Leo, male, 1.2 yr old Beagle mix, 28 lbs. Leo is a handsome young Beagle who came to us from Arkansas after spending the first year of his life living in a backyard kennel. Despite that rough start, this boy’s spirit is still bright — his tail is always wagging, and he is so ready to feel loved. Leo is wonderful with other dogs and will require a confident dog companion in his forever home. Having another dog by his side helps him build confidence as he learns about the world for the first time. Once he warms up — and he warms up quickly — Leo becomes your loyal shadow and lifelong friend. He is gentle, affectionate, and incredibly eager to bond with his people and he loves children. He just needs a patient adopter who will give him a little time to trust. Leo appears to be housebroken and crate trained, and he’s catching on fast with his leash manners. He is doing beautifully in his foster home and continues to blossom every day. Because of his background, Leo will need a secure fencedâin yard where he can safely explore and gain confidence at his own pace.
