I’m a sweet girl who loves nothing more than lounging at home and playing fetch or keep-away with my favorite balls. I may be a bit older, but I’m still full of energy and love to stay active!  In fact, I've been working with a trainer and its's recommended a daily walk (outside Or on the treadmill!) for mental stimulation. I’m totally potty trained and do well with crate time, though sometimes I’ll bark if I don’t get my way. I also need daily eye drops, but I’m good about taking them. I prefer a quieter, adult-only home since busy places and small kids make me nervous. I do best as an only dog so I can get all your attention. We can Netflix and chill on the couch and I promise to be your bestest friend and loyal companion. Foster mom says I’ll keep you laughing all day long with my bulldog antics and hey, we can check out the world.  I am leash trained and like to go for short walks. Listen, I may not be the fastest or most fit, but I can keep up! At home, I’m super affectionate with the adults I trust, and I love snuggling on the couch—yep, I’m a big lap dog! I’m happy going on leash walks for potty breaks and exercise, so I don’t need a fenced yard. At under 6 months old and about 12 pounds of spunky energy, Popcorn is a curious, clever, and cuddle-loving pup who is equal parts sass and snuggles.  Popcorn was rescued from a backyard breeder in TX and YES, this is the mix her two parents were! My name is Foxy and I am from Alabama. Foxy is the sweetest little girl! She is quite shy when she first meets you but quickly warms up when she determines you are safe for her to be around. Foxy loves to play fetch and is very excited when she gets to play with other dogs, especially ones that can keep up with speed and energy level! She loves little humans and is very protective of them but doesn't always realize she is bigger then she realizes sometimes. Foxy's most favorite thing is cuddling with her favorite humans! She gets nervous when in around new environments, new people, loud noises, cars, & especially trucks and depends "her people" to reassure her that all is well before settling in. Foxy is still working on some of her potty training, she is very good about using her potty pads inside but still getting used to the idea of going outside. Given more of a structured routine to her days, I believe she will adapt easily into finalizing her training as she is very eager to please! Foxy is the biggest sweetheart you will ever find! She would do best with room to run and another dog to learn the ropes from. Preferable a patient one. She is full of life and above all personality! This sweet muffin had some rough years in her youth & wound up at animal control, pancaked to the floor. Opal is both beautiful and sweet, but we have learned that the best home for her would be with a single woman with no other pets. Opal loves her human completely and she simply doesn’t want to share. She is extremely possessive. Not to the point where she bites but she growls and barks a lot and that does not make for a peaceful home life for anyone. Opal is fun and playful and affectionate with her person. She loves to go for walks and rides in the car and she’s good with other dogs as long as her person doesn’t want to love on them. Then she growls them away. Opal is spayed, UTD required vaccines and his heartworm negative. She is house trained, but might have an accident or two until she settles in. We just have to find that “right“ home for this precious girl. She would truly be someone’s very best friend. My name is Winston, and I am a handsome guy with big, soulful brown eyes and the kind of eyelashes that make everyone swoon. I mean, if I had a dollar for every compliment on them, I’d be living in a mansion by now... but instead, I’m just looking for a forever home full of love! I’m a total love bug. My idea of a good time? Cuddling on the couch and lounging with my people. When I’m at home, I’m pretty mellow — I love to relax and take it easy with my humans, but I’m also ready for action if you bring out a bone or decide it’s belly rub time (my absolute favorite). I can be a bit of a stuffed toy destroyer though, so if you give me one, you’ll want to supervise me. I get carried away, and let’s be real, those squeaky things are just too fun to resist. When nobody’s looking, I may try to gobble up the remnants, but hey, I’m just a dog with big ambitions! Oh, and full disclosure — I’ve got a thing for eating poop. Yeah, I said it. But don’t worry! I’m getting better, thanks to some training and the magic of the “leave it” command. Still, it’s probably best you watch me during those poop breaks. I do require a fenced-in yard, but I also enjoy leisurely walks at the park. And while I know a few basic commands like sit, stay, and touch, I’m just waiting for the right family to help me hone my skills. One skill I don’t need help with is when I hear the word “treat”—I’m there faster than you can blink! At night, I’ll be your angel. I’m happy to quietly sleep in my bed, your bed, or even a crate (I’m flexible like that as long as I’m by you!). But I’m not a “crate dog” when you’re gone. It makes me anxious, so I prefer to have the run of the house when you're away. I basically just wait for you to return…can you blame me? Speaking of anxiety — I do have separation anxiety, so my new family should be prepared to work with me on this. My current family has been so amazing, helping me with some desensitization training, and I take some doggy Prozac, which has helped a lot! But here’s the thing: I’d prefer my people to be around most of the time. Are you a homebody? Do you work from home? Well, then we’re a match made in heaven. I’ll be the best coworker you’ve ever had, and I’ll always have your back! Trust takes me some time, dedication and patience, but once I feel safe, I’ll be your ride or die! My human(s) will need to separately spend one-on-one time with me so I can learn to trust them. And while I’m a bit protective of my home and can be vocal about new people, once the room settles down, I’m all about coexisting. Just, uh, please don’t try to pet me too soon. I’ll let you know when I’m ready. I’m also a quiet, chill guy at dog-friendly places like breweries and Bachmans. I love tagging along, but I’m more of a look, don’t touch kind of dog. I like to observe the fun, but I prefer not to be approached by strangers (unless they have a treat…I can be a brave boy, but ONLY for a treat!). I’ll put my full trust in you to be my #1 advocate. I can live with a cat (as long as they respect my space), but I LOVE dogs. In fact, I’d love to have a confident, playful dog companion at home. Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.   In addition to normal pre adoption surgeries, Winston Churchill also had surgery on his nares and soft palate to improve the quality of his breathing. This is reflected within her adoption fee. Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home.
