Story
Meet Betsy. Betsy is a Beagle possibly Shepherd mixed cutie pie. She is 8 years young, enjoys the company of people and is totally potty trained. At 45 lbs. she is the perfect size for most homes and puppy shenanigans are a thing of the past. While she enjoys the outdoors and doing the typical Beagle sniff around, a home where she can relax with you inside and savor some family time would be a dream. Regular walks are also on her wish list. Betsy is crate trained but is not overly eager to travel in one. She is somewhat wary of strangers and does experience anxiety when she’s around other animals. Betsy is good with children of all ages. She is in good health and does well eating kibble for sensitive stomachs served in a puzzle bowl to keep her from gobbling up her food. Does Betsy sound like a good match for your family?

Story
🎵"Her name is Lola. She is a showgirl!”🎶No, literally, she is a SHOW girl. Wanna see her destroy a tissue in one fell swoop? She’ll SHOW ya! Wanna see her run full tilt around the yard with her foster dad’s sock in her mouth? She’ll SHOW ya! Wanna see her cuddle up next to a trusted human? Yup, she’ll happily SHOW ya that too!Lady Lola has come a long way in her journey from shutdown Ridglan beagle to goofball snuggle bunny. At 22 months old, Lola has just learned what playing with toys is all about and SHE LOVES IT! She is working REALLY hard on her potty training. Inside accidents happen mostly on puddle pads, which is a HUGE step for her. She is great with the kitties in her foster home and has even taken to lounging in their cat towers (see attached pic!). Lola LOVES a good walk, a Sniffari as we call them, and is getting better about being on a leash, although for only being a 15 pound peanut, it’s amazing how strong she is so HOLD ON TIGHT! At night, she sleeps in either her fluffy dog bed or wedged in between her foster mom and dad, where she barely moves a muscle until morning. She’s a good Wisconsin girl so cheese treats reign supreme in her world and she totally doesn’t mind if you sprinkle some grated cheese on her kibble. Lola is gentle, sweet, silly and, at times, understandably still a bit timid. When company visits, it takes her a while to warm up, if she chooses to at all. She is an amazing dog and would thrive in a home with another pup to teach her all things dog and also with INCREDIBLY PATIENT humans who will give her the safe space to blossom. A fenced-in, secure yard is essential for Lola and Second Chance Animals of Greater Milwaukee asks that applicants live within a two hour radius of Milwaukee. It’s truly been an honor to show Lola love, help her decompress and introduce her to the world. Now it’s time for her to take the next step and learn positive, basic dog behaviors. Story
Meet Scotty: the littlest beag with the biggest personality! He moves fast, plays rough, airs his grievances loudly, takes treats enthusiastically, and snuggles like it’s his full time job. Scotty’s favorite activities include chasing his foster siblings around the yard, lounging in the sun, bursting into the bounciest zoomies you’ll ever see, and curling up under a blanket after a long day of being adorable. He loves neck scratches, chew toys (current favorites include Benebones and puppy teething rings), and cozy corners to nap in. Scotty’s family will need to continue his potty, leash, and crate training. He would do best in a home without small children, as loud noises and quick action make him nervous. Scotty is approximately one year old, weighs about 20lb, is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly prevention. He is good with other dogs with appropriate introductions, and has not yet met any cats or children. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs. Before you apply, make sure you do your research and understand what that will mean when bringing them home (we're going to ask!). These dogs will need time, patience, and positive reinforcement while they learn to exist in our world.

Story
Elliott is a gentle soul. He loves snacks, tug toys, and chin scratches. Elliott is working through some anxiety about being outside and in unfamiliar spaces. He needs a family that is equally gentle and willing to move at his pace. Elliott is intelligent, curious, and playful at heart, and enjoys partaking in puppy antics (especially with his foster brothers) in spaces where he feels comfortable. Elliott would do best with another calm and confident dog in the home to help him blossom. His family will need to continue potty, crate, and leash training using positive reinforcement. Elliott gets along with other dogs with appropriate introductions, and has not yet met kids or cats. Elliott is approximately 1.5 years old and 30lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives. Please note: Our beagles are former lab dogs. Before you apply, make sure you do your research and understand what that will mean when bringing them home (we're going to ask!). These dogs will need time, patience, and positive reinforcement while they learn to exist in our world.
