Story
Hi there, I’m Benson — a gentle old soul looking for my soft landing.I’m a 10-year-old beagle with a heart full of love and a nose that still works better than just about anything! I may not be able to see the world around me anymore — I’m blind — but that doesn’t stop me from finding joy in soft voices, kind hands, and the smell of something tasty nearby. The shelter is kind to me, but it can be a loud and confusing place when you can’t see. What I dream of most is a comfy bed, gentle company, and a routine that helps me feel safe and settled. If you’ve got room in your heart (and maybe a soft spot on your couch), I’d love to be your loyal companion. I might not see your face, but I promise — I’ll feel your love.Foster Said: He’s is not limited by lack of sight. He sniffs and hears his way out of obstacles. He loves enrichment exercises. He is very food driven so I would hide treats and food in the house and an enrichment mat.He has the cutest howls, just not when working. He gets along with all my dogs.

Story
This is Sabastion. He’s 4 months old. He’s very playful and affectionate. Loves attention and going on walks. He is house trained but he doesn’t go to the door and cry, he whines when he has to potty and he begins to whine very loudly when he has to poop. Since he’s only 4 months and I’ve had him for 2 I’m sure he’ll learn to go to the door but he’s smart. I have 1 area in my yard for him to relieve himself. In less than a week he learned to go to that spot. I’ve been teaching and praising him with treats. He loves to hear good boy, clapping or praise. He’s lovable and amazing. The only reason I need to rehome him is because I’m having back surgery and I have no one to keep him during my hospital stay and recovery time. He would be an amazing puppy to a loving household. He love exploring and taking in his surroundings when he goes for walks. He learns quickly where he’s allowed in the house. As I make his food he sits in the area he eats patiently until his food is ready. He’s amazing

Story
MEET BOSLEY! Bosley is a wonderful Beagle/Corgi blend that was hit by a car and injured. Someone brought him to the Fort Worth shelter and he was put on the last call list and was going to be euthanized. We saw the video of a very sweet boy whose hours were numbered if we didn't step up! We had to save his life! He had a pelvic surgery about a year ago and is now TOTALLY HEALED and still looking for a new home! This 4 year old Beagle boy is handsome and a total sweetheart! He weighs 25lbs. He is a little cautious of strangers at first (prefers to run away) but once he feels comfortable with you, he is a friendly boy! (treats can win him over in 5 minutes!). Enjoys his own yard and not a fan of leash walking. He would do best in a calm home without too many new people coming in. He is calm and has such a sweet personality and is house trained and crate trained! He would do best with another dog in the household and someone home more than not. BONUS: He does not bay at all or bark too much or have any Beagle bad behaviors! Want to meet this sweetheart? EMAIL: mini-mutts@outlook.com (fosters/adopters must reside in the Dallas Metroplex or surrounding areas only) ONE WEEK HOME TRIAL BEFORE ADOPTING! ************************************************** * NO DOGS OVER 25 LBS * NO APARTMENTS * NO CHILDREN UNDER 8 YRS

Story
Beagle lovers, meet Dusty — the sweetest, most lovable beagle you’ll ever meet. When he first arrived at the shelter, he had been very neglected and was unsure of his new surroundings. With time, care, vetting, and lots of love in his foster home, he’s blossomed into a confident, happy pup who now proudly rules the roost. Dusty is 6 years old, weighs 28 pounds, and is the perfect cuddle size. He adores chasing squirrels in the backyard and absolutely lives for his walks. He’ll track, sniff, and give you a classic beagle howl or two — he takes his job seriously! He’s friendly with everyone he meets and gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in his foster home, but can get a bit excited or reactive when seeing them on walks. Dusty would love to find a family with kids or playmates to keep him busy and entertained. While he enjoys running and playing outside, Dusty is calm, gentle, and well-behaved indoors. He’s fully potty trained and trustworthy to roam freely in the house when you’re away. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate beagle buddy — Dusty is ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and a few joyful howls. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Meet Wolfe Wolfe may have the big doe eyes and floppy ears of a beagle, but don’t expect a dramatic wolf howl—this sweet boy is more soft whimpers than wilderness calls. His quirky tail curls right around his little body, a sure sign he’s a true Texas mutt, made up of all the best parts. At around 25 pounds, Wolfe is the perfect lap-sized companion. Fair warning though—when he pops up on his back legs and motions “more” with his front paws, your heart (and snacks) don’t stand a chance. He has absolutely mastered the art of begging.Wolfe does wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and people of all ages. He previously lived happily with another dog, but when his human mama developed Alzheimer’s, she could no longer care for him. Through no fault of his own, Wolfe found his way back to OHAR, where he’s now patiently waiting for a new forever home.If you’re looking for a loving, gentle, and slightly mischievous lap dog with soulful eyes and a heart of gold, Wolfe is ready to curl up right next to you—tail and all. Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family!
