Dean Has Arrived in Wisconsin and Is Looking for an Adopter!
Dean has officially made it to Wisconsin with Mutt Life Dog Rescue and is settling in beautifully in his foster home. Now that he’s had time to decompress and show his true personality, this sweet boy is ready to find his forever family!
Meet Dean
Dean is a gentle, resilient pup who has already overcome a tough start in life. He was dumped at a kill shelter in Georgia with his brother, Sam, and is believed to be part of a backyard beagle-mix breeding situation. Despite this, Dean has proven to be affectionate, trusting, and eager to bond with his people.
Dean arrived in Wisconsin on our January transport and is currently thriving in a foster home in Cedarburg, WI. He gets along wonderfully with his foster dog siblings and is great with kids. He loves attention from his humans and enjoys being part of the action.
At around 6 months old, Dean is working hard on all the important puppy skills. He is almost fully potty trained and does a great job signaling when he needs to go outside. He is also learning crate training and leash walking and continues to make steady progress every day.
Dean has not yet been cat tested. We expect him to stay small to medium sized, likely around 35-40 pounds when fully grown.

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up to date dewormer, vaccinations, and heartworm prevention (age appropriate).

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit.
4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.
**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
