Zara is a wonderul dog with the perfect amount of energy! she does great on walks and loves to play fetch outside, but also enjoys laying in her bed and getting lots of belly rubs! Zara has done great around other dogs and exrtemely well in her foster home! She is potty trained and only barks when a stranger approcaes the home. She is always excited to see her foster parents and recive scratches. She can be shy at first but when she warms up she is incredibly loyal and loves you with everything she has!

Dahlia is a loving, loyal, and very goofy girl. She is always down to play with her favorite toys, a racquet ball or tennis ball, squeaky stuffed animals or a cardboard box, she just loves to play with you. She also loves to run so a yard is a must. At night after a long walk, she loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep until it’s time for bed. Dahlia was adopted July 2022 and was a little over a year old, so i think her birthday is about June 2021. She is anxious around other dogs so would need to be the only one in the house, but I think with time and training, it’s fixable. She was attacked so she is skeptical of unfamiliar dogs. She has never been around a cat so i’m not sure how she would react around them. As for children, smaller children make her nervous since they’re so close to her face and she can get a little over excited and jumpy so it’s best to have older kids in a house. Dahlia now knows sit, down, stay(sometimes), still learning “come” but she loves learning. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Kody came to me through my stepson who was unable to care for him long term. We’ve had Kody now for four years and have realized that our home is not what he needs as an Australian shepherd. He needs more time, space and stimulation than what we can give him. Because he has no “job” he’s taken to herding and protecting me as his “flock” and that’s beginning to cause issues with our other dogs in terms of resource guarding (mostly me!). Kody is timid when it comes to unknown noises and things he’s unsure of and is scared of thunder/fireworks. While he has overcome much timidity since being with us, he will require someone with patience and compassion while he adjusts to new surroundings. Kody walks well on leash, but becomes car sick easily. He is eager to please and knows basic tricks such as sit, lie down and paw. He has not been around young children or cats, so I cannot comment on his behavior in these circumstances.
