Story
Kenna and Cooper Bear are being fostered in St Peters MO (Bonded Pair) Kenna and Cooper Bear are a bonded pair and have been together since they were puppies. They are NOT littermates. We believe the best placement for them would be a home where they could be adopted together. They are great with other dogs, cats and kids!  The trifecta of a GOOD dog! :)  Please meet Kenna. She is a 6-year-old red merle female Australian Shepherd. She currently weighs about 74 lbs. She is a big girl who loves to go for walks and play fetch (but only with tennis balls) loves to be close to her person; a constant companion following you from room to room.  She will run between your knees and walk with you wherever you go.  Prior to rescue Kenna lived in a loving home with her companion dog Cooper.  They were surrendered to rescue due to the family not having enough time to properly care for two large dogs and a growing family. Kenna knows sit, stay, down, shake. She is always ready for a walk (will sit at door waiting for you to open) or a car ride, she rides like a dream. She loves to be petted and brushed.   She is being fostered with two other female dogs and does well with them.  She is also being fostered with her brother Cooper, a 6 year old black tri male. Kenna is house trained and crate trained.  She has done very well when left uncrated.  In her foster home, she does have access to a dog door and a fenced yard.  Kenna lived with a toddler and was a gentle giant with her. Kenna has done well with visitors in the house. Kenna is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations. She is also receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. If you have what Kenna needs, please visit our website to find out information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. Story
Gracie is fostered in Cincinnati, OH. This beautiful little gal’s name is Gracie, and she is offering all the love you are willing to give!  She has beautiful coloring and an amazing Aussie tail (which you don’t see often). Gracie currently weights about 55-59 lbs, and is estimated to be about 4 years of age.  Gracie wants to be next to you, laying her head on your lap, walking right beside you, or snuggling up next to you! She LOVES her humans. Gracie will follow you everywhere, as a typical aussie will.  She will contently lay down to take naps in whatever room you are in. She is a typical Aussie and has been known to herd the resident dogs or her humans.  There is not much known about her background but being in foster care for several weeks, she has shown her foster mom exactly the kind of family that this sweet girl deserves. Ideally, that home would be composed of another four-legged friendly pup and humans tagging along for the ride! Gracie is extremely sweet and friendly, but it is important to know that she is still working on her manners as she stands up to greet you with her front paws when you come inthe door, so a patient and understanding family is required. She does well with her foster siblings, although, she does think she is the “parent” at times, correcting her foster siblings. Gracie LOVES toys and has taken a liking to her resident brother’s automatic ball thrower. She has also been playing with all the soft squeaky toys and plays tug-of-war with her foster brother. Gracie likes to take all the stuffing out of her toys to that plastic squeaky part. Gracie will gladly decorate your home with all the fluff when allowed. Gracie has been known to herd her foster siblings by running to them and nipping them. Gracie has no issues with happily sharing her toys.  Gracie is a true love bug who will spend her days looking at you lovingly, asking for pets and belly rubs. She repeatedly pushes into your arm asking for pets. Gracie does great in the crate and also being gated off for the day.  Gracie seems to warm up to strangers easily. She is not bothered by loud noises, storms, or other household activities. Gracie is very smart but is still learning so much about the world around her.  She knows several commands such as sit and come!   Whether it’s a day of running errands or a night in chewing on her stuffies near her person, Gracie is content as can be. Her future home would ideally give her the best of both worlds. She loves accompanying her foster family all over the house and sneaking in a hug or head scratch in every room. Gracie has shown that she can be trusted to be left out or gated off in a room when needed without issue.  Gracie does need a family committed to spending at least an hour a day for a nice energy release, whether that is playing with another pup, doggie daycare or running/jogging.  Needs  A home with a secure, fenced in area A dedicated owner to continue her training A house that will be able to handle a young, energetic aussie who is eager to please A friendly pup sibling(s) that will share all the toys and love a family has to offer Wants Someone who will snuggle and give all the pets possible Toys, lots and lots of toys Gracie is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.   NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2498510##

