Dean made it to Wisconsin with Mutt Life Dog Rescue and has been settling in beautifully — but he’s still patiently waiting for a forever family to call his own.
This sweet boy may have had a rough start after being dumped at a kill shelter in Georgia with his brother, Sam. They were dropped off at the shelter from someone who likely did backyard breeding. Dean is incredibly friendly, smart, and happy.
Currently thriving in his foster home in Cedarburg, WI, Dean loves being part of the action. He enjoys cuddling up with his people just as much as he enjoys playing with other dogs. He plays well with his foster dog siblings and would do great in a home with another playful pup or as a solo dog soaking up all the attention.
Dean has attended several meet-and-greet events with the rescue and handles the chaos like a champ. New environments, lots of dogs, plenty of people — he takes it all in stride and does wonderfully. His easygoing and social nature makes him such a joy to bring out into the community.
At around 6 months old and 25 pounds, Dean is expected to stay small-to-medium sized, likely around 35–40 pounds when fully grown. He’s not only adorable — he’s smart, too! He already knows “sit” and a few other commands and is eager to continue learning.
Dean is fully potty trained and reliably goes to the door when he needs to go outside. He does well in his crate and continues to build confidence with leash walking. He will benefit from continued leash training, but he’s making steady progress and wants to please.
Dean is truly the total package: affectionate, playful, social, and smart. Now he just needs a forever family to help him continue growing into the amazing companion he’s meant to be.
