Story
Windy is going to be a whole lot of fun for some lucky family. She is VERY adventurous, VERY active, VERY outgoing and has a zest for life. She is a friendly and happy girl as well and seems to love everyone that she meets. She really enjoys the outdoors too, so if you need a hand with the cattle, a hiking partner or running partner, I think she’ll be a good one. Given her activity level, she will need to be adopted by a fun and ACTIVE family. Windy didn’t come to us alone either, she came with her four puppies, which have already been adopted. Now that she has fulfilled her motherly duties it’s her turn for a better life. She is 4-5 years old and weighs 35-40 pounds. She has been spayed, 4DX heartworm tested, microchipped, fecal tested and is current on all vaccinations, worming and on heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $400. Windy is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted she will be transported to her pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and her fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine since we can’t adopt directly to those states.

Story
Meet Freckles - she's cute, playful, and full of love! She is eager to please, and treat motivated. This friendly and energetic girl is a young adult dog, she is smart, trainable and an energetic girl. Freckles is a bit more dominant with dogs smaller than she is, she wants to "herd" them so she would do best with dogs her size or larger, otherwise she would be great as an only dog with plenty of time with her people. Freckles is a smart cookie who loves to explore, so she's looking for an active person or family who can keep up with her. She would be great as a hiking companion, or a dog you want to take with you on outings. -Freckles would do well with some additional training, she is very trainable. -SMART girl -Estimated to be a year old and in the 35 lb range - Not ideal for a home with young toddlers. -Energetic - needs both physical and mental stimulation -Does well on the leash If you're interested in adopting Freckles, please fill out an adoption application to get the process started! **********PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT FRECKLES ********** Please COPY and PASTE the following URL for the adoption application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FPSL/Dog COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. Please note that our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them if adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved. We are USDA certified, and WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, Microchip, heartworm tested, Mississippi Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible.*** We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents.

Story
Hello, I`m Donnie! I am a handsome young lad looking for a new lease on life. I ended up at the shelter as a stray after being caught while on the lam. I am a timid pup and take some time to be comfortable with people. I have some handling sensitivity and ask that any children in the home be 13 and older, who will respect my boundaries. I really am a sweetheart, but need time and patience to build up my confidence and trust. I have been pretty nervous around other dogs, but may be able to live with one that is laidback and smaller than me. I am not sure how I feel about cats but my breed is known for having a high prey drive, so it may not be the ideal fit. I have had some training under my belt, and all I really want is a family to call my own, to provide companionship for the rest of my life!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Hiya, I`m Link!A young boy like me is always ready for adventure, however I am looking for a partner that can take me through the serious training that I`ll need in order to be adventure ready. As I was a stray, I can be a bit nervous with new people and may take some time to make new friends. Once warm up I am a goofy ball of energy and love affection. I would enjoy the company of another dog that can handle my heeler energy and bouncy personality. I do ask any residence in the home be over 15 as I need work on being more social and am not a fan of sharing my things. If you`re interested in devoting time to have the best partner around, please stop by the shelter to meet me.---This animal is available by appointment only. Please reach out to schedule a visit with one of his handlers!---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Meet Farrah: Farrah is a 12 week old (as of April 24, 2025) heeler mix (best guess) that weighs about 11 pounds. This little litter (Farrah, Fiona, Finley, Fergal) were surrendered by people who could not care for them any longer. Farrah is currently being fostered in the Middletown, PA area and would love to meet her forever family! All 4 pups in this litter are very sweet, friendly and cuddly. Farrah has been good with other dogs, cats and children. Farrah is crate trained and is already doing well with house training, but as a puppy could use patience while they continue to learn. We would love for Farrah to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. Farrah is up to date on her puppy shots and will be spayed when age appropriate. If you are interested in adding this little sweetie into your life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application.
