Trooper’s story is one of incredible resilience. As a young puppy, he was found with a broken jaw and underwent two surgeries to repair it. Due to his injuries, he’s missing the front part of his lower jaw — but don’t tell him that! Trooper doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He eats, drinks, plays fetch, and enjoys life just like any other dog. His joyful spirit and determination shine through in everything he does, reminding everyone he meets what it means to be strong, happy, and unstoppable. This handsome boy is as smart as he is sweet — he already knows his basic commands, including sit, down, middle, place, and crate. He walks beautifully on leash and is a joy to walk. He loves to learn and is eager to please, especially if you’ve got a ball in hand! He has great ball drive and fetch is easily his favorite sport. Trooper loves to play with other dogs but benefits from slow introductions. Once he warms up, he’s a total goofball. We believe he could be cat workable with proper introductions and structure. He’s fully housebroken and thrives with a routine, clear guidance, and lots of love. Trooper takes his job as home guardian seriously — he can be a little protective when new people first come to the door. Once he sees that everything is safe and calm, it only takes him a few minutes to relax and make friends. With proper introductions and clear direction, Trooper quickly switches from cautious to cuddly! She is a very sweet loving dog. She is dominant and not safe around small animals. We rescued her a few years ago not knowing her background or behaviors. Unfortunately the foundation we got her from was not aware of her restrictions with small dogs. She is extremely healthy. To be clear, I love this dog so much but I have small dogs and she cannot be around them any longer. We have had her about 4 years, she has been to training and is such a sweet wonderful girl. Shes also crate trained and has a very nice crate. She eats Farmers Dog and goes to the vet regularly for checkups.
