Story
Hiya, I'm Link! A young boy like me is always ready for adventure, however I am looking for a partner that can take me through the serious training that I'll need in order to be adventure ready. As I was a stray, I can be a bit nervous with new people and I will let you know it. I'm not a fan of sharing my items and I'm picky with my dog friends too, although I may be good with the right one. I enjoy chin scratches and resting with my friends, but I don't enjoy cuddles. I'm looking for a home where all household residents are over 15, as I'm really looking for a family that is dedicated to making sure I succeed in my adventures. If you're interested in devoting time to have the best partner around, please stop by the shelter to meet me. ---This animal is available by appointment only. Please reach out to schedule a visit with one of his handlers!---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Hi there, my name's Hennessy! I came to the shelter as a stray and I am pretty nervous being in this environment. I am looking for a home that ideally has cattle dog / herding breed experience because I can be aloof and weary of new people. I will need patience to fully come out of my shell and be a happier, more social pup. I do ask that any children in the home be 8 and older, as I do tend to spook easily. I am open to possibly living with another dog with proper introduction too. I am not sure how I feel about cats, and heelers do typically have a prey drive, but I may be able to live with one that is confident around dogs, or can easily be kept separate. I am a nervous nelly right now, but with enough treats and TLC I am sure to become a wonderful companion. I hope to meet you soon! ---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 8/20/24 Aldo’s ideal home has another dog for him to play with and/or a fenced yard where he can burn off some energy. A home without other dogs or fenced yard will still be considered! We just want the right fit for Aldo. He is half Cattle dog and demonstrates the cattle dog energy and traits. Aldo has been available since February and is still waiting. His foster family loves him but he really needs to find his forever home. Unfortunately the 6mo-1 year old dogs are just not popular among adopters. He is a really cool, fun dog. He is sweet and friendly. He loves people! If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog or if you need a buddy to join you on hikes, runs, or walks, Aldo would be a great choice! Facebook doesn’t like when we ask for S.H.A.R.E.S. But….they are very important in helping dogs to find homes. So if you all could do the thing facebook doesn’t like us to ask for…You never know who on your friends list may be looking for a dog. BREED A DNA test done on his sister shows he is 51% Australian Cattle Dog, 34% German Shepherd, 1% Collie, 1% Bohemian Shepherd, 8% Husky, 3% Chow, and 2% Chihuahua. He's about 40-45 pounds currently and we don't expect him to get much bigger. He is short and has the build of a Cattle dog. KIDS He recently met some young children when he was out for an ice cream with his foster mom. He was good with them though he does jump and may knock smaller kiddos over out of playfulness/excitement. He LOVES people! He’s also been good with 12 year old kids that he has spent time with. DOGS Yes, he is good with other dogs. He LOVES to play! He does play a little rough and needs a proper introduction. CATS Probably not. We think he’d be a bit too rough on cats and risk their safety. AGE Estimated DOB 11/1/23. OTHER He LOVES tennis balls He will entertain himself with them if no nobody wants to play. He usually brings them back if you throw them. He LOVES people! He is crate trained and very close to being house trained. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate too! He needs work on leash training. He is a busy boy who will need someone to give him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He has the Cattle dog energy. He hasn't been on a lot of car rides but has done well on the few he's been on. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. In New England. Story
This girl is 26 pounds of energy and love. She had to be captured by the local animal control officer and was prettified. She was lunging and growling and very upset. But something in her eye just pleaded for me to help her. So I picked her up from the shelter and brought her home where George (our cat) helped me show her that humans and other animals are good. George helped her calm down and let her guard down and after about an hour she was giving me lots of kisses. She is hilarious and is definitely a lover. She may need a couple of minutes to feel safe, but once she does, she is glued to you. She is extremely smart, loves to go for rides, walks and hikes or any adventure (we went kayaking) She prefers not to be left alone as she does have some separation anxiety. This little girl is ready for her happily ever after. Please visit funnyfarmpets.org to read all about our TN based rescue and how the adoption process works. Her adoption fee is $325 and if transport is necessary that is an additional $200 We are hoping to find her someone local to TN. She is a special girl who will need a special mom or dad to navigate through her fears. I may end up writing a book about her as she has given me lots of great stories.
