Story
Bright eyes, a smart nose and a beagle body, Izzy is the complete beagle package! Izzy is an adult gal who weighs about 26 lbs full grown. Don't let her smaller size fool you as this girl is active and likes to be outside and doesn't mind being on the move a bit. She would actually do best in a home that is active and does not seem to care much for the more sedentary kind of apartment living. Izzy is good with other dogs but would also happily settle into a home with you and yours. She does well in her crate and has great leash skills already and acts like a lady when it comes to using the bathroom in all of the right places. This beagle is bound to keep you active and then head right for nap time when the walks and fun having have been done. She would be a great addition to most any family and needs to be on your "must see" list! **Hiking feedback: " She did so well interacting and she was easy going with other dogs and didn't mind other dogs coming up to her. She is such a sweet girl. She socialized well, but when it came time for walking she was ready to go and independent"!

Story
She is stunning isn't she? Angelica is a gorgeous, adult beagle who sports amazing markings and some lovely speckles and is just a wee thing at about 18 lbs now, on the lean side. Angelica clearly hasn't had a comfortable life around humans up until now so she is shy and very unsure but learning every day about the kindness of a loving hand. Angelica is however very comfortable with the company of other dogs and finds confidence in them and therefore needs to be placed in a home with other dogs and likely with a fenced in yard as walking on a leash is new, different and intimidating but not something she would be unable to overcome in the future. We suspect there is inner silliness in this girl but know it will just take time for her to feel at home and show all of the wonderful things she can be. Angelica has opened up and come out of her shell taking baby steps and will surely do so more with a structured and calm environment that does not involve a lot of noise and to do and to that end, she would likely do best in a home primarily with adults. She is quiet in her crate and likes to do her business outside. This girl is a flower just waiting to blossom and prove that love and trust that are earned with patience and kindness is some of the most rewarding in life!

Story
"Who me?" Ollie's face says it all...and yes you...we're talking about your cute little beagle self and trying to get you right on into a home with your own peeps just like you belong. Ollie is a short, stout and handsome little beagle who weighs about 25 lbs full grown. Ready to take on all of the sniffs out there, he is a mover and a shaker and will be a great companion for walks and all things active, in spite of his smaller size. That being said, he is also all beagle so he is ready to eat up his meals, the crumbs on the floor and is then ready for a good long nap in between the activities of the day. Ollie could be a solo dog and could also be fine with some doggo friends as well. He isn't a howler and can be quiet in his crate and wait patiently for good things like meals and time outside. This beagle boy is one to meet! Weelend Host Feedback: "While Ollie is a senior dog, he does not act like it at all. He was able to settle in immediately and spent the weekend keeping up with our 5 year old beagle. He loves sniff walks, pet stores, and rolling around in the grass. His tail is ALWAYS wagging, even when he’s half asleep. Leash manners are great. He walks well, he just wants you to stop every once in a while to let him sniff around. He does great in his crate and prefers to nap there. He also naps in the car, and even after you give him a tiny treat he’ll go right back to his crate to take a quick nap. He was a hit at the pet store. Great with kids and loved all the attention. Ollie is a very low maintenance dog and we wish him the best!"

Story
Meet Vera, a gentle and loving Beagle girl with the sweetest soul. While she can be a bit unsure of the big world around her and is easily startled by new sights and sounds, Vera finds comfort in the presence of other dogs and truly blossoms when she has a confident canine companion by her side. She especially bonded with her foster’s shepherd, happily following her around and staying close, and she also did wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. Vera has a playful side that shines through when she feels safe—she absolutely loves doing zoomies in the yard and rolling around in the grass. Though walks are still a bit overwhelming for her right now and she might be tempted to wriggle out of her harness, she’s happiest in a secure, familiar environment where she can build confidence at her own pace. She is a dream in the home—quiet and content in her crate, house trained when kept on a routine, and able to settle in peacefully. At night, she enjoys curling up nearby, often choosing a cozy spot close to her doggy friends. Vera is also incredibly affectionate and will happily sit in your arms, soaking up all the love you’re willing to give. Vera is looking for a patient and understanding , ideally with another friendly dog, who will give her the time and reassurance she needs to come out of her shell. With kindness and consistency, this sweet girl is sure to become a devoted and loving companion.

Story
(DOB 01/15/2025) Raisin is a super friendly, happy-go-lucky pup who has truly never met a stranger. Whether it’s people, other dogs, or the guy delivering your packages, Raisin is convinced everyone is a new best friend. He attends doggie daycare often and has energy to spare, keeping up easily with all his buddies. Raisin thrives with canine companions and would enjoy a fenced yard to zoom around in, but he’s flexible! He can be an only dog and doesn’t require a fenced yard as long as his people are committed to giving him fun ways to burn off that joyful energy like daily walks, play sessions, daycare, toys, or simply time spent by your side all make him one happy Raisin. He’s working on his leash manners and will need someone willing to practice with him, but he loves car rides, adventures, and being part of whatever his people are doing. He’s also crate trained, which makes downtime and routines easy. Raisin gets along great with kids, though his enthusiasm makes him best suited for families with older, sturdier kiddos. We aren't sure about cats because he hasn't had an opportunity to meet any at this time. If you’re looking for a cheerful, social, and energetic companion, Raisin is the perfect pup for an awesome family! As part of Raisin’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Raisin, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2594280##
