opportunities to play, run, go walks and be her. happy-to-be-here self. We think an owner with whom she can bond while still young would be best. She has some skin allergy issues that we are trying to clear right now. Otherwise she’s happy, sweet and likes nothing more than to be with her people. We would like to rehome Pippa within Miami, Montgomery, Darke or Greene counties of Ohio.
