Story
Meet Speckles — Your New Best Friend  If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly companion to share your adventures, look no further than Speckles! This handsome retriever/collie mix (approximately 4 years old per EAPL vet review) is ready to find the family he's been waiting for. Speckles is the whole package — he walks beautifully on leash, knows how to "sit pretty," and won't drive your neighbors crazy with barking. He's a true people-lover who lights up around humans and gets along great with other dogs, making him a wonderful fit for multi-pet households. When it comes to fun, this boy means business. Toss him a ball or a Kong and watch his eyes light up — then take him for a walk and you'll have a happy, tired pup by evening. Speckles thrives with activity and would absolutely flourish in a home with a yard where he can stretch his legs and explore. Speckles is clearly a smart cookie who is eager to please — with a little consistent training on basic commands, he's going to be an absolute star. If you're an active family or individual ready to invest a little time and a lot of love, Speckles will pay you back tenfold. Apply to adopt this  handsome  guy at EAPL.com— we have a feeling it'll be love at first sight.    Put in an application at eapl.com. His adoption fee is $375 March 7, 2026, 2:40 pm

Meet Benito – Your Happy-Go-Lucky Adventure Buddy! He loves interactive games, running around the yard, and getting belly rubs. Benito thrives on connection and fun—he’s a dog who wants to be in the middle of the action and part of the family. With him, every day is a new adventure. Breed Information: As a mix of Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog, Benito is naturally intelligent, alert, and active. These working breeds are known for their stamina, loyalty, and sharp minds. Benito will benefit from regular physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him balanced and happy. Puzzle toys, training sessions, and active play will help him shine. He’s eager to learn and eager to please! Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise: walks, play, fetch, or dog sports Offer mental stimulation through training, puzzles, and games Use positive reinforcement training—Benito is smart and responsive Maintain regular veterinary care and vaccinations Ensure he’s part of the family, not left alone for long periods Provide structure, patience, and love Create a safe, indoor home environment Commitment for Life: Benito is not a short-term companion—he's a lifelong partner. Adopting him means committing to his care, well-being, and happiness for all of his days. He needs a family that understands that dogs are not disposable—they are forever. In return, Benito will give you loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. Do Not Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Benito should never be tied up or left outdoors alone. Story
Meet Arnold ! LIVING WITH A DOG TRAINER, DOG AND CAT FRIENDLY! He is a goofy, wiggly boy who’s often on the move. Despite that, he also loves to lounge and cuddle up in the house. We believe he is a shepherd/husky/herding dog mix. He has herding dog tendencies, like gentle nipping at hands when he’s excited, but he’s quickly becoming more polite and respectful in the home. He also has the German shepherd loyalty! He would make a fantastic off leash hiking companion as he sticks very close by to his person. Exercise wise, Arnold needs 1-2 hours of activity a day. He loves to walk, run, play tug, bike ride, play with other dogs, and explore new places. He knows drop it, sit, down, and is learning recall. Arnold is shy with new people but is curious and generally neutral with strangers. He is getting a lot of healthy socialization with dogs and humans. He is also working on his crate training and learning to be okay on his own. He is very affectionate and bonds hard with his person! Arnold and Bria came from a hoarding situation in Texas, where there were 20 other dogs living in very difficult conditions. After being rescued, he had to fight hard at the start but today he’s healthy and ready for a forever home. All POSO Dogs come with: - Spayed/Netuered - Basic Shots (age appropriate) - Fecal and tick disease testing - other medical concerns addressed before adoption - 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer - Training received in foster home - Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar - PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations

Story
What a handsome senior pup! Gunner is searching for a calm, low-stress home where he can be spoiled rotten. He lived with another dog in his previous home, but doesn`t appear to have much experience meeting new dogs, so we recommend a doggie meet-and-greet here in the shelter if you have another pup at home. To help him find a quiet spot to land, HSBV will only rehome him to a family without children or with children over the age of 10.

Story
There's nothing quite like young dog sweetness and silliness, and then they put their beautiful heads quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm breath. These gorgeous pups are so pure and vulnerable with their whole lives lying in front of them, that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter facing euthanasia due to no fault of their own, but rather due to a lack of space. Scout is a sweet as can be 9 month old, 33 lb Border Collie / Cattle Dog mix who is just waiting to be the love of a special person's life. Farfel's can't swear to the accuracy of his breed mix as no DNA test was done. It was the opinion of Texas veterinarians and we're going to stay with their educated guess. Scout is starting out with great energy. While initially shy due to all the changes in his life, this sweet guy is blossoming in his foster home. Now at 9 months old, Scout's self esteem is growing every day as he learns that he's a very valuable pup that has so much to offer a dog-loving family. Scout emerged from the shelter with a dull and tired coat. Our gorgeous pup will require a lifelong commitment to periodic brushing and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are perfect lifelong protocols for general longevity and coat care to keep Scout's hair super-healthy, shining and cottony soft. Scout is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his age. He's also very loving and cuddly once comfortable in his new environment. This snuggly little guy would be very excited to be a couch potato and snuggle with his favorite people at the end of an active day. it's clear that this pup is SO smart and very sweet - very typical of the Yorkiepoo personality. Some would say this breed mix is among the most lntelligent and cuddly in the dog world. Since Scout is just a young guy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome and loving best friend. Scout will form firm bonds with his family and learn socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement (force-free) Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a young dog's ultimate behavior and in his relationship / bonding with his people. It does take time and commitment, yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free training classes. We therefore aren't willing to adopt Scout out to a home that doesn't choose to offer him this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. Farfel's is open to Scout finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a silly and super-smart young dog. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a great choice for a pup that would love nothing more than getting loved up periodically throughout the day. Scout enjoys his relationships with all humans. We would prefer, however, to place him in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment by a young child will create a dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can also be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development. Scout will be up to date on his vetting / vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to support Farfel's commitment to a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet as can be pup. An adoption application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Scout, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Bruce is a 10-month-old puppy who’s funny, silly, and full of energy. He’s a little wild in a puppy way and absolutely loves being outside—running, exploring, and burning off energy. He would do best with someone who has a backyard and enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle like hiking or long walks. This isn’t a rushed rehoming. I care deeply about Bruce and am looking for the right fit, not just any home. He deserves someone who can give him space, time, and a lot of love.