Story
Fluffy is fostered in Waukesha, WI. This gorgeous girl is a masterpiece of beauty.  She is a 5 year former breeder, that is now learning how to live indoors and be pampered.  She is a blue merle mini aussie, who weighs approximatley 30 lbs.   As a former breeder, she needs slower introductions and a home that will continue to show her about being a pampered pooch.  She is in a foster home with many other dogs of all ages and sizes.  She gets along marvelously with other dogs and cats too.  She can be a little shy with humans, so high value treats go a long way with her.  Fluffy would do best in a slower-paced home that has another outgoing, social dog.  She is incredibly sweet, but she is still learning. Fluffy would do best with a home that is committed to her socialization and building her confidence.  Since arriving in rescue, she has already opened up a lot, but we would love to see her shine even more in the right environment.  She ok on leash, but could use a little additional training in this area. She e will require a physically fenced yard and a home with no children under 12 years of age.  She has done remarkable for grooming and is learning that car rides can result in a fun little treat... a pup cup.  She also would love to have someone that is home more frequently than not, but this is not a requirement. Fluffy is spayed, just had a dental cleaning, microchipped, vaccinated and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any prior or current pets is required to adopt from our rescue. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2525340##

Story
Bentley is fostered in Pleasonton, KS. Meet Bentley.  Bentley was surrendered to us when his owner had some medical issues and was unable to continue caring for him.  Bentley came in a little under-socialized and slightly overweight. Bentley is 3 year old male Australian Shepherd mix who is working towards his ideal weight of approximately 50 lbs.   Bentley needs a hero.  Bentley previously spent great deal of time in his crate.  For this reason, he did not receive proper socialization. Socialization is something his foster home has diligently been working on with him.  She has been de-sensitizing him to many things, including leash walking, grooming, other dogs and other people.  Bentley previously experienced some fears in some area, but he really has put in a lot of work and he is making wonderful progress in all areas.   Bentley is a low-key guy who is looking for an adopter who enjoys the same type of lifestyle. He prefers a home where there are less comings and goings.  We also recommend a physically fenced yard and a home that is both patient and has no children under age 12.  Bentley is a talker. The more you talk to him, the more he expresses his feelings.  Bentley is what we term a "work in progress", but he is the type of dog that will quickly become your best friend once trust is gained between you.  Are you looking for your new best friend? Bentley is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. Story
Olive is fostered in Beloit, WI. Olive (Ollie for short) is a 5 year old Mini Aussie/Brittany Spaniel mix with springs on her paws, a puppy's energy, and a quick mind. Ollie has such cute and loving ways with the cutest little sploot in the world!   Ollie would love nothing more than to spend her days loving and playing with her humans. She's a great fetcher inside or outside, and will bring her toy to you on demand. Ollie is a work in process. Her previous life did not teach her boundaries or how to be gentle in her play.  Ollie is currently learning impulse control and will need an adopter to this training, where she has clear and consistent boundaries. She will press you, and then be embarrassed when she brakes the rules, but consistency and patience will win out and give you a wonderful addition to your family.  Ollie is a SWEET girl and VERY eager to please. Ollie is crate trained, house trained and great in a car.  Ollie would do best with a fully enclosed yard and another playful companion to keep her company, to rough house with, and a ball to chase and fetch for you. Ollie would do best in a home with children over 10 years of age.  She was raised with a cat and does not show any wish to chase them or bother them at all. Squirrels, on the other hand, are a different subject altogether! Ollie is a GREAT little girl looking for an adopter who wants to be active with her, teach her new things, and then cuddle on the couch after a rigorous game of fetch.  Are you looking for a sweet girl like her? Olive is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.  We do require proof of purchase of heartworm prevention for any current or prior pets. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2510764##

Cooper Bear and Kenna are being fostered in St Peters MO Cooper Bear and Kenna came in together and have been together since they were puppies. They are a bonded pair and we would like for them to be adopted together. They are NOT littermates. Cooper knows sit, stay, down, shake. He is always ready for a walk (will sit at door waiting for you to open) or a car ride, he rides like a dream, will sit in back with feet on the console and his head on your shoulder. He loves to be petted but only tolerates being brushed.  He will run to you upon hearing load noises like thunder or fireworks.  He is being fostered with two other female dogs and does well with them.  He is also being fostered with his sister Kenna, a 6 year old red merle female. Cooper is house trained and crate trained.  When left uncrated, he has been known to counter surf and help himself to things he shouldn't but his foster home is working on this. In his foster home, he does have access to a dog door and a fenced yard. We do recommend a physically fenced yard for him (he will run if let loose).  Cooper lived with a toddler and was a gentle giant with her but would need a slow introduction to older kids who might rush at him.
