Story
A great companion! Hi, friends! My name is Alonso, and I’ve come all the way from Tijuana to find my furever home!   I’m a 7 year old old Border Collie mix male, who weighs 45 pounds.  I’m potty-trained, house-trained, and leash-trained, and I’ve already been neutered, too.  As far as my health goes, I’m on Royal Canin Vet Diet Adult Gastrointentinal Low Fat Dry dog to help manage my kidney issues.  I also have limited vision in my right eye and am blind in my left eye, so I am currently on Prednisone acetate, which costs ~$20 a bottle, depending on the market value and where it is purchased and Optixcare Plus lubricant,  (~$15 a tube, depending on the market value and where it is purchased). I also take Telmisartan to manage my high blood pressure (~$15.00 for 3 month supply, depending on market value and where purchased).   I’m the sweetest boy! I love my humans and to be spoiled by them.  My favorite activities include cuddling on the couch, sun-bathing in the yard, napping during the day, getting belly rubs, and going for car rides and walks in the neighborhood.  I’m generally a pretty mellow type of guy, but I do get zoomies in the backyard, and I like to play fetch, too.  Although I love having company, I also do fine on my own with very little signs of separation anxiety. I’d prefer to be the only animal in the home since I don’t do well around other doggies or kitties.  Older kids (eight and older), though, would be a great fit for me. Basically, as long as I have plenty of time around my people, I will thrive be my best self! "The Animal Pad recognizes that taking in a new dog can pose a challenge to the entire family. Alonso’s adoption package includes a FREE four-week scholarship with our partner Goodpup (https://goodpup.com/). Goodpup offers virtual, individualized training to ensure you, your dog, and your family have the skills needed to thrive together. GoodPup Scholarships include: 4+ weeks of positive reinforcement training 24/7 chat for questions and support Access to a behavior team to assist in advanced cases" Do I sound like two paws up to you? If so, my adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.   ##1495460##

Location: Turlock, CA ~~~FOSTER (or Adopter) HOME NEEDED~~~ Introducing Leon, he is nearly 3 years old, playful, friendly, great with other dogs and cats. He is your typical Border Collie, he loves to play, chase, run, and has a thing for stealing towels and sheets. (oops, no Leon, no) Leon is very eager to learn new things, is smart and love to sniff the world around him. Given his great personality, we think he would be ok with children over 13. He can be a bit too exuberant for the little ones. This boy would be an ideal candidate for fly ball, agility or lure coursing or hiking. Border Collies were bred to be working dogs, Leon is not meant to be a couch potato. He will need a home that will match his intelligence and activity level. No apartments or adopters who will leave him home alone for long periods of time please. Do you think this super boy is a good fit for your family? Story
Tommy is a cute and cuddly little boy with an eternally cute face. He was found on the streets with a tumor about 5.5" in diameter in his belly. He lasted a year in treatment with chemotherapy and medication and needed surgery to remove the remaining encapsulated mass. In addition to needing special food to break up a stone bladder, he has ultrasounds to make sure he don't get sediment in his bladder every three months. He is currently a healthy, happy, loving and tender dog. He is very loyal and protective, intelligent and playful. He don't get along well with alpha male dogs, but plays well with puppies and females. He is sociable with children and adults. Tommy is a Border collie mix, and is smaller than a Border collie. When you talk to him he makes a cute and cuddly face, ducks his head and rolls his eyes upwards, I think he knows he is cute and takes advantage of that. Tommy is a dog to spoil, to cuddle and to give him lots of love, since his first family didn't give him all he deserved. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Meet Nico! This big, strong boy is the sweetest and gentlest dog you will ever meet. High energy and eager to play, he gets along well with dogs and loves to jump and run with them. He loves food and walks (Well, he loves to take you for a run, haha!) And when he sees you, he gets excited and dances with his front paws. His chubby and hairy appearance makes him so cute, with all the personality of a golden retriever/Labrador, loyal but too clumsy and curious, extroverted and with an insatiable desire to smell everything. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Story
Give him work and he will rock! Hi there! I'm a 2-year-old, 20-pound neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix. I have been in a home since I was a pupper, but unfortunately I need a new home with someone who understands my breed and need for physical and mental enrichment. I mean, a cattle dog is smart and you gotta use that, right?! I really thrive on routine and structure, so breed specific games like flirt poles, herding balls, maybe sports would be so dang fun with me! I am house and crate trained. I have some anxiety, and that sometimes leads to frustration and mouthiness, so patience and slow introductions are key for me, especially with new dogs and strangers. I can be a bit reactive on leash, both to people and dogs, so I need a calm and controlled environment to help me feel safe. I pawmise that I am definitely cuter than my pics, you just have to see me! Loyalty and loving are my greatest traits. I am smart, and intelligent and do love my daily runs (3-6 miles). I still have tons of energy and endurance to burn! I need a lot of mental stimulation and physical exercise—like playing with flirt poles, herding balls, or just running in the backyard. I’m a working breed, so I love having a job to do. I’ve got a lot of energy and a ton of love to give, but I need some help learning how to settle in at home. I get along fine with cats, but I do tend to chase them if they run, and I prefer to be around children 12 and up since I can be a little too much for little ones. Young respectful adults are ideal. I need to be crated when visitors come over, as I feed off of their excited energy, which can make me feel more anxious and reactive. I also need structure when I’m around other dogs, especially when there are toys, bones, or chews involved, because I can be protective of my resources. Once I get to know you, I’m very loving and loyal. I might be a great match for someone who is active and enjoys running—I'll be right there by your side! But I need a home that understands my breed’s needs and can give me the mental and physical stimulation I require. If you're familiar with working breeds and can offer me the right environment, I bet I could be a wonderful companion! We can be a great team together! My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/   ##1728538##

Story
How this pet arrived: Sammie was brought in by a community member. Why Sammie might be the one for you: Meet Sammie, a sweet and friendly pup who is a joy to be around. Sammie may start off shy, but with a little patience and some tasty treats, she becomes a social butterfly. Her foster reports that she is house trained and super smart - she has already learned "sit," "down," "shake" and "go to bed." She is quiet most of the day with silly bursts of energy, usually around mealtimes. Sammie is a resilient gal who underwent surgery on her leg after being hit by a car, and has recovered well. She is a bit fearful of cars now so she prefers to walk on quiet streets, but with lots of positive reinforcement, she is rebuilding her confidence. Sammie has an adventurous spirit, so adopters should have a secure fence or keep her on a leash while outside. She is also looking for a home where she can be the only dog and soak up all your attention. If you're ready to offer this sweet girl the loving home she deserves, inquire about Sammie today! At SDHS:Sammie has been vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered and is now ready for her new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 45.5 Age: 2yrs 8mths 2wks
