Story
Gabby is very sweet but quite shy. She is cautious and can be scared of new things such as unfamiliar places, people, and dogs. She does warm up over time, but it takes her a while to feel safe and start playing. When she gets scared, she may try to hide. Gabby is crate trained and feels safe in her crate. She will sometimes cry a little when she wants to be let out, but overall she is not very vocal at this stage. She is still learning potty training and it is taking her some time, but she is very motivated by treats. She has no food aggression and absolutely loves her foster sister, although she doesn’t quite understand the concept of personal space yet. If placed in a home with other dogs, they should be non-aggressive and very patient with her while she gains confidence. Gabby does have plenty of energy when she feels comfortable and wants to play, but she is also calm and enjoys cuddling once she feels safe. She doesn’t bite much, except occasionally when she gets very playful and forgets she isn’t playing with her brother. Gabby is sensitive and can get very scared if voices are raised, so she will do best with calm, gentle training. ##2667791##

Story
Hutla, smaller malinois mix, 48 lb, female, spayed, 1 yoHutla is a beautiful, sweet, waggy, happy girl. She looks like a very small shepherd, she is young, playful,  obedient and trainable.  She was abandoned in the fields and showed up one night at someone's farm with her mom Ursa. Needs to be guided with  patience gentleness as she is young and often acts puppy-like. She is loving and cuddly. She is rather friendly and submissive with the other dogs, but gets nervous at first and needs proper introduction. Better with the male dogs. Good on a leash. Needs a fenced yard with 6' fence. Adoption fee $325. If interested, please submit an adoption or foster application at http://www.sanNicolaDogRescue.com      March 9, 2026, 12:24 am

Story
Ursa, 2-3 yo, malinois, 56 lb, spayed femaleUrsa showed up one night at someone's farm with her puppy Hutla, apparently abandoned. She is gorgeous, loyal, a lot of love and rather calm and cooperative. She is good with another friendly male dog and her puppy Hutla who used to hide under her at first. However malinois are more like shepherds and should be on a leash around stranger dogs. She needs a secure yard with 6' fence. Story
She may not look like a traditional Shepherd — because she’s a Malinois mix with all the brains and drive to match. This girl is incredibly smart, highly food motivated, crate trained, and potty trained. She’s working on leash manners and thrives with structure, training, and having a job. Best Fit: • No cats or small animals (high prey drive) • Older kids recommended (playful, mouthy, can be rambunctious) • Active home with a yard or outdoor lifestyle • Experienced owner, ideally familiar with Malinois traits She loves her current dog pack but can be reactive meeting new dogs, so proper introductions and leadership are important. No aggression or resource guarding observed. She’s not a couch potato — she’s an athletic, focused, working-minded girl ready to bond deeply with someone who understands her drive and will help her shine.

Story
Hades has been raised by us since he was a new born, he is coming up on 3 years on May 10th. He is a big friendly giant, loves to play fetch/ tug of war on a big field, loves to be indoors preferably close to his owners and loves naps/cuddles. He gets excited to see people and loves his yellow toys. We unfortunately can no longer give him the space nor attention he needs as we are moving and downsizing, this has been such a difficult decision to make but we have come to terms for what is best for Hades Bear. He needs space and owners that will care for all his needs and energy. We have looked at shelters but unfortunately due to his large size the options they left us with made us very uncomfortable. We hope to find him a forever home with forever owners and hope to keep in contact to have updates on our sweet boy in his new home. Please reach out to us if you have any further questions. Thank you so much and have a great day!

IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Sarge is a neutered 2 year old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix currently being fostered in Denver, CO. Sarge is an outgoing, playful, and affectionate boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun. He is smart, curious, and full of energy, and he thrives when he has opportunities to play, explore, and be active with his people. Sarge loves other dogs and is always eager to make friends. He will happily nudge a dog to invite them to play and enjoys running and tug of war, especially with dogs his size or larger. While he gets excited and may pull toward dogs on leash, he is not aggressive and does well with slow, proper introductions. He is great at picking up on cues and will back off when another dog is done playing. Sarge has a moderate to high energy level and would do best in an active home. He would love daily walks, hikes, playtime, and mental stimulation. A fenced yard would be a big bonus, but he could also thrive with a family committed to keeping him exercised. He would do well with or without another dog in the home. On leash, Sarge could use some continued training. He is strong and tends to pull, but he responds well to guidance and does great with a gentle leader. He is fully house trained and crate trained, sleeping in his crate overnight and when his people are out. He can also be trusted with free roam, as he is not destructive. Sarge is a total lovebug with people. He is very cuddly, affectionate, and happy to greet new friends, though he may jump a bit when excited. He loves toys and proudly hoards them, lining them up one by one like treasured possessions. One of his cutest habits is doing a full somersault onto his dog bed after running inside. Sarge would be an amazing match for an active person or family looking for an adventure buddy. Older kids or dog savvy children would be best since he can be jumpy when excited. With continued leash training, plenty of toys, and lots of outdoor time, Sarge will be a loyal, joyful companion. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
