Meet Mahi! She loves to dance for attention and she’s so loving. She’s a dachshund or basset mix with maybe some shepherd in her. My name is Mateo but my foster mom calls me shorty, probably because of my short legs. I am a basset hound but my face looks a lot like a German shepherd.  I’m very sweet and affectionate. They think I'm around 1-2 years old. I sleep quietly in my crate at night and I haven’t had any accidents at my foster moms house. When a rescue in Mexico found me, I had been living on the streets and struggling to find meals.  I traveled a pretty far distance: all the way from Mexico to the midwest in search of a family and stability.    Because of my past with food-insecurity, I don’t know how to share snacks/treats/etc with others.  Please be patient as I try to overcome this, and help set me up for success by not having me in situations where there could be “food scuffles” with other pets.  (Thank you in advance for making sure that my needs are met and I don’t have to go hungry anymore!)   I have a lot of energy, but that’s part of my charm!  I’m a silly boy and you’re guaranteed to laugh.  I’m smart as a whip and can learn tricks and commands quite well. Although I’m high-energy, I also have great regulation skills and can calm down when it’s time for cuddles.  I may have left a warmer climate, but I am still in search of a warm HOME.  Will you open your doors and your hearts to me?  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis is alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 50# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away! Midge is a very gentle Basset Hound and Chinese Shar pei mix looking for a forever home. She was taken in from a bad hoarding situation and is now doing living in a REAL foster home with other happy and loved friends and food and medical care too!! I am learning everyday what it means to be man's best friend and it is pretty sweet :) Midge came to the rescue with little hair and skin infections and entropion on both eyes (meaning her eyelashes were scraping her eyes every minute of every day..... think about how miserable it is to have ONE eyelash in your eye ;( and STILL a sweet and loving personality, despite how she was physically. The rescue fixed all my stuff up and now I have gorgeous, shiny and thick black fur and my eyes don't hurt anymore!!! She would be best in a home with another calm and confident dog. No food issues, couchy potato in training!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

He is sleeping all night in his crate and spends time in his crate each day. Even with his shorter legs, Winston loves to romp around the yard chasing leaves or finding a stick. Toys are super fun and chew bones are great! Winston is doing great on potty training and walking on a leash. He is a smart, curious boy and feels like an old soul. Meet Tom! He’s a 9 year old little tan beagle mix weighing about 35 pounds. He’s smaller than he looks in pictures! He’s super affectionate and sweet, and he loves kids. He’s fantastic with other dogs and loves to cuddle cats, too. Tom came to us because his owner became sick and unable to care for him. Tom is house trained and has good manners.
