Huey is young and therefore has a lot of energy. He loves attention and to be kept busy. Huey is active, smart, and loves kids and other dogs. He sees every new face as a potential playmate. He would do best in a home with another play mate or an active family. At the facility he has staff and volunteers that have spent extra time with him in training, teaching commands and helping him take out all his pent-up energy. Huey is always ready for a walk, run, hike or a training session. Extremely treat motivated and very focused of what`s being asked of him to do. Huey still needs more training, but he is an amazing dog. He loves to please his person and would love to have a job. His perfect home would be one with one or two people that are very active and super involved in his training or a family that has the time to take him on walks and keep his mind and body active. He won`t do well in a house that wants a couch potato dog or calm dog. He needs stimulation to be calm afterwards. He was born in Jan 2020 and is located at the rescue. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. Meet chilli. She responds to her name and was named after the mom from the show bluey because she's very loyal and protective over those she's loves and also resembles the red heeler look just like in the show. She's a little over a year old, the vet said she was 10 months old based on her teeth when we brought her in for a check up in August of 2024. An ideal home for chilli would be one where she'd have a yard to run around or an owner who understands her active needs. We're in an apartment and work full-time so we're not able to provide proper care and space she needs to be happy. Shes very protective over those she loves as I stated before which means she may take a little bit of time to get used to new people but after she gets over that initial shyness she's a huge goofball who loves nothing more than to play and cuddle and run around. She gets along well with other dogs as long as they are introduced in a space that's not her territory and she's ready to be your loyal companion
