Meet Scotty: the littlest beag with the biggest personality! He moves fast, plays rough, airs his grievances loudly, takes treats enthusiastically, and snuggles like it’s his full time job. Scotty’s favorite activities include chasing his foster siblings around the yard, lounging in the sun, bursting into the bounciest zoomies you’ll ever see, and curling up under a blanket after a long day of being adorable. He loves neck scratches, chew toys (current favorites include Benebones and puppy teething rings), and cozy corners to nap in. Scotty’s family will need to continue his potty, leash, and crate training. He would do best in a home without small children, as loud noises and quick action make him nervous. Scotty is approximately one year old, weighs about 20lb, is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly prevention. He is good with other dogs with appropriate introductions, and has not yet met any cats or children. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs. Before you apply, make sure you do your research and understand what that will mean when bringing them home (we're going to ask!). These dogs will need time, patience, and positive reinforcement while they learn to exist in our world. Applications will remain open until 6/28. We will review and process applications that seem like a good fit the week of 6/29 and will schedule virtual screens as an application is approved. Story
Alfie is a project. He is by far the most shut down and anxious out of all his foster siblings. He is looking for a VERY special family that is willing to put in the time and patience to ensure he learns that the world isn't scary at his own pace. Alfie is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 25lb. His family will need to be prepared to continue work on potty, leash, and crate training using positive reinforcement. Alfie gets along with other dogs with proper introductions, and hasn't yet met kids or cats. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on monthly preventatives. Alfie's family must have a fully fenced, secure yard as he is a flight risk. They must also have at least one confident dog that can continue to show him the ropes. Kids must be over 12 and respectful. Loud noises and sudden movements spook him. Finally, his family must have experience with dogs like Alfie and be ready to discuss what his continued rehabilitation looks like. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs. Before you apply, make sure you do your research and understand what that will mean when bringing them home (we're going to ask!). Looking for a new bandmate? Meet Owen! Owen loves snacks, chin scratches, and playing fetch… with himself! He will show you all of his puppy antics, and then melt your heart with his soulful eyes and polite requests for snuggles. This beagle loves to shred - toys, beds, pee pads, dirt piles, etc. - and has impressive vocal range and stamina. Owen absolutely adores toys, but doesn’t like to share them just yet, so he should be supervised around high-value items and during playtime, like all new dogs. So far, he enjoys using his crate as a safe space to relax in. Owen’s family will need to continue his potty and leash training, and use positive reinforcement to keep building his confidence. Meet Betsy. Betsy is a Beagle possibly Shepherd mixed cutie pie. She is 8 years young, enjoys the company of people and is totally potty trained. At 45 lbs. she is the perfect size for most homes and puppy shenanigans are a thing of the past. While she enjoys the outdoors and doing the typical Beagle sniff around, a home where she can relax with you inside and savor some family time would be a dream. Regular walks are also on her wish list. Betsy is crate trained but is not overly eager to travel in one. She is somewhat wary of strangers and does experience anxiety when she’s around other animals. Betsy is good with children of all ages. Hey there! I’m new to Rescue Gang.I just arrived and I'm still getting settled in. The team is taking time to help me feel safe and learn all about my unique quirks and personality. So far I've proven to be a good, well behaved, and trained young lady. I do not like sharing my things, especially food and treats with other dogs. I guess you can say I've selective about who I allow my friends to be. Im a medium sized (27 pounds) beagle mix who would love a home of my very own. I heard beagles were the "in" dog right now so I don't know how I ended up here without a home!Since Rescue Gang is a foster-based rescue, most of us live in private homes.
