Story
Bentley is fostered in Pleasonton, KS. Meet Bentley.  Bentley was surrendered to us when his owner had some medical issues and was unable to continue caring for him.  Bentley came in a little under-socialized and slightly overweight. Bentley is 3 year old male Australian Shepherd mix who is working towards his ideal weight of approximately 50 lbs.   Bentley needs a hero.  Bentley previously spent great deal of time in his crate.  For this reason, he did not receive proper socialization. Socialization is something his foster home has diligently been working on with him.  She has been de-sensitizing him to many things, including leash walking, grooming, other dogs and other people.  Bentley previously experienced some fears in some area, but he really has put in a lot of work and he is making wonderful progress in all areas.   Bentley is a low-key guy who is looking for an adopter who enjoys the same type of lifestyle. He prefers a home where there are less comings and goings.  We also recommend a physically fenced yard and a home that is both patient and has no children under age 12.  Bentley is a talker. The more you talk to him, the more he expresses his feelings.  Bentley is what we term a "work in progress", but he is the type of dog that will quickly become your best friend once trust is gained between you.  Are you looking for your new best friend? Bentley is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2407689##

Story
Kenna and Cooper Bear are being fostered in St Peters MO (Bonded Pair) Kenna and Cooper Bear are a bonded pair and have been together since they were puppies. They are NOT littermates. We believe the best placement for them would be a home where they could be adopted together. They are great with other dogs, cats and kids!  The trifecta of a GOOD dog! :)  Please meet Kenna. She is a 6-year-old red merle female Australian Shepherd. She currently weighs about 74 lbs. She is a big girl who loves to go for walks and play fetch (but only with tennis balls) loves to be close to her person; a constant companion following you from room to room.  She will run between your knees and walk with you wherever you go.  Prior to rescue Kenna lived in a loving home with her companion dog Cooper.  They were surrendered to rescue due to the family not having enough time to properly care for two large dogs and a growing family. Kenna knows sit, stay, down, shake. She is always ready for a walk (will sit at door waiting for you to open) or a car ride, she rides like a dream. She loves to be petted and brushed.   She is being fostered with two other female dogs and does well with them.  She is also being fostered with her brother Cooper, a 6 year old black tri male. Kenna is house trained and crate trained.  She has done very well when left uncrated.  In her foster home, she does have access to a dog door and a fenced yard.  Kenna lived with a toddler and was a gentle giant with her. Kenna has done well with visitors in the house. Kenna is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations. She is also receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. If you have what Kenna needs, please visit our website to find out information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Story
Olive is fostered in Beloit, WI. Olive (Ollie for short) is a 5 year old Mini Aussie/Brittany Spaniel mix with springs on her paws, a puppy's energy, and a quick mind. Ollie has such cute and loving ways with the cutest little sploot in the world!   Ollie would love nothing more than to spend her days loving and playing with her humans. She's a great fetcher inside or outside, and will bring her toy to you on demand. Ollie is a work in process. Her previous life did not teach her boundaries or how to be gentle in her play.  Ollie is currently learning impulse control and will need an adopter to this training, where she has clear and consistent boundaries. She will press you, and then be embarrassed when she brakes the rules, but consistency and patience will win out and give you a wonderful addition to your family.  Ollie is a SWEET girl and VERY eager to please. Ollie is crate trained, house trained and great in a car.  Ollie would do best with a fully enclosed yard and another playful companion to keep her company, to rough house with, and a ball to chase and fetch for you. Ollie would do best in a home with children over 10 years of age.  She was raised with a cat and does not show any wish to chase them or bother them at all. Squirrels, on the other hand, are a different subject altogether! Ollie is a GREAT little girl looking for an adopter who wants to be active with her, teach her new things, and then cuddle on the couch after a rigorous game of fetch.  Are you looking for a sweet girl like her? Olive is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.  We do require proof of purchase of heartworm prevention for any current or prior pets. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2510764##

Story
Willy is fostered in Marion, WI. Willy is part of a hoarding situation where we took several mini/toy aussies.  Willy was the most shy and timid of the group.  Willy is a mini/toy Australian Shepherd estimated to be 1.5 years of age and approximately 15-18 pounds.   Willy will need a special adopter who is willing to continue socializing him at his pace.  He has made great strides already since arriving in rescue.  Willy will need another confident and socail dog in the home.  Willy gets along remarkably well with other dogs.  He is even great with cats.   Willy is crate trained and does see his crate as a safe place.  He is also house trained.  Willy will need a physically fenced yard.  He does prefer a female caregiver but his foster home  is working on slowly introducing him to men.  We recommend a quieter home where there is not a lot of traffic or young kids.  Other than being cute as can be, he also gives hugs!  Willy is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website. Story
Sammi is fostered in Ottumwa, IA. Sammi is a sweet, special girl.  She was brought into rescue when her former owner suffered a medical condition that required him to move in with family and receive 24 hour care himself.  Sammi had been in that home since she was a puppy.  Sammi is a blue merle female Australian Shepherd.  She is an 8 year girl, currently weighing around 50 lbs.   Sammi is a super sweet gal.  Sammi loves everyone and everything. She previously lived in a home with another dog.  She now lives in a foster home with multiple other dogs and a cat.  She is a little hesitant with the cat, but we think it's becaue she wasn't exposed to them.  Sammi is a bit overweight and could use some continued monitoring of her food and continued exercise.  She doesn't necessarily play with a lot of dogs, but she is very comfortable watching them playing around her.  She goes to doggie daycare at her foster home.   Sammi has EXCELLENT house manners.  She is crate trained and potty trained.  She does wonderful for grooming and she is great at running errands in the car with you too.  Sammi does know a few basic commands, but it never hurts to brush up on those with a training course.  Training is a great way to help bond with your pup. Sammi is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. We require proof of heartworm prevention for all current and previous pets. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2588313##

Story
Bruce is being fostered in Pewaukee WI Meet Bruce!  Are you looking for a walking buddy????? Bruce is your guy!  This GORGEOUS hunk is a love bug to the T!  Bruce is a 68lb blue merle standard male Australian Shepherd. His date of birth is 12/1/2017. At just 8 years old, this fluffer butt would love to have a home as the only dog. While he gets along with other dogs, he doesn't like to share his things with other dogs. This boy is a little fluffier than he should be and could lose about 10lbs. to be at his ideal weight.   He LOVES humans of all ages, sizes and colors. Bruce is house trained, crate trained and a total velcro boy!  He is lower on the energy scale and would love a human sidekick!  He loves leaurely walks in the woods, the neighborhood, doesn't matter where, he loves a good stroll to sniff and stop smell the roses :P He is great on leash and good in the car too!  While he doesn't currently have a fenced yard, if he was living in a busy neighborhood, we would recommend one because he loves to chase the squirells and birds. We recommend NO cats in his forever home. He would LOVE to be the center of attention! Because of his size, we also recommend kids over 8 for this boy.  Bruce is up to date on all vaccinations, negative for heartworm, neutered, microchipped and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.
