Story

Bart is a Belgian Malinois who was found as a stray by our local shelter, and is now about two and a half years old. He's a smart, energetic dog who knows a plethora of commands, and is always down for a hike or for a run around the park. He is dog reactive, and will resource guard as well. Through some training courses at our shelter we've worked on the dog reactivity, though it's admittedly slow going, and Bart can get quite defensive about any object that finds his way into his mouth. However, he absolutely loves people, and is so happy to lean up against their legs and beg for endless pets. Unfortunately, I don't think we're able to give him the environment that he needs. This is the sort of dog that should be running around big gardens and fields, not worrying about another pet coming around the next corner. We really want to find a home for him that can fit him, and an owner that can give him the support and training he needs. We hope you consider Bart to join your home.

Lox is a gorgeous ~1 year-old Malinois who is ready for home! His foster describes him as an outgoing people pleaser. As a Malinois, Lox is a high drive dog who will need firm and consistent structure and boundaries to success. He would thrive in an active home. Lox is crate trained and does well left alone for several hours at a time, as long as he gets plenty of exercise before and after. He has been doing well with leash training although does still pull a bit. Lox does well with other dogs. He likes to chase cats and would do best in a home without any feline friends.

Trooper Trooper’s story is one of incredible resilience. As a young puppy, he was found with a broken jaw and underwent two surgeries to repair it. Due to his injuries, he’s missing the front part of his lower jaw — but don’t tell him that! Trooper doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. He eats, drinks, plays fetch, and enjoys life just like any other dog. His joyful spirit and determination shine through in everything he does, reminding everyone who gets to know him what it means to be strong, happy, and unstoppable. Trooper is an environmentally stable, handler-oriented, and highly biddable — the kind of dog who checks in, wants to work, and brings real enthusiasm to every session. Front and middle are in progress. Fully housebroken. He can be handler sensitive and works best under fair, clear communication built on trust. He is wary of strangers, but warms up to people quickly and plays well with dogs after a proper introduction. Not recommended for homes with small or young children, but is likely cat-workable.
