PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 2/24/24 Still available. 2/3/24 Echo is a super cute, stocky little short guy of unknown heritage. He came into rescue when the person he had been given to realized he had mange. It was a pretty bad case and took a while to clear up, but he's in the clear now and has a beautiful coat! Echo is friendly and good with other dogs. He has not been around cats to our knowledge. Echo is about 3-3 1/2 months old now. He is working on house training and doing really well with it, as long as he is taken out frequently. He weighs about 15 lbs currently, and will probably be around 40 lbs when grown. We do not know his breed. He has been neutered and is utd on vaccs, microchipped, and on heartworm/flea/tick prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 2/3/24 Still available! 11/11/23 Hattie was abandoned along with her 2 sons, when their owner moved away and left them behind. Hattie is a medium size, about 35 lbs. We believe she is a heeler/Australian Shepherd mix, although she does not show any herding tendencies. Hattie is a shy girl and is easily frightened. She has a fear of men especially. She has not shown any aggression, she just tries to hide when she is afraid. Hattie gets along very well with other calm dogs, but rambunctious dogs overwhelm her and she tries to hide from them. Hattie would do best in a calm, quiet home, with people who can be patient and kind to her and help her build her confidence. You can hardly blame her for her fears after she was abandoned like a piece of garbage, and there is no telling what she went through prior to that. She can be very affectionate once she feels safe and secure. In the right home, she will learn that not all humans are cruel, and she will open up to those who show her kindness. Story
Hiya, I'm Link! A young boy like me is always ready for adventure, however I am looking for a partner that can take me through the serious training that I'll need in order to be adventure ready. As I was a stray, I can be a bit nervous with new people and I will let you know it. I'm not a fan of sharing my items and I'm picky with my dog friends too, although I may be good with the right one. I enjoy chin scratches and resting with my friends, but I don't enjoy cuddles. I'm looking for a home where all household residents are over 15, as I'm really looking for a family that is dedicated to making sure I succeed in my adventures. If you're interested in devoting time to have the best partner around, please stop by the shelter to meet me. ---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm. ---?? The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center?? 848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603?? Kennel #16516?? 717-917-6979?? lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Alfie is a sweet (but shy) young cattle dog mix looking for a new home. He came to us with his sisters, Coralee and Anaalee, from a rescue in Mississippi! He is neutered and likes other dogs. Alfie needs someone with patience and understanding. He would do best with some positive training to help build his confidence. Alfie would be okay in a home with older teenagers. If you would like to adopt please fill out an application at www.hillsidespca.com. Alfie would require multiple visits before feeling comfortable with you.

Story
This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. If you are interested in learning more about Kevin (puppy), please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once we review it, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.
