**WCHS is adopting me from a foster home to help reduce my stress. Please call the shelter if you are interested in meeting me!**· Intake Reason: surrendered due to owner's healthKnown with:· Cats: Unknown· Dogs: Does well in WCHS playgroups, wanders around· Kids: exposed to all ages and did wellHi my name is Spock! After being adopted for many years I unfortunately had to be returned to WCHS due to the declining health of my owner. I am what some people might call a "Super Senior" because I'm almost 14 years old. Although I do have some slower days, I am still pretty active and love to go for walks. I also enjoy meandering around in WCHS playgroups. As you may know, with age tends to come some health concerns. I'm believed to me mostly deaf and I do have cataracts, giving me some limited vision. I definitely can still see treats! Being a Beagle, my nose also still works exceptionally well! I also have a history of infrequent seizures that correlate to stressful events, such as fireworks and gunshots. Due to the scarce amount of seizures I've experienced in the last 6 years, WCHS believes that my condition should be easily managed by keeping me in stress-free situations. There is a possibility that over the counter calming supplements may help as well. If you have any questions please call the shelter or come in and meet me in person and see how much life I have left to live!

Story
Sammie was a rescue puppy that we got about 1 1/2 yrs ago. He’s really smart and loves people.he weighs 65 lbs. he learns quickly. My husband’s physical health is deteriorating and my arthritis/ strength is getting worse as we get older. Sammie is so strong and active that we can’t give him the care or exercise he deserves. We love this silly dog and he makes me laugh. I want to find him a caring parent who loves dogs. He’s a lover. He does not chew things except his toys. Very playful.

Story
Sassy isn't sassy at all. This sweet lass is a 5-year old beagle mix who came to us on a transport. We likely saved her from euthanasia. Sassy checks all the boxes. She is housetrained, great with kids, dogs and even cats. She is very gentle when taking treats from her foster mom's hand. Sassy has become her foster mom's shadow. She follows her everywhere. Sassy enjoys being outside and she comes when she is called. Ladies don't usually like to talk about their age or weight but Sassy doesn't mind. We estimate that she is 5-years old and she weighs about 30 pounds. Sassy is the total package!_________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Sassy is $ 525.00WANT TO MEET SassyThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Sassy and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. Story
Meet Mavis! Howdy y'all, my name is Mavis, and I am the cutest, most affectionate lady you could ever lay eyes on! I mean, with my airplane ears that are as soft as silk and my extreme cuddling abilities, you'll fall in love with me over and over ear time you look at me. I'm about 10 years old, weighing about 22 pounds. I do well with other dogs, but I love me some food, so I'll try to steal everyone's treats, and I should be fed separately so they can have their own food. I enjoy running in the fenced backyard at my foster home with my fur pals, chasing the critters, in true hound dog fashion. I probably shouldn't live with cats since I might mistake them for a squirrel or other animals that are fun to chase. I go potty outside, never making messes in the house. I could easily go on walks if you don't have a fenced-in yard. Can you imagine all the sniffs I could smell on a walk? Oh, and I love people so much! I would even be okay if I lived with some kiddos. They seem to be really good at petting me and giving me tummy rubs! When I'm done with my naps throughout the day, it takes me a little bit to get up and moving since I have a bit of arthritis, but once I do, I'll be just fine. Once you get older, your joints become a bit more stiff. I would very much benefit from a forever home that doesn't have a whole lot of stairs because of this. I'd love to find a home where someone might like to cuddle in between my naps. I just need someone who is going to love me just as much as I'll love them for the rest of my days! Maybe that's you!? *Mavis is being fostered in Appleton. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
Meet Hazel! Are you seeking just the right blend of fun and cuddles? Search no more! Miss Hazel, here is a senior lady, but she’s playful and curious and engaged…which makes us think she’s perfect! Hazel loves attention and will ask politely to be lifted onto the couch or bed. If you talk to her but don’t lift her, she’ll bark just to be sure that you understand what’s going on here. She wants to be wherever you are, but her short little legs and loooong body make jumping difficult. Luckily, she's just a small 22 pounds. She settles right in for a nap after playtime or a walk, and will sleep as long as you will at night, curled up in the bend of your knee. She has not had any accidents in the house, but her foster takes her out after she sleeps and after playtime. Hazel plays a little rough and likes to trade toys with you rather than just give them up, so perhaps older children would be the best fit. She gets along well with other dogs, and she likes her walks, but let’s keep them shorter, please. Those little legs work hard to get her down the lane! She settles into the car once she finds her comfy spot and will watch the world go by through the window or enjoy a chew stick while you chauffeur her around town. Hazel prefers not to be left alone and will show her displeasure by barking for a few minutes after the door closes, so apartment living may not be her jam. She will rest quietly after a few minutes and await your return, which she will celebrate with wiggles and smiles, and happy little grunts! Hazel ignores the cat, who stands at the top of the stairs and judges whenever we pass by. If you want a sweet, curious, playful dog who just wants to be your best friend, Hazel is the gal for you! *Hazel is being fostered in Fredonia, WI.
