Story
Banjo is a sweet and cuddly guy! This cutie is a high-energy and smart working breed mix, so he will need an active adopter who understands how to provide mental stimulation in addition to physical exercise. He needs a home with no small children, and older children must understand and be committed to respectful handling practices. Banjo knows sit and seems to be potty trained and crate trained, but he could use more training to have the tools necessary to thrive in his new home. Banjo is an affectionate guy, but needs an adopter who will respect his boundaries and only cuddle on his terms. He only likes hugs when he initiates. :) ADOPTION FEE: $425 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Bissell, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Our hearts break for Bissell, and we vowed to find him the home that he deserves. This was an OWNED dog. Bissell was adopted from the New Mexico shelter that we work with a year ago, with a full body of hair. After his adopter rehomed him a month later to a man on facebook, this poor guy clearly was not properly cared for. Fortunately for him, he was surrendered to the same shelter before he could get in any worse shape. He's been neglected, let down, failed, and uncomfortable for who knows how long. Bissell now has a ticket to Colorado to get the love, care, and compassion that he deserves. Bissell clearly has some dermatitis. Our assumption is his "owner" kept him outside for the year he was with him. Bissell has been fully vetted and is being treated for his hair loss. With time, a bit of medication & medicated baths (that he has already received), and good nutrition, we know that Bissell will be looking good again soon! When we heard Bissell's story, and saw his old photos vs his new photos, we couldn't help but tear up a bit. Bissell is such a good dog, who didn't deserve this! He is so friendly with all people, great with other dogs, potty trained, and even knows how to "sit" and "shake". Bissell is believed to be a Border Collie / Lab mix. He is 3 and a half years old, and 46 lbs. Farfel's Rescue and our New Mexico rescue partners would love to see Bissell in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Bissell in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Bissell has been fully vetted, and he is in great health, up to date on his shots, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Maggie is a beauty. She can be worried by a lot of hustle and bustle, so is hoping for a quiet home where she can relax and feel secure. Maggie will thrive with a small, trusted circle of friends and family. She prefers not interacting with other dogs as she's matured. HSBV will only rehome Maggie to a family with children 10 years of age or older and without other dogs to allow for a comfortable transition.

Story
Buttercup is a 1.5-2 year old Border Collie mix weighing about 35lbs.   Buttercup was dumped at a shelter in New Mexico with 2 day old puppies.  Some crummy human actually dumped a terrified, exhausted, brand new Momma at the shelter to die alone trying to protect her puppies.  When the shelter moved her into a cage with her puppies she tried to protect them (obviously) so the shelter immediately deemed her unadoptable, but was going to adopt out her puppies at less than a week old.  Keep in mind, these shelters in this area are dealing with almost zero government funding and hundreds of dogs being dumped on them, so this is not their fault.   We couldn't let Buttercup die this way and we didn't want her to be separated from her puppies that she loved so much.  We scrambled to get a transport together to get them all here to CO where they would be safe.  Once the puppies were old enough Buttercup went to our board and train program since we had to do our do dilligence since the shelter had deemed her "aggressive".  The day she went to our trainer, our trainer called us within the hours and said Buttercup was the sweetest happiest girl and she did not need board and train, and could be put up for adoption.  We decided to go through with the training program since she was already there and we knew it would set her up for success no matter what.  We do strongly believe in training and will require her adopters take our partner training classes just so they can learn more about dogs and learn about everything Buttercup has learned while she has been here.  Buttercup is a wonderful pup.  She has an amazing zest for life and is just always so happy and social.  She gets along great with all other dogs and people.  She has a good amount of energy just like most Border Collies but she also loves affection and loves to snuggle.  She is everybody's favorite who meets her.  She would be a perfect dog for daily runs/hikes, a doggy playmate, an someone who wants a dog to love and snuggle! If you are interested in adopting Buttercup, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##1773351##
