Story
Porthos is a 8 year old Beagle who is sweet but very scared - he has obviously been mistreated by humans, so we are going slowly with him to gain his trust. He will need compassionate and loving humans to help him get over his fear. HOWEVER - he loves, loves dogs. They are validating for him and he will need a home with dogs to loosen him up. He doesn't seem interested in cats, but does love dog friends! Porthos is hw-, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. **Extra bonus points if you get his name reference!** To adopt Porthos, please go to apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
*** AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, email adoptions@savinggracenc.org to schedule *** Sweet senior seeking a semi-active retirement home! Christabel seems to have had a wonderful life with a person/people before finding herself at Saving Grace, so we aren't sure how she ended up in a shelter. This sweetheart is very familiar with home life and loves to follow her person around in whatever they are doing during the day. She is a confident gal who loves all people and dogs and is living every day to its fullest. If you get the leash out, she will dance with excitement and enjoys a walk, long or short. She is then happy to curl up in a dog bed (or better yet on the sofa) for a snooze. Being a beagle, Christabel loves her food, so she is very motivated to please when you have a treat in your hand! At about 10 years old, she does have some health issues that her adopter would need to take on. Christabel is currently in a foster home but is looking for someone who she can spend her golden months with. If you are willing to give a loving senior a chance to enjoy the rest of their life as a family member, this girl is for you!

Story
(DOB 05/22/2024) Noodle is a wiggly bundle of joy with energy for days. He’s the canine equivalent of an espresso shot! Whether it's running laps in the yard, playing fetch with the kiddos, or a rousing game of tug-of-war, Noodle is always ready to go. A home with a spacious yard is a must for this zoomie king. He is he "The King of the Yard"; he's slice of heaven for certain! Noodle loves his people and is happiest when he's part of the action. He’d do well as a solo pup, but he thrives in the company of other playful, friendly dogs. His dream home? One with furry siblings to romp around with and humans who enjoy long walks, backyard playtime, and snuggle sessions after a full day of fun. Now let’s talk quirks—because no dog is perfect, well Noodle is perfectly lovable. He’s working on his leash manners (right now, he likes to take you for a stroll), and he can be a bit of a door dasher when excitement strikes. He’s also a proud member of the “Scared of Thunder & Fireworks Club,” so he’ll need some extra TLC during storms and holidays. Oh, and...to keep this little fun-loving pup safe in his backyard, Noodle will need a solid-panel fence or one with very narrow spacing—like, “noodle-proof” spacing. He has a special talent for squeezing through small gaps and will try to Houdini his way out if given the chance. Gate reinforcement = peace of mind. Despite his energy, Noodle has an impressive calm side. He’s crate trained, potty trained, and obedient—seriously! It's like someone hit the “Good Boy” switch when he’s indoors. He’ll happily chill out in his crate or lounge next to you after a solid play session, giving off major “teacher’s pet” vibes. If you’re looking for a hilarious, energetic, belly-rub-loving, treat-chasing, kid-friendly best friend who will make you laugh daily and love you endlessly (and won’t potty on your rug), Noodle's your guy. Just bring a fence, a ball, and a sense of humor. As part of Noodle’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this handsome pup, you can email: Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org. If you wish to adopt Noodle, you can complete an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website: www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2454019##

Story
She’s been a great dog up to this point. She’s just very protective of me as her owner and has a short fuse with other dogs. With another dog and small children around creates a recipe for problems. She would be happy to waist the day away on the couch with you, and enjoys belly scratches.

Story
Meet our charming Gracie girl, bursting with personality and ready to find her forever home! This sweet, silly pup has discovered her Beagle voice, so apartment living might not be the best fit—her joyful bays are perfect for a house with a fenced yard where she can unleash her zoomies! She’s a dream in the car, loves park strolls with her doggy pals, and is a pro on the leash, always sniffing with her nose to the ground. This cuddly gal adores chasing balls and wrestling with playful, dog-friendly companions. At night, she’s a champion snuggler, ready to cozy up with her favorite human. Shy with new people, she warms up with patience and treat motivation (she’s a sucker for snacks!). She may get along with a dog-savvy cat, but no kids under 12, please. Her ideal home? An active retiree or work-from-home pet parent who loves walks, playtime, and giving this sweet girl the love she deserves. A fenced yard is a must for her energetic bursts! Ready to welcome this lovable, quirky pup into your life? Apply today!***Please Note: All the available dogs listed on our website are getting spoiled in private foster homes.
