He loves to play with his foster siblings’ sizes tiny to huge! He loves toys but can get a little possessive of them. Very food motivated so he loves treats (maybe more than his food) and when it’s time to eat. Working on manners like jumping, barking at times, and house breaking. Very smart and trainable dog! Meet Ziggy! Ziggy was originally with Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue last year when he was a 2 month old pup and adopted in December of 23. He is a mix of Australian Shepherd and Golden Retriever! He was returned to the rescue last week Thursday. The original adopter says that he jumped up on her oldest child and nipped his ear which caused an injury. Ever since, her kids have struggled to bond with him. What I see in Ziggy now that he's back in Rescue with me: Ziggy is gentle and SO SO SO well behaved! He knows all basic commands- sit, stay/wait, down, shake. He doesn't always like to come inside when called. He also needs work with leash pulling, but a good harness would probably do the trick. He is housebroken and has freedom to go wherever he wants in the house. Does lay on furniture and also likes to sleep in my bed. I have not seen any destruction or chewing of any kind. Original adopter says good with cats but has not been socialized with other dogs since he was with his previous adopted family. Ziggy is doing pretty good with his foster siblings. Working on boundaries if there are treats outside and he doesn't have one. Ziggy is also wonderful with my 7 year old. Previous adopted family says good with kids. I would agree. I don't have any concerns with Ziggy and kiddos. Thinking the incident mentioned may have been a puppy just being a pup. Ziggy's DOB is 10/7/23 He is neutered and appears to be up to date on vaccines. Will need to confirm. This is the perfect trained young pup!! Say hello to Duke!! He is an approx 3 year old Australian Shepherd that is the sweetest love bug ever! He loves dogs, cats, people, everything! His downfall is he will clear any fence and will come when he wants to. He is trained on invisible fence, however, and is very good with that! He will not escape a fence if you are in the yard with him but he just wants to be with his people so he will escape if left alone. Duke loves to play with other dogs and will do best in a home with a fun furry playmate. He would love an active family that will take him on adventures and let him snuggle with them at the end of the day. He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area. She could be pre-adopted also by an out of town family but cannot go to her new home until after her spay appointment later in December. She is a super playful little girl who is doing very well her her crate and potty training. She loves toys and attention. She is so young she will adjust to any kind of house (kids, cats, etc) if trained and introduced properly. She will probably be around 45 lbs full grown but we really don't know. Mom was supposedly an aussie and dad supposedly a husky/shepherd mix ... but again we do not know. Her entire litter was abandoned at 1 week old and they were all bottlefed by our amazing foster homes. All are well adjusted and super precious puppies. Apply for Minkie on our website!
