Trooper’s story is one of incredible resilience. As a young puppy, he was found with a broken jaw and underwent two surgeries to repair it. Due to his injuries, he’s missing the front part of his lower jaw — but don’t tell him that! Trooper doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He eats, drinks, plays fetch, and enjoys life just like any other dog. His joyful spirit and determination shine through in everything he does, reminding everyone he meets what it means to be strong, happy, and unstoppable. This handsome boy is as smart as he is sweet — he already knows his basic commands, including sit, down, middle, place, and crate. He walks beautifully on leash and is a joy to walk. He loves to learn and is eager to please, especially if you’ve got a ball in hand! He has great ball drive and fetch is easily his favorite sport. Trooper loves to play with other dogs but benefits from slow introductions. Once he warms up, he’s a total goofball. We believe he could be cat workable with proper introductions and structure. He’s fully housebroken and thrives with a routine, clear guidance, and lots of love. Trooper takes his job as home guardian seriously — he can be a little protective when new people first come to the door. Once he sees that everything is safe and calm, it only takes him a few minutes to relax and make friends. Kobe is a sweet boy with a heart of gold. He was constantly overlooked in the shelter because of his unusual smile- but he became a shelter favorite! Kobe became the resident dog tester, and he was good at it! Even while intact, Kobe would get along with all dogs, large and small. He was also very affectionate with the staff and volunteers. So when his time was up at the shelter, an army of volunteers was advocating for a rescue to step in. We were happy to help such a good boy. Despite having a slightly gray muzzle, Kobe has pearly white teeth and Vet's believe he is 3-4 years old. He has a unique smile that we believe is due to a trauma in his previous life. In his foster, Kobe is described as low-medium low energy dog. He loves being with his person or his pack, is housebroken, and mastering basic obedience. He's not a fan of the crate, but he's no trouble free roaming the home. Kobe needs an adopter who can look past the vanity of his appearance and love him for all of the fantastic qualities he offers. Shes mastered carrying shoes around the house without doing any damage, she will move towels and laundry to and fro and is always ready for her next task. Elphaba gets along perfectly with the resident male dogs, submitting to them fully, showing her belly and is always prepared with a play bow to get the games going. As Elphabas breeds (and namesake) suggest, she iis a smart cookie and the perfect adopter would be someone with working breed experience. She would be great on a ranch or in an active family. She is not a flight risk as she is very loyal to whomever has cheese. Elphaba came to us from the shelter with her 1 week old baby. It took some time for her to trust her foster mom but once they bonded over cheese, there was no going back. She is still learning that new people do not mean any harm... and that they often come bearing cheese. Are you sensing a theme here? Now that her puppy is weaning its her time to shine! Meet Trudy Even though Trudy hasn’t been with us long, her personality is already shining through — and she is an absolute delight. Trudy is spunky, confident, and loves to explore. She’s curious about the world and eager to learn, which tells us she’ll likely be a high-energy, easy-to-train pup as she grows.
