History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A Note from the Foster: Hi! My name is Marsha but my foster family usually just calls me “pretty pittie” because have you seen my gorgeous stripes and sweet heart nose? 🥰 I am young, athletic, smart, energetic, and loving. A human with a lot of those same qualities would be my perfect match! I am already crate trained, housetrained, and know some commands - I learn really fast because I love food and am super smart. I also love people! So much that sometimes I don’t understand why I can’t say hello to everyone I see and jump on them because I get SO excited! 😆 I live with two teenage boys and love them a lot. I am strong though and since I am still learning how to contain all that love, I might be too much for little kids that are smaller than me. I also live with 2 other dogs - both girls like me! It took a while for me to trust them but we hang out with each other now. I still don’t want to play with them though. I’d probably get along best with a boy dog who just wants to chill. Or I would be fine being your one and only pet! Here are things I like to do: 🏃‍♀️ I am an honorary member of my mom’s run club! I’d love to be your running buddy. Hike - I am always up for an adventure! Walk - I like to go for walks every day to check out the neighborhood 🧩- I like doing puzzles to keep my 🧠 busy Learn! I really like to learn new tricks and commands - I would be the valedictorian of any class! Curling up in front of the fire and taking naps Here are things I need to work on: Loose leash walking Staying calm in exciting situations - like passing by people or 🐕 on a walk or seeing a 🐿️ !! My perfect pet parent would be: Active and willing to exercise me every day Dedicated to training me and helping me learn how to contain all my excitement and strength in a constructive way Experienced working with energetic dogs like me or willing to partner with a trainer to learn how Willing to invest in my training - I would be a great candidate for a Board and Train program to set me up for success! A Note from the Foster: Meet Gladys, a lovable 5-year-old bulldog with a heart as big as her cuddles 💕 Gladys is the definition of sweet and gentle. She’s happiest spending her days snoozing on the couch, soaking up all the love, and snuggling close—especially curling into your neck to give her signature bulldog kisses. She absolutely adores people and could happily accept pets from everyone all day long. Gladys is truly amazing with kids of all ages and is incredibly patient and tolerant, making her a perfect family companion. At night, she’s an angel—sleeping quietly on her blanket next to the bed all night long. She’s also fully potty trained and has excellent house manners. A few resident dogs may not be accustomed to Bulldog smack talk. Since bulldogs have no tail to use as communication, and because their faces are so differently shaped, they make strange snorty noises that other dogs sometimes can't understand. Coco is an am bully/bulldog mix that is so sweet we had to put an XO behind her name! Not only sweet, Coco XO is playful, snuggly and full of joy. This absolutely gorgeous short stack is 2 years old and weighs 52lbs. If you could order her at Starbuck's, she'd be the Caramel Brulée Frappuccino with an extra shot of espresso! She's up for anything, anytime making her excellent ride or die sidekick material. Her favorite things are toys, playing fetch and snuggling with a person. She had 4 puppies in her previous life and was a great mom to them. She was separated from them when they entered the shelter, which was hard for her. Coco is good with dogs she knows, but in the shelter, was quite sassy to those she didn't. Because of this, for the time being she's looking to be in an only dog household. This may change as we get to know her more; since leaving the shelter, she is behaving very nicely and has been non-reactive to other dogs. Coco XO is located in NE Minneapolis, MN.
