Story
Age: 3.8 years oldWeight: 74 poundsAdoption Fee: $150Dogs? Yes! I have never lived with another dog, but I have been to the dog park and met dogs on leash. Cats? Unknown. Kids? Possibly. I`ve lived with a newborn but am kind of a wrecking ball of excitement. Hi! I`m Seastnan (pronounced Sash-tan`). I`m a really smart boy and know at least 17 commands. I am a working breed and aim to please the person that puts in the most time with me. When I`m not training, I like to play with rope toys, chew bones, and be around my human. I was surrendered because my human was brave enough to admit they did not have the time to keep me stimulated. I thank them for being honest with themselves. I am a big commitment! If you are interested in a loyal, hard working, energetic dog, stop by the shelter and visit me! **Please research the breed BEFORE filling out an application**Interested in adopting? Fill out our Adoption Matchmaker Application at https://www.ark-valley.org/adoption-matchmaker-application/. To confirm we received it or to learn more about a specific animal, call or text 719-395-2737, or email us at info@ark-valley.org. Some pets live in foster homes, so we recommend calling prior to visiting to confirm the pet`s current location.Hours:By appointment: Sundays & WednesdaysWalk-ins: 12–5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday–SaturdayNote: We do not DNA test our animals to determine breeds. The listed breed(s) are either an educated guess from staff based on physical characteristics, or from information given by their previous home.

Story
Hello! I am Lily! I am a smart dog looking for an active home that loves Malinois and has no young kids. I can be nervous when first meeting new people but once I`ve had a chance to warm up I`m a ball of energy who loves long walks, learning knew tricks and playing. I like to chase cats and small animals so I need a home without them, I may also do well in a single dog home because I`m very rambunctious with my friends which some dogs would prefer to enjoy on play dates instead of 24/7 at home together. I look forward to meeting you!

Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
She may not look like a traditional Shepherd — because she’s a Malinois mix with all the brains and drive to match. This girl is incredibly smart, highly food motivated, crate trained, and potty trained. She’s working on leash manners and thrives with structure, training, and having a job. Best Fit: • No cats or small animals (high prey drive) • Older kids recommended (playful, mouthy, can be rambunctious) • Active home with a yard or outdoor lifestyle • Experienced owner, ideally familiar with Malinois traits She loves her current dog pack but can be reactive meeting new dogs, so proper introductions and leadership are important. No aggression or resource guarding observed. She’s not a couch potato — she’s an athletic, focused, working-minded girl ready to bond deeply with someone who understands her drive and will help her shine.

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Bubba #5 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Bubba #5 | 1-Year-Old Belgian Malinois Mix | Playful, Energetic Best Friend Bubba is a 1-year-old, 40-pound Belgian Malinois mix with a sleek black coat and an upbeat, friendly personality. He’s an energetic young dog who loves being around people and other dogs. At the dog park he’s a total social butterfly, happily playing with dogs of all sizes and making friends wherever he goes. Bubba is nearly house trained and has made great progress since arriving in foster care. He had a few accidents during his first week while settling in, but he’s been doing very well since. On leash he walks fairly well, though he can pull when he gets excited about meeting people or other dogs. His enthusiasm comes from a friendly place—he just wants to say hello and make new friends. When left home alone for a few hours, Bubba does well in his crate. He may whine briefly at first but settles down quickly and is calm when his people return. He currently knows “sit” (especially when treats are involved) and is still working on his puppy manners, including remembering not to jump up when he’s excited. He responds well to structure and has settled nicely into his foster home’s routine. Bubba has also done well living with a cat, mostly showing mild curiosity before moving on. While he hasn’t met children yet, he’s been very friendly with all people he’s encountered. As a Belgian Malinois mix, Bubba is a smart, high-energy dog who will thrive with an experienced and active owner. This breed is known for its intelligence and work ethic, and Bubba will do best in a home that can provide plenty of daily physical exercise, consistent training, and mental stimulation. He enjoys being engaged and having structure, and he’ll flourish with someone who wants an active companion for walks, hikes, training, or other activities. With the right home that understands and embraces the needs of an active working breed, Bubba will make a loyal, fun-loving companion who’s always ready for the next adventure.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
