Meet Moonlight!
Hello, my name is Moonlight, and I am a beautiful, gentle, sweet golden oldie weighing about 28 pounds. I lived all of my life with one family until I was recently surrendered when my owner entered a nursing home and my extended family couldn't keep me. I'm a very mellow and low-key gal, and if I'm let outside regularly, I do all my pottying out there. I enjoy being out in the fenced yard, sniffing around, and occasionally have short little bursts of playfulness. I also enjoy easy-going, slow walks on leash where I can sniff all the smells along the way. When I came into rescue, I was a bit overweight, so walks are good for me, along with a good diet to help me lose a few pounds. I do well with other dogs and am very mellow mannered with them. I also like children who are respectful of me.
I'm in pretty good health overall, but I do take some medicine to help my pretty little heart work like it should, and I don't hear too well anymore. I will sleep comfortably through the night by you in my dog bed. A few short naps during the day are part of my daily routine. I'm a quiet gal, but as time goes on, I may find my voice. My ideal home would be one where my family is frequently home and will continue to be devoted to giving me opportunities to walk, exercise, and beagle around. I would do best in a house with few stairs, as my joints can't quite take a lot of them at once anymore. Now, I just need to find my forever family who will be devoted to caring for me and loving me all the rest of my days. Maybe I'll find my home with you!
*Moonlight has a dental appointment scheduled for 12/14, but can be adopted before then, providing my adopters are willing to take me for that appointment.
Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.
