Story
About Me: Name: Loki Breed (or best guess): Australian Shepherd (or mix) Approximate Age: 3 yr (possibly older) Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 40 lb (overweight) Adoption Fee: $450 Requirements: Loki is dog selective Why In Rescue: Breeder surrender Profile:  Loki came to us from a breeder who was no longer going to use him for breeding.  We were told he was a Mini Aussie, but that isn't what his size is!  He is a bigger guy but a nice boy.  He is picky about what dogs he likes, and some dogs don't like him.  It can be hard for dogs at the shelter to get along with each other, so he may be more social once he is in a home but if there is already a dog in the home, they should meet before adoption.  He has learned how to go for walks and is pretty good at keeping his kennel clean.  He likely has never lived in a home, so will need to have a patient owner as he figures that out.  He isn't high energy, so doesn't need a super active family, but he could use some walks to help him lose some weight.  If interested in Loki, please fill out the pre-adoption application. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS June 7, 2023, 7:46 pm

About Me: Name: Ralphie Breed (or best guess): Australian Shepherd (smaller)/Cattle Dog mix Approximate Age: 10 weeks on 3/30 Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 6 lb on 3/30 Adoption Fee: $550 Requirements: proper home for an active working type breed Why In Rescue: Owner/Breeder Surrender Profile:  Ralphie is the last of the litter to be chosen, and we aren't sure why.  He is a great little guy, he even makes weekly visits to a senior center! These littermates came into rescue when their owner/breeder surrendered them to us.  They are very playful and spunky puppies, always up for a game of chase or wrestling with their siblings.  They are babies, and will need to learn everything that puppies need to be taught - walking on a leash, housetraining, and what is a toy and what isn't a toy.  We are expecting them to be Medium size dogs when full grown but Ralphie seems to be smaller than the others, so he may stay small, but that is just our best guess.  If you have another dog in the family, it needs to be one that is tolerant of puppy ruff n tumble type play.  Most senior dogs do not appreciate a puppy playing with them! If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com. Bogart is an 18 week old, Australian Shepherd mix. Bogart is a handsome boy that was brought into a shelter as an abandoned puppy. He is an active guy and very smart. It appeared to us almost immediately that he was deaf, although working with him, we have come to realize that he does hear some higher pitched verbal commands when there isn't a lot of background noise. He loves going for walks and is making great strides with his sit command using hand signals. He still has that puppy energy and with the right owner to teach him as he grows, he will be an outstanding dog. He is great with other dogs and with kids. A fenced in yard would be ideal with his hearing loss. Bogart is a sweet and social puppy. He currently weighs 25 pounds. As always, we never guarantee the breed OR the size they'll be as an adult. Story
Meet Bailey! *Bailey's adoption fee has been sponsored by Forever Home Real Estate. Hi, I'm Bailey. I'm a bit nervous about meeting new people, but I warm up very quickly, like in less than an hour! The best thing is, after I get to know you, I promise to love you unconditionally. I’m around 9 years old, which is still middle-aged for a cattle dog, my foster mom says! I’m also pretty compact at under 30 pounds – a great size if you need to pick me up for some reason. My foster mom says it is best to get the description of my challenges out of the way first, so here we go! I’ve had a bit of a rough go of it, through no fault of my own. I had a medical event best described as a seizure when I was still down south. The vet here thinks that is what gives me tremors when I get excited. My back end is a bit less coordinated than it once was due to what happened. I need to go out to pee every 3 or so hours but am a pro at pee pads if you are gone for longer. None of this has slowed me down, though. I also have a tooth the vet says may need to be pulled at some point, but that it is fine for now. Last thing, I like to tell stories, as in I can be a bit barky. The foster humans are helping me channel my excitement that compels me to bark and will happily share what they are doing to help me on that front! But this means no apartments for me single family homes only. Now that that is out of the way on to the great stuff about me! I have the most adorable under-bite you can imagine! I also make the cutest noises when I am getting pets and belly rubs. I'm house trained and put myself to bed at night when I get tired and stay there until morning. I've tested all the soft places and dog beds at my foster home, and I prefer sleeping with the humans. But I am fine with a nice dog bed or the crate. I get along famously with other dogs, no matter the size, cats are great too! I currently live with two other dogs and am really hoping to get adopted to a home with a fur sibling to keep me company. Living with little kids wouldn't be great for me, as they make me nervous, but respectful teenagers who can give me endless love and don't have lots of friends coming in and out? Yes, please! I love to go for walks and go to my leash to let you know when I want to go. I also go to the back door and lie down to let you know I need to go out. I am great at fetch and love a good trip to the dog park, too! I'm a very smart girl and can shake hands with both paws. I love belly rubs and will bury my head in your arms to show you how much I love you. I enjoy going for car rides, and I would be a great travel companion. I'd love it if my forever family found me soon, so I can start settling into my new home! Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is sponsored. Learn more about Albert's Dog Lounge, our mission, and adoption policies by visiting Albertsdoglounge.org. Begin your application process by copying this link into your web browser: https://www.albertsdoglounge.org/apply WI Dept. Of Agriculture License Number: 474085-DS Disclaimer: It is VERY difficult even for a veterinarian to tell the exact age of a dog over two years old. From one vet to another, we can get different age estimates on the same dog and they can vary by several years. We are only making an educated guess based on a few factors like teeth, fur color, and overall body condition, but for dogs who have not been given adequate vet care and food, it can be even more difficult. Every dog is an individual, and we do our very best to age appropriately but make no guarantees as to the age of any dog in our program.

Finn is a sweet loving boy, who loves to tennis balls and to be loved. He's my best friend but due to circumstances, I can no longer keep him. He loves to swim, play with toys (even though he likes to rip them up right away ;) ), play catch, he'll be your best friend and protector. He can be aggressive, so he needs someone who can be really patient and loving and work with him. He also has anxiety, but hey, who doesn't, right? He loves to talk, especially in the mornings, he'll let you know when he's hungry by pawing his bowl around and will even do it just because ;) He deserves the world.

Story
Aspen just turned six years old. Since she was a rescue, we choose to celebrate her birthday on May 7th. Aspen hopes that someone will train her to more professionally hunt or herd. She follows her nose, likes to dig, go for walks, and be outside! Napping in the shade or in cool A/C is a big part of her day. She is up-to-date with everything vet-related. She receives PROIN daily for urinary issues (humane society spayed her too early in her life), and some joint supplements. On the first of each month she receives Nexgard (fleas/ticks), Heartgard, after her bath. We have a bed and blankets, travel kennel, main kennel, food/water bowls, harness, leash, and many more of her items that would be included with her adoption.
