Story
Meet Lily! Lily is a smart, sweet, and spunky 1-year-old Collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix. At just 30 pounds, she’s a petite pup with a velvety-soft coat and a heart-melting expression. Lily gets along well with other dog friends in her home and would thrive with a confident canine companion her size or larger who enjoys a little rough-and-tumble play. Lily would love to have a large yard to run like the wind! A true cattle dog at heart, Lily is intelligent, loyal, and happiest when she has a job to do or someone to bond closely with—she tends to be a “one-person” dog and will happily claim your lap as her favorite seat. She’s crate trained, walks nicely on a leash (with the occasional reminder), and adjusts quickly to new situations once she gets her bearings. Lily would do best in a cat-free home with patient adopters who understand (or are eager to learn about) her working dog instincts. She can be a bit stubborn at times, but with the right structure and stimulation, she’ll be your most devoted sidekick. Her current family is happy to help with the transition and can recommend trainers to set everyone up for success. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and clever companion, Lily may be the perfect match! Fenced yard required. Please apply at houstoncollierescue.org

Story
Adalynn “Addie” is a very sweet, but timid girl. She and her brother were dumped at a park as very young puppies to survive on their own. By miracle, they did for about two weeks until I was able to trap her and have been working with her trusting humans. She has been making amazing progress and we are seeing her adorable personality blossom. Addie is fully vetted, microchipped, crate trained, potty trained, needs some leash training. She would do best with another well balanced medium to larger dog to play with, older kids and she does very well around cats! Addie is going to need a lot of patience and time to adjust to change. If you feel you can offer Addie this, please apply at www.HTXDOGRESCUE.com

Story
Boba is our 2-year-old mini Aussiedoodle, and she’s such a sweet, smart, happy girl. We got her when she was 4 months old, her mom’s a blue merle mini Aussie, and her dad’s a white mini Poodle. She loves playing fetch, learning tricks, going on walks, and hanging out outside while we’re working in the yard. She’s friendly with other animals, her best friend is our 13-year-old cat, loves any chance to play with our 9-year-old daughter. She’s patient, gentle, and just wants to be part of the action. Even though she can get excited, she's not a hyper dog and is perfectly happy to sit around all day. She’s calm and well-behaved, only barks when someone’s at the door, waits quietly when we’re away. She’s potty trained, healthy, up to date on shots, and not spayed. Her thick coat needs regular brushing or grooming or it can dread easily. Since we just had a baby, we want to see if anyone out there appreciates everything she brings and give her a life filled with attention, joy, and care.
