Story
Video https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8Z2ZfztKUHE Jazzy is a border collie mix and about 6 months old. She is so pretty and happy and friendly. Great with dogs of all sizes and with cats. Randomly goes for a swim in the pond. Affectionate but also independent. Currently about 30 lbs. Someone will be very lucky to bring her into their family. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tacoma, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. Story
Meet Ogallala, but everyone calls her Olga! This sweet, beautiful girl is a Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix with a gentle and silly heart that will make you smile. When she came to Soul Dog in 2021, she was shy and fearful, but thanks to her long term foster family, she has made amazing progress.Olga has gone from hiding in her favorite corner to relaxing on the sofa with her foster pack, greeting her family at the door, and even asking for affection. One of her favorite pastimes now is shouting out the window at people and dogs passing by. She really loves letting her voice be heard! While she has gained confidence, Olga still has a few fears. Loud noises, sudden banging, or busy sounds like kids playing basketball can startle her. When she is unsure, she may bolt and then settle in a safe spot. With gentle guidance and patience, she is learning that the world can be safe and fun.Olga is looking for a kind, understanding person who can give her love, calm guidance, and the time she needs to feel confident in a new home. Because she is so comfortable in her foster home, a gradual transition to her forever family will help her adjust and thrive.Olga is a sweet, joyful girl who is ready to bring love, smiles, and laughter to her forever home. If you would like to meet her, submit an application at www.souldog.org. For questions, email adopt@souldog.org.

Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. Story
Meet Arnold ! LIVING WITH A DOG TRAINER! He is a goofy, wiggly boy who’s often on the move. Despite that, he also loves to lounge and cuddle up in the house. We believe the is a shepherd/husky/herding dog mix. He has some herding dog tendencies, like gentle nipping at hands when he’s excited, but he’s quickly becoming more polite and respectful in the home. He also has the German shepherd loyalty! He would make a fantastic off leash hiking companion as he sticks very close by to his person and is non reactive. Exercise wise, Arnold needs 1-2 hours of activity a day. He loves to walk, run, play tug, play with other dogs, and explore new places! He currently is learning drop it, sit, and recall and doing very well. Arnold is shy with new people and tends to avoid/ignore at first but then he starts to show more of his personality. He is in a foster home with a dog trainer and is getting a lot of healthy socialization with dogs and humans. He is also working on his crate training and learning to be okay on his own. He loves to be pet and will melt for belly rubs! Arnold and Bria came from a hoarding situation in Texas, where there were 20 other dogs living in very difficult conditions. After being rescued, he had to fight hard at the start but today he’s healthy and ready for a forever home. All POSO Dogs come with: - Spayed/Netuered - Basic Shots (age appropriate) - Fecal and tick disease testing - other medical concerns addressed before adoption - 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer - Training received in foster home - Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar - PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations

Meet Benito – Your Happy-Go-Lucky Adventure Buddy! Basic Info: Name: Benito Breed: Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog Mix Sex: Male DOB: April 10, 2022 Weight: 46 lbs Intake Date: April 9, 2024 Personality – Happy, Playful & Full of Zest: Benito is pure sunshine on four paws! Always ready to play, explore, or lean in for a pet, he’s got an infectiously joyful personality that will keep a smile on your face. He loves interactive games, running around the yard, and getting belly rubs. Benito thrives on connection and fun—he’s a dog who wants to be in the middle of the action and part of the family. With him, every day is a new adventure. Breed Information: As a mix of Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog, Benito is naturally intelligent, alert, and active. These working breeds are known for their stamina, loyalty, and sharp minds. Benito will benefit from regular physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him balanced and happy. Puzzle toys, training sessions, and active play will help him shine. He’s eager to learn and eager to please! Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise: walks, play, fetch, or dog sports Offer mental stimulation through training, puzzles, and games Use positive reinforcement training—Benito is smart and responsive Maintain regular veterinary care and vaccinations Ensure he’s part of the family, not left alone for long periods Provide structure, patience, and love Create a safe, indoor home environment Commitment for Life: Benito is not a short-term companion—he's a lifelong partner. Adopting him means committing to his care, well-being, and happiness for all of his days. He needs a family that understands that dogs are not disposable—they are forever. In return, Benito will give you loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. Do Not Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Benito should never be tied up or left outdoors alone. Story
Bruce is a 10-month-old puppy who’s funny, silly, and full of energy. He’s a little wild in a puppy way and absolutely loves being outside—running, exploring, and burning off energy. He would do best with someone who has a backyard and enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle like hiking or long walks. This isn’t a rushed rehoming. I care deeply about Bruce and am looking for the right fit, not just any home. He deserves someone who can give him space, time, and a lot of love.
