Story
Rocky is fostered in Waterford, MI Yo everybody, its me the champ, ROCKY.  Now that I am a retired from fighting for the ladies - as a breeder release - can you let me be a contender for your heart and see if we can go the distance?  I am a knock-out 2.5 yo blue merle male Australian Shepherd weighing in at approximately 40 lbs.  I have a magnificent mane of floof and heterochromatic eyes to mesmerize my opponents.  I'm currently continuing my training at Camp Haulin Auss in Waterford MI.  Generally, I'm a good boy when  inside...but I have been known to bob and weave to escape a ring (crate).  At times, I can be mischievous if left alone too long, only because I prefer to be with my fans (humans)!  My foster mom (aka trainer) says I'm way too smart for my own good sometimes, cause I'm a really quick study.  She puts me on the ropes though, for walks that is, and I am a gentleman - never pulling and always checking in to see her admiring me and my wiggle butt, cause my bob tail literally never stops going.   Because of my background, I may lack the social graces with other canine residents but after a few weeks at camp (foster home), I am doing GREAT with other dogs. I am particularely fond of practicing with the resident male here in foster camp.  He's a heavyweight brawler, much bigger than me, but I hold my own because I am the ROCKY the champ.  I don't play possum when I'm in the ring (or yard), because I would  prefer to chase them....  yo know, the squirrels, birds and bunnies.  My foster mom calls it a high prey drive, so no feline friends for me. Like any reputable fighter, sometimes I can act like a raging bull in a china shop when I get excited.  Though smaller in stature, I have great strength, so little people (under 10 years of age) are not recommended for me.  I do get pretty excited about my fans and cna win the crowd over by bonding with the big people in the house.  I am a charmer, ya know.     The match is nearly over and you are looking to be saved by the bell!  It's a unanimous decision for you to throw in the towel and make me, ROCKY, the champion of your heart by applying to adopt me today!  Together we can win a lifetime of championship matches and many years of amazing adventures together!   I  am now neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on my vaccinations and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  I am currently seeking my new Trainer and Life Coach (aka adopters).  Is that you??? ##1992564##

Story
GEMMA IS BEING FOSTERED IN BLOOMINGTON IL Meet our precious girl, Gemma, who has MASTERED her puppy dog stare!  Sweet Gemmy NEEDS a hero.  She is a gorgeous black tri female that was found in a stray.  She is approximately 2 years old an is playful with other dogs.  Gemma is a goofy girl, that has a high prey drive, so no kitties, bunnies or other small pets is required for her. However, what she does make up that with providing you with BOUNDLESS cuddles.  She wants nothing more than to spend her time being as close as she can be with her person.  Gemma weighs around 45 lbs, and she is a typical aussie who is active and playful. While she loves a good evening of chilling at home, she equally loves running around the house showing off all her stuffies and squeaky toys!  Gemma is a bit cautious around new people and places, but her foster home has done some nice training work with her in exposing her to new people and new things, providing her with some positive experiences.  She is responding very well to the training and would love to have an adoptive home of her own that would continue this training for her.  She has made TREMENDOUS progress in her foster home, meeting new people, hearing new sounds and experiencing all the world has to offer.  She would do best in a home that is on the quiet side and does not have a lot of visitors.   Gemma is potty trained and crate trained and even puts herself in her kennel at night. She does have excellent house manners and can be left out without any mischief.  Gemma loves toys and bones and shares nicely with her foster brotherr. Fetch and chase are two of her favorite games to play.  Gemma is still learning to enjoy car rides so more positive experiences (pup cups) would be highly recommended.   Gemma is spayed and up-to-date on all shots and preventatives A home without young kids or small animals (cats, bunnies, etc) A physically fenced yard to exercise freely A patient adopter(s) to continue the training and socialization her foster is providing Gemma's WANTS Another social (same sized) dog in the home A quieter home without much coming and going A spot on the couch next to her best friend for life! ##1823568##

Story
Honey is fostered in South Bend, IN. Please meet Honey, who is as sweet as her name.  Honey blue merle female Australian Shepherd with a tail.  Her date of birth is 3/25/2024. She has done very well with crate training and potty training.  She is a VERY smart girl and is easy to train.   Honey is great with the resident dogs in her foster home and is also learning to navigate the ways of the kitty.  Honey is a friendly little girl, but is still a puppy who can be a bit nippy when she gets excited.  For this reason, she would be best in an adoptive home who can continue working with her on basic obedience and her mouthiness (typical aussie).   Honey is up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, she is microchipped, and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm purchase for any current or previous pet is request to adopt from our rescue.   NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2130337##

Story
Leo is being fostered in the St Peters, MO area. This gorgeous guy is Leo!  Leo is a great boy and so easy on the eyes. Leo was found as a stray with another dog. The shelter actually determined he was dumped by his former owner when the former own had no luck rehoming both of the dogs.  Lucky for Leo, he doesn't hold any grudges and he is ready to find his forever home.   Leo is a 1 year old male black tri Australian Shepherd.  He is quite possibly mixed with German Shepherd.  Leo currently weighs approximately 60 lbs and has a luxurious tail.  This boy is such a puppy at heart and LOVES to play.  He is EXCEPTIONALLY sweet and would most likely be good with children, however, given his size and playfulness, we suggest a home with children over 10 years of age.   He is very food motivated and is respectful of all the other dogs in the home.  He will play fetch until your arm is sore, so he will need an active home, which is typical of aussies.  He is potty trained and has done great being left out of his crate while his foster parents are working.  We are not sure about cats.   He is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of purchase of heartworm preventatives for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our rescue. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2139616##

Story
Charlie Pride is fostered in Marion, WI. Please meet Charlie Pride AKA Charlie or Chuck Chuck.  Charlie, or as we sometimes call him, Chuck Chuck, is a beautiful old soul. He is a 4 year old blue merle male Australian Shepherd with one eye that is half blue. He also has a gorgeous tail.  He weighs approximately 35 pounds and is super sweet, gentle and less energetic than your typical aussie.  Charlie Pride came to us from an Amish farm, and previously lived outside.  However, he has QUICKLY adjusted to living indoors.  He is learning basic commands and is very food motivated. He has started to learn how to play with toys but they are not of much interest to him. He is 100% house trained and has free roam of the house. He enjoys taking leisurely walks in tall grass, laying on the porch watching the world go by and napping on the couch. Charlie is currently living with 2 resident females and does well with them He also does well with male dogs. He also has done wonderful with the other animals: horses, chickens and cats. He would be fine with cats.  We were informed that he had killed chickens in the past but in his current foster, he has no interest in them.   Charlie Pride loves to cuddle on the couch with his person and is very well mannered. He would make a fantastic addition to just about any family but I think a lower key home would be best for him.  Charlie is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or prior pets is required to adopt from our rescue. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2101886##
