Story
Meet Lorado! He is a 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix who weighs 46 pounds. Lorado is a social butterfly who absolutely loves meeting new people. He is a young and energetic pup who loves to run around and play with his ball, go on long walks, and lounge in the sunshine or on the couch with you. Lorado is a typical cattle dog who loves to herd and can be quite mouthy at times, so he would do best with an owner that has experience with positive reinforcement training and the cattle dog breed. He is a little bundle of energy that loves to explore the world around him, but once he`s settled down is a big snuggle bug. Lorado can be reactive with new dogs, so he needs a slow introduction to new dogs to see if they`d make a good match in his forever home. Lorado will need a home without cats. Due to his tendency to get mouthy when he`s excited, he would do best in a home with kids ages 13 and older. He is a handsome pup who will surely bring plenty of spice into your life!Lorado did spend some time in a foster home for a few days and was reportedly potty trained, however, he will need time and patience to adjust to a new schedule. They also reported that he loves to ride in the car and go for walks on his long line! If Lorado looks like the pup for you, stop in today at the Humane Society of Summit County at 752 West Portage Trail, Akron, Ohio.

Story
Meet Nancy!Nancy is a four year old, 53 pound, female Cattle Dog Mix looking for that perfect person, or family, who can give her the gentle love and care she needs to feel safe and blossom into a happy house pup! Nancy is a shy and sensitive gal, who can be quite fearful of new people and places. She needs more time than the average pup to adjust to her environment and feel safe before showing off her personality. She is looking for a human who understands this sensitive nature and is able to build her trust up slowly.Once Nancy feels safe, she will begin to show off her active and playful side. A Cattle Dog Mix, Nancy would do best in an active household and with a human, or family, who can keep up with her energy levels and take her for plenty of walks and hikes. Nancy may not be a social butterfly, but once she feels safe with a human, she can be quite sweet.Nancy shows potential to live with a pup in her forever home, but she can be very insecure with new canine companions. She would need a slow introduction to any pup pals living in her forever home in order to ensure that both she and her new canine companion feel safe and comfortable as they adjust to each other`s presence. If there are children in her forever home, Nancy would do best with those aged 13-16+ who are able to understand her sensitivity and give her time and space when she needs it.Looking to give a sweet but shy pup the calm, caring, and understanding home she needs to transform into a happy house pup? Nancy may be the dog for you! Stop by the Humane Society of Summit County today to meet her, or call (330) 487-0333 ext. 803 for more info!

Story
Say hello to Koda, a stunning blue heeler mix who is basically sunshine wrapped in fur. At just 7 months old and already weighing 55 pounds, this girl is well on her way to becoming a big, beautiful, full-grown adventure buddy.Koda came to us as an owner surrender when her family had to relocate for work, but she hasn’t let that dim her sparkle one bit. This girl is FUN, FUN, FUN! Seriously—if there’s excitement happening, Koda is already there, tail wagging and ready to join in. Whether it’s a hike, a game of fetch, or zoomies in the yard, she’s always up for it.She’s got a permanent smile on her face (yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds) and a personality that lights up every room she enters. Koda is crate trained, reported to be good with other dogs, and children, but NO cats please. He has a high energy level that makes her the perfect match for an active home.Koda is available for adoption. She’s been spayed, microchipped, and updated on vaccines—everything she needs to start her new life safe, healthy, and loved. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this energetic, happy, adventure-loving girl, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online adoption application for Koda. Her adoption fee is $160.Koda is ready to run, play, and love her way straight into your life!

Story
Izzy needs a new home! Beautiful 5 years old spayed female 1/2 Blue Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog the other half combo?. We are retiring and moving and Izzy deserves a yard, some outdoor daily fun and continued love. This is hard for us but we would like to re-home into someone else’s loving arms and home. She is up to date on all shots and sees a Vet regularly. Izzy eats well, sleeps well and goes to doggie play place several times a week and runs with her buddies. She deserves to be with someone or some couple that enjoys the outdoors. At large dog parks she runs So fast and loves the outdoor life. We would love for her to have that kind of day. We never leave her outside alone. She is a family dog with lots of love to offer. Her recall Is great and treats get any positive behavior. We walk 3-4 times a day and she catches frisbees in our yard with us. She is great in car. She is not meant to be with kids under 10ish. She’s a beauty!

Story
TEDDY 5YRS 33LBS MALE AUS CATTLE DOG LISA 3YR 21 LBS FEMALE MIX MUST HAVE ACD/HERDING BREED EXPERIENCE BONDED PAIR-Ever wanted a dog for you and a dog for your sig other but were afraid of clashing personalities? Well, not here because these two love each other, a LOT, so at least you know they get along perfectly and there is one for each of you. 2x the love!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And man, are they CUTE!) They travel often in the car with me for over an hour at a time - they do ride crated. Load up easy and ride quietly- unless we go through a drive through then Lisa has opinions about what she wants too. She likes to play ball, but not as intense as Teddy and will just let him get it and go find something else to do. They play and wrestle with each other and other dogs. Not overly rough but will get on ground with each other. They love to run laps in the yard chasing each other. They leave my uninterested dogs alone, as there is always someone else to play with. Lisa did not get along with my 1 male foster - just a little 10 pounder . Not sure who to started the war, but I did not leave them loose with each other * no actual fight/injury/contact ever occured. There was alot of noise 1 time, and they would grumble at each other when passing by each other's crates/run at work. Teddy is pretty easy going but doesn't like to be corrected. He will get bossy -verbal and pin someone who tries to But a sharp HEY from me and he will stop and walk away * never has been a fight or injury. Loves to play fetch and the other dogs do not challenge him to get the ball away from him. He would definitely destroy a stuffed toy if given the chance. They both love to chew on antlers/ nylabones/Benebone etc Teddy is a super cuddler and happy to hang on the couch or bed. Lisa loves attention too but takes a bit more to settle down at first. Both settle quickly and Quietly in a crate. They are both jumpers and when seeking attention. They have gotten better, but would need to be reminded of their manners going forward. We do not require a fenced BUT they would need a secure area to be able to run in and burn off energy weekly. Crate trained and housebroken   This animal is up to date on all shots, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. They have been heartworm tested (negative) and on prevention.  The adoption fee is $400.00 for the pair.
