Story
Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 1 year old, 35lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can b hi e strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 12. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog. He will need an adopter that will keep him lol physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Sweet Poppy came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of her owner. Her family needed to downsize to an apartment and it was not a suitable environment for her. Poppy is very active and needs to be in a freestanding home with a yard outside of the city. She is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd. Her previous owner describes her as the sweetest angel who will give you all of her love and loves to cuddle. She is fully house trained and won’t potty inside if she is on a routine schedule. She is an active girl who loves to go on walks, running and hiking. She will need an adopter who is active and will keep up on her exercise. She loves to play with squeaky toys. She is also playful and loves other dogs and would do well with another dog friend in the home or could do well by herself as long as she continues to be socialized with other dogs. She is a beautiful girl and will need to be routinely brushed out. She was shaved in the past but should not be shaved again, just regular grooming for this girl. She has a high prey drive so no small animals in the home with her. She has a cat in the home before but cannot be left unattended with them, so we are recommending no cats for her. She can be a flight risk and a runner so she will need to be leashed when outside and not left unattended in the yard. Poppy is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $550.

Story
Oreo is an amazing dog who loves people and is good at playing with kids. She loves being outside. She has anxiety issues and needs a lot of attention. But she loves to cuddle and loves to nudge for attention. We adopted her in Japan in hopes for us to be her forever home but unfortunately that is no longer possible. I want to find her a good home with children to play with and get lots of love.

Story
Animal Profile: Milo is an estimated 4 year old neutered male Aussie who was surrendered to Maui Humane when his owners could no longer care for him. He does great in foster care and is friendly to all -- dogs, cats and kids -- but very stressed in the shelter setting. He needs a diet as he is overweight, but he loves walks and playing in the water. He will be arriving to Seattle foster care on 4/24 and we will share more as we get to know him.  Foster Updates: Stay tuned for details. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog entered Maui Humane as a stray on 11/21/22 and was transferred to Dog Gone Seattle foster care on 4/24/2023. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.      May 30, 2023, 1:14 am

Animal Profile: Brook is a 12-week-old 10 lb male Aussie puppy (DOB 2/27/23) who along with his littermates were taken in to Gulf Coast Humane in TX. All but Brook, Baylor and Bennet were adopted but these three will be joining us in Seattle to find forever homes. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Brook is a great puppy, he is so playful, friendly and snuggly. He is very smart and a typical puppy busybody. He is learning very quickly and loves playing with our resident dog and is curious about our cat. He is around 10lbs currently and doing well on potty training and crate training! We take him out once overnight and have had minimal potty accidents so far. Brook would do well with another dog or as a solo puppy. He loves our yard and would do best in a home with a fenced yard and needs an active lifestyle given his breed.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Bennett is a sweet, bouncy puppy and will make a great family dog. He is very people-oriented and loves a good cuddle. Bennett is ball obsessed and will play fetch for as long as you’ll let him. He does great with our resident dog and will likely do fine with cats as well. Like most puppies his age, he will need a family willing to continue working with him on his potty training, crate training,  and recall.  - Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All but Brook, Baylor and Bennet were adopted but these three will be joining us in Seattle to find forever homes. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update:  It is not a contradiction to say that Baylor is both super chill but also can be high energy. He hasn’t met a person yet that he hasn’t charmed and been happy to be cuddled by.  He is great around little ones and other dogs. Baylor loves playing with every dog he has come across though some dogs apparently aren’t that into high energy puppy play. He is at his best when he is in a small yard running around with kiddos or other dogs. We are trying not to be offended when he keeps trying to sneak into our neighbors’ yards where he got to run around with their little ones once or twice. He is adventurous, curious and resourceful and loves to burrow into a comfy place and make it his own. The leash is not yet his friend and he would prefer to get his energy out in a yard than walking around the block though he does go a bit further every day.  He is fine in the crate and has made it through the past few nights without being in the same bedroom as me. He will make a great addition to your happy home (ideally with a small yard) and will thaw the Seattle freeze so that all of your neighbors stop and chat and ask if they can say hello. (Answer is of course. Baylor won’t disappoint.).  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Story
This could very well be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but this great pup needs a better home. Anya is a sweet girl, and she deserves a home where she can really shine. Anya is almost three and still an energetic and very lovable cattle dog mix and would be a lap dog if she could. Anya will always be by your side and would make a very good sidekick. She runs like the wind and jumps like a deer, and I laugh every time I see her dart through the yard. She will need a space where she can stretch her little legs, and smell everything there is to smell. She loves her toys, blankets, balls, and sticks and will play fetch with anything you throw. Why are we in this place? My older female dog and Anya do not get along and it’s just getting worse. We have worked with trainers and I have accepted that I cannot provide the level of activity that she needs, and it is clear that finding Anya a new home is the only answer left. I need to know that she will be safe, happy and loved.

Story
HERDING BREED EXPERIENCE NEEDED: Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries. Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her. Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people. She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.
