If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org . -----Meet Boris - A Gentle Soul Looking for a Special HomeBoris is a sweet, quirky pup with a tender heart and a resilient spirit. He's had a tough start in life and is still learning to trust, but his progress has been amazing. While he's very shy with touch and startles easily, Boris shows affection in his own gentle way-by resting near you, giving soft kisses, and seeking quiet companionship. He's food-motivated, crate-trained, potty-trained, and knows basic commands like "sit" and "come." He loves soft blankets, chew toys, and playing with other dogs, especially with his foster brother Charlie. While he also lives with a foster brother cat, he may need some training and work to coexist with any resident felines. Though he has some physical challenges-likely due to genetics or past trauma-he's gaining strength and confidence every day.Boris needs a patient, loving home that will let him open up at his own pace. If you have a calm environment and a big heart, Boris could be the perfect fit. He may take time, but the love you'll earn from him is truly one of a kind.Boris is currently in foster.Boris's adoption fee is $275. Story
We adopted Masher -5 months ago from Ca shelter. He is up to date on shots and flea and tick meds Very sad we cannot continue to raise him. My wife uses a cane now and is the primary caregiver which means she is unable to walk and exercise Masher. We believe he would be a great fit for a family with a yard as he loves to run and play And needs exercise. He loves to walk around our neighborhood. Masher needs a lot of attention. He is very loyal and attentive to his “person/persons”. We have a large crate for Masher that is 4ftx3ft and will sell for $25

Story
Trooper’s story is one of incredible resilience. As a young puppy, he was found with a broken jaw and underwent two surgeries to repair it. Due to his injuries, he’s missing the front part of his lower jaw — but don’t tell him that! Trooper doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He eats, drinks, plays fetch, and enjoys life just like any other dog. His joyful spirit and determination shine through in everything he does, reminding everyone he meets what it means to be strong, happy, and unstoppable. This handsome boy is as smart as he is sweet — he already knows his basic commands, including sit, down, middle, place, and crate. He walks beautifully on leash and is a joy to walk. He loves to learn and is eager to please, especially if you’ve got a ball in hand! He has great ball drive and fetch is easily his favorite sport.  Trooper loves to play with other dogs but benefits from slow introductions. Once he warms up, he’s a total goofball. We believe he could be cat workable with proper introductions and structure. He’s fully housebroken and thrives with a routine, clear guidance, and lots of love. Trooper takes his job as home guardian seriously — he can be a little protective when new people first come to the door. Once he sees that everything is safe and calm, it only takes him a few minutes to relax and make friends. With proper introductions and clear direction, Trooper quickly switches from cautious to cuddly! If you’re looking for a loyal, active companion who’s ready to be your adventure buddy, training partner, and best friend, Trooper is your guy. ##2356715##

Story
Meet Cheyenne, a 3 to 4-year-old lovable and gentle spirit weighing around 45 lbs. This sweet, affectionate gal is a faithful cuddle buddy who will melt your heart. Rescued from the streets of Mexico, Cheyenne's story is one of resilience and trust—she followed her foster father home after he stopped to feed her. Fully house-trained, vaccinated, spayed, and chipped, she is ready to become a loving member of your family. Cheyenne’s laid-back temperament, low prey drive, and friendly nature make her perfect for families with children, other pets, and even cats. She loves cuddling and taking walks downtown to greet everyone, but she also enjoys her naps, chewies, and treats. Don’t miss the chance to give this incredible girl a forever home—she’s waiting to bring joy, love, and companionship into your life. Cheyenne is currently being fostered in Benicia, CA. Please contact Tracy at tracyong1818@gmail.com if you would like more information on this special gal. California Pit bull Rescue is an official 501(c)(3) and requires an adoption application and $200 donation fee for all adoptions.February 11, 2026, 4:50 pm

Story
Have you ever wanted a dog that would bring you the paper? bring you your slippers? fetch a blanket when you are cold? Then may I introduce Elphaba! Just like her character name, she has a heart for doing all things good but may need a little more refinement in her delivery.  Elphaba gets along perfectly with the resident male dogs, submitting to them fully, showing her belly and is always prepared with a play bow to get the games going.  As Elphabas breeds (and namesake) suggest, she is a smart cookie and the perfect adopter would be someone with working breed experience. She would be great on a ranch or in an active family.  She is not a flight risk as she is very loyal to whomever has cheese. Elphaba came to us from the shelter with her 1 week old baby. It took some time for her to trust her foster mom but once they bonded over cheese, there was no going back. She is still learning that new people do not mean any harm... and that they often come bearing cheese. Are you sensing a theme here? Now that her puppy is weaned its her time to shine! Elphaba is crate trained, and house broken.  She likes having breakfast in her puzzle bowl so she can settle in for a morning nap after putting in all that work. She is timid when meeting new people but warms up quickly and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Her perfect home would be feline free but canine friends are a plus!  If you want to meet this good witch in the flesh fill out an application! PS dont mention her lack of tail, its a sore subject.  ##2636301##

Story
Klondike is a 4 year old, 90 lb, all-white German Shepherd who has so much love to give. He is an absolute angel, walks great on leash, takes treats gently, and is wonderful with dogs and small kids. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, down, and has great recall. He is so friendly, greeting everyone with a big smile. He reserves his biggest tail wags for his people, who he loves with all his heart. He loves pets, cuddles, head scratches, and belly rubs. Although he is a big love bug, please no cats for him. He is a low-to-medium energy dog who is very content sleeping on his bed most of the day, but loves when it’s time for walks and fetch with his ball. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on preventatives. Klondike is a velcro dog with some separation anxiety who loves to be with his people/person. He would do best with a family where someone is home all day (either WFH or retiree) or someone who wants to take their furry friend with them everywhere!
